The "Currently Playing" Game Thread-Discuss Your Games, Vent, Give Props, etc

how long does it take to beat the game? and try MGS 3, if you want tips to beating the bosses i will give you some but nothing more. or just take the cheaters way and go to Gamefaqs.com

17 hours.

Once you beat it, the second time through can be as short as 5 I’ve heard.

I mean I was just fucking around and got through like 1/4 of the game in 45-1 hour of time.

I just found a copy of SHining Force 1. Props to me.

Ugh. Technic Beat has a steep learning curve. At least to me it does. After not having played for 5 days, I had to go into the tutorial again to get back into the swing of things. I plan to play it steady now but just trying to remember all the techniques in this game makes me head hurt. I like this game but man, it seems like A LOT to take in right off the bat. BTW, X-Death, I mailed your copy of TB on Friday. Maybe you’ll be a faster learner at this game than me.

As for MvC2, I bought Roll and Mega Man with my points. I saw a vid at my buddies appartment where someone pulled off a 89 hit combo with Mega Man. :wow: I made it to Abyss and lost to him a few times. So I had to break out the cheapness. Yup, I used Cable. But hey, if the boss is going to be one cheap mo-fo, then he got what he had coming. Along with Wolverine and Ryu, I did a 3 team 86 hit combo and finished him too. PLEASE tell me that mother is NOT a playable character.

Hey guys, Im not too hot on PS2 game info. Im looking to get some RPGs for my station, can anybody recommend me some? (I have every FF game!) I dont mind PS1 games either.

My wish list so far…

Xenogears
Vagrant Story
Chrono Cross

Kingdom Hearts

Replaying Megaman X4. I hadn’t realized how easy this game is

Shadow Hearts 1&2, people who haven’t played it yet are really missing out.

Still playing Maple Story. I think my mage is level 16 right now. On friday before I went to the arcade, a friend brought over Breakdown for Xdude. I had to rip that sucker to my harddrive ASAP. I’m barely past the beginning and already its getting hard. Good to see a new(ish) game that isn’t goddamn easy.
EDIT: I also got my imports. Going Soul Blader->Chrono Trigger->FF6
No rush though. SFC FF6 costed 1/5 the price of my FF3/6 on SNES, and it came in GODLY condition. The moral of the story is BUY JAPANESE.

I’m looking forward to that TB now. It’d be nice to have a new rhythm game other than FreQuency, Amplitude, and DDR.

Visit http://www.combovideos.com . Sign up and check out any of the vids in the MvC2 section, you’ll probably like the Meikyousisui’s the best. I have doubt that you’ve seen any good vids within your circle of friends.:razzy:

playin Halo…and playin T5

Heya folks. Greetings, Reggie, and all active participants in here. I’ve not been playing that many games as of late, but it’s always good to see this thread still going strong with no signs of stopping.

Been playing:

  • SF3: 3rd Strike Online (XBL)

  • Typing of the Dead - With one of my best friends from OOT. I’ve learned an important lesson - NEVER play this game with anyone who is an office worker/typist IRL; you WILL get trashed).

  • Halo 2 - I’ve laid off of it a bit. It’s still fun, but all the crap you have to deal with online can be annoying.

  • King of Fighters 94’ Rebout - been living up the old days playing the regular Neo-Geo mode. I can’t wait for my bud in Korea to get home so that he can play it. We used to burn many hours a week playing this.

  • Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Saturn) - Working on learning to use Gen’s Crane style (3xkick) properly.

I started playing Suikoden II yesterday. I’m back in the Hero’s hometown (after fighting the mist boss). It seems okay, so far. The music is awesome. I’m hoping I can get all the character through one play through (hopefully), as I would like to play part III immediately after completing this (which will determine if I buy part IV).

Man I think I’m REALLY gonna cry over this Suikoden II talk.

It all started when 5 years ago (I got the game the following Xmas after it came out), my friend kept pestering me into letting him borrow it until he successfully made me a softie. Then he passed it down to his friends which I don’t even know, and I never saw it since. I wasn’t even near beating the game yet (the last thing I recall doing was gambling with a character that’s named after the capital city of my state) and my interest in the rest of the Suikoden series died sadly.

Now I’m really fucked cause nowadays it’s one of those games people would kill for, prices jacked up by word of mouth from people, Ebay’s brainwashing tactics on value, or cause riots if more than one person found it in the wild.

Hell, Suikoden II achieving holy grail status is so bad that it became a prize for a contest in Tips and Tricks Magazine!

wow harsh samething happened to My X-Men:COTA game until i found the case in a garbage and the cd nowhere to be found.

Suikoden II

AAAARRRGHH!!! SEE WHAT I FUCKING MEAN???

I had played the first Suikoden, years ago. Loved it.

Wanted to get back into the series, especially since seeing somebody playing part IV a couple rooms down from mine.

I want the REAL games too.

I guess I can just forget about that. Haha the fucking shit is near $350, and they got the old 19.99 price tag on the game.

Man I remember the first time I beat Suikoden 1 back in 1997. I’ll never forget how blown away I was seeing the Golden Hydra (the final boss) since it was on a 27 in television, which was pretty huge for how old I was back then.

The whole part of the plot that involved Neclord the Vampire and the talking sword was my favorite bit. That pipe organ music is still awesome. In fact I’ma get on Limewire and grab a MP3 of that.

What they should do, is re-release the first 2 of the series in a double disc package for ps2 or some shit. They’re not getting any business from Ebay, Ebay is. And if the game goes at such high prices there, I’m sure the game can sell fairly decent.

W00t! I was actually rocking the beats on Technic Beat last night!! I was ad libing like crazy for extra points. I beat Easy mode and Normal modes. OK so I didn’t do any hard songs. All the songs I did only had a difficulty star of 1. And the difficulty stars go beyond 5 :wow:

Suikoden IV is slow. Going from the greatness that is II then shitting on it w/III and still not doing anything right w/IV. god damn.
