Metroid Prime.

22% - 55 min. YOU CAN’T FUCK WITH THAT! I kinda messed up already though. Coulda saved myself like 5 min. Oh well.

Marth is certainly way too awesome. Peach, on the other hand, is apparently so cheap that she’s banned in tournaments.

I LOVE SSB Melee. Just hearing Million talk about it makes me want to play it. I also wish I had people to play against but bashing the CPU is still endless fun. I hope we see a sequel with Pit and Little Mac.

Astro’s Omega Factor is finally complete. He’s at full power now. However, I still haven’t found every single character or unlocked everything. The ever growning complex story is another reason I keep playing. I’ll probably even play the game on Normal and Hard difficulties.

The more I play DarkStalkers 3, the more I like it. I beat the game with Victor early this morning. He’s a bit slow but he’s got some awesome moves.

Beat down Alastor a couple nights ago, and Fire Leo last night. Alastor was a fucking chump. Kicked his ass on my third life, where as all of the other bosses cost me 5-7 continues to finally figure out and beat. Anyway, I hope that I can finish the game as Joe tonight and start on Sylvia’s game.

At Toy’s R Us I picked up:

GTA: San Andreas
Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door
Romance of the Three Kingdoms IX

Just beat Ninja Gaiden for XBox earlier this week, and it was well worth it, though I fell 6 scarabs short of 50, dammit.

I had my life bar extended so much, it nearly reached across the entire screen. The last few bosses were actually really easy:
Armlet of the Sun + Dragon sword for his first form (Dark Emperor), and Lv 3 Art of the Inazuma + Incindiary shurikens owned his second form.

NG is without a doubt one of the best Xbox games ever made. Truly amazing in every aspect. Visuals, gameplay, controls, sound, voice acting, cinematics, etc.

heyyyy…speaking of Punch-Out’s Little Mac…it would be interesting if a few other boxers from there could show up again…how about that magical indian guy, or King Hippo? yeah, I’d like to play as King Hippo…

Sadly, I doubt a Smash bros. game will ever be online…because of Nintendo’s idiotic opinion on that. Yeah, I’m doubting any games for the next Nintendo console will be online-compatible either…it seems as if they’ve become detached from what the average consumer REALLY wants. At least Sony and Microsoft have given us some online options, whereas Gamecube only has 2 or 3 officially online games.(*in the case of the PSOs…I get the feeling that Sonic Team had to beg and plead with them and twist some arms about it.)

My pitiful smash file is up to 972 Vs. matches now. I just got through beating on some cpus with Doctor Mario(*black coat of course, for Matrix-style.), and then Ganondorf.
-I have only 2 name entries in the game… “END!” and “CRAP”.

-I can no longer taunt. D-pad doesn’t work at all on the controller I currently use. Yes, all of my controllers have something wrong with them. My most recent one no longer has a working Z-button.(*<<Rainbow V Challenge, Viewtiful Joe.) Another controller works usually…but the R-button has to be pressed all the way in to work…and sometimes it gets “stuck” like I’m holding R when I’m not.

I’ll continue Alastor’s 2nd adventure through Adults mode in a little while. I got a Rainbow V on the train with him yesterday, and a regular V on Alastor.(*got hit once with no successful Ukemi…so it was V,A,V)

*yeah, Al as a boss was easy the first time around for me too…but then again, I started off on Kids way back then.:stuck_out_tongue: Still, he’s almost as easy as Charles. I beat him on the very first time we fought.
heh, I had to look in a FAQ for Leo though…I wonder how many people figured him out on their own…

-Melee —I never heard anything on Peach being banned. I don’t think she was ever considered to be part of the top tier anyway…wasn’t that Sheik, Marth, and possibly Fox? I remember Peach being ranked below them in that “upper” tier…and none of the rankings are such a huge deal anyway. According to some of the things I’ve read, no matches are truly lopsided in this game…unless you’re talking about Bowser or Pichu vs. someone.

*I miss the good ol’ days on Gfaqs when TMOG was there. This was a guy who claimed to beat Very Hard Adventure or All-Star…No-Damage Clear…with Pichu. Oh, those were good times…funny stuff.

I beat Astro Boy: OF and this time I saw the good ending. I won’t mention any spoilers. I’ll just say that AB:OF is one of the best games of 2004 and one of the best GBA games ever. The gameplay is old-school and it feels very much like a Treasure game. (Treasure and Hitmaker made OF. They should have made the PS2 version of AB. It probably wouldn’t have sucked.) The story is another reason why AB:OF was so good. You actually had to find all the hidden characters to complete the game and they weren’t just some meaningless sidequest. Finding everyone ment seeing the real ending. I highly recommend this game to everyone at SRK. It rocks all socks.

Awesome, man, awesome. That scythe girl you speak of is Sadamitsu, and the wolf guy is Tsuna. I love the dark and mystical Japanese mythologically-inspired characters in Otogi 2. So far, I’m liking Suetake (the Chaos wheel/kinesis guy) and Tsuna the most. The other day, I experienced a ravishing feeling playing Otogi 2… a feeling I often received while playing Dynasty Warriors 3 a while back. When you strip these two games down, Dynasty Warriors 3 and Otogi 2 have the very same heart.

Attention all XBox owners, please buy Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors or we may not see an Otogi 3! I bet Otogi 2 will be the most underrated game of 2004. You know what? There are a lot of titles under the radar that wind up being among the best games – just like Rygar, Prince of Persia and Dynasty Warriors 3 (before it’s popularity exploded).

I bought DOA Ultimate the other day. Big mistake. I love the double-pack case and the online network is pretty cool, but I feel shitty for blowing 50 dollars on DOA Ultimate. It’s completely my fault – I knew I was going to be let down the second I bought DOAU, considering DOA2 wasn’t very appealing to me. What the hell was I thinking? Oh well, more time to play Otogi 2 until Halo 2 and Snake Eater.

Wrongo. I’ve had it since it was released, and have been singing its praises for damn near 12 years. Still haven’t played the second though…

I got the american version of Otogi 2 a couple days ago. The Japanese one is so much better. For the American release, it would appear that they tripled the load times, made the title screen look shitty, and increased lag when fighting hordes of enemies. Even when I played it off my harddrive it still has the same problems. I guess its nice to know what all the items do, but they’re not necessary. :bgrin:

And yeah, DW3 is top shit. I’d cream myself if Gan Ning or Wei Yan made an appearance in an Otogi game. :lovin:
Too bad DW4 was a big letdown for me.

If you’re a hard-core gamer, take advantage of the Toys"R"Us sale.

Keep in mind Neo Contra, GTA: San Andreas, DOA Ultimate, Ace Combat 5, Otogi 2, Outrun 2 were recently released.

I think I went a little overboard myself:

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Fable, SVC: Chaos, Tales of Destiny, Mario Kart DD, Paper Mario, Halo, Splinter Cell: Pandora’s Box, Guilty Gear X2: Reloaded, Out Run 2, DOA: Ultimate and Grand Theft Auto XB.

Awwwwww yeah. I’ve been living it up with DarkStalkers 3. Jedah has a tight character design but those long, red finger nails have gotta go!! Seriously, the dude is like boarderline crossdressing with that crap. He’s also a tough character for me to get the hang of. I mean he’s got some good combos and great specials but eh, his style just doesn’t suit me.

Favorite DS3 characters so far:
-Victor
-Felicia

Felicia rocks. I wish her DF1 were better (Kitty Helper) but when you’re back is against the wall and you only need one or two more hits to win the match, it gets the job done. And sticking to the sides of the screen is tight.

Victor is teh ownage. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I usually don’t take to well to slow-moving characters but Victor has some awesome specials and combos. And the throw where he uses his butt cheeks is too good. I won against my bro-in-law who was using Morrigan. Now my bro-in-law is the best dude I know (in person) at fighting games and if I can best him with Victor, well there’s no telling what I can do if I really sit down with the big dude. However, I’ve spent some time beating DS3 with different fighters (Victor, Jedah, Felicia, Victor, Demitiri) so I probably know the game better than my bro-in-law.

Just borrowed a copy of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. Not a fan of Raiden, but I’m loving the wonky plot and the hiding people in lockers.

Well it happend. It was only a matter of time before it happend again. Super Smash Bros. Melee has me in it’s grasp yet again. Hearing Million talk about just made me think about the game and thinking about the game gave me the urge to play it. So I played a few rounds last night. I’m not skilled enough to battle LV 7 CPU opponents but if I keep at it, I’ll get there. Has anyone tried playing with no items? I thoguht about doing it to see how many KOs I can score. God only knows how many KOs I’ve gotten because of the Homerun Bat. MAybe I’ll mix things up with Bomb-Ombs and PokeBalls. Custom scenarios are just great in Melee. IMO, Melee is still the best game on the GC. If I were alone on an island and I could only have one GC game with me, SSB Melee would be that game.

Been playing SVC: Card Fighters Clash on my Neo-Geo Pocket Color on and off for the last week or so. Today I put some cards in the trade machine, and went to the bathroom. When I got back, tI ended up with an S rank card [Akari§]. I should go to the bathroom more often I guess.

Me and a friend have also been going through the bootleg of Halo 2 on our modboxes. Halo 1 wasn’t revolutionary by any means in my eyes, but it delivered straight-up fun.

Unfortunately, Halo 2 shits on the fun, and usually bores us to tears.
Pros
-Graphics are tasty (I couldn’t care less).
-Soundtrack is pretty good.
-Sound is also good.
-You can Dual Wield most guns (meaning a gun in both hands, teehee).
-The game is definitely oriented for mass deathmatches, and Xbox Live.
Cons
-Campaign mode. Terrible level design, boring as hell story, IT. JUST.DOESN’T.END.
-Other than the Energy Blade, all of the new weapons suck ass (not ability-wise, coolness-wise).
-Melee damage is non-existant.
-You don’t have a fucking health bar. Once your shield is gone, you’ll never know how close to death you are.

If you’re looking to play it for campaign mode, co-op or single, I would highly highly HIGHLY suggest you rent it first. If you’re looking for multiplayer and Xbox Live, you probably won’t be disappointed. As for me, I’m definitely waiting for a price drop before I buy it.

Before any blind fanboys (haven’t seen too many on srk, but there’s bound to be a few) start typing longwinded rants about my opinions, put that idiotic hatred towards something useful, because I don’t give two shits about anything you have to say.

Heh, Card Fighters was my first NGPC game as well also. I got the SNK version. Tell ya one thing though, I want Megaman for NGPC! Unfortunately, I heard it’s on Dracula X Rondo of Blood level of being expensive.

Dark Arms: Beast Buster 1999 kicks ass though.

Finally beat Metroid Prime, just around 10 hours, but I dont know if the time clock pauses when you pause the game/idle on the map screen. I tend to pause, go do something else, and then come back to a game ALOT.

Next up will probably be Mario Sunshine or Wind Waker.

On a side note, I’m getting BACK into IIDX for the 30th time or something. I got a new controller and 7th style, and I’ve been playing that recently. Still a fun game

I beat Viewtiful Joe on Adults as Joe this weekend. I’m now at the beginning of Episode 5 as Silvia, also on Adults. I’ll wait on V-Rated until my second playthrough as Joe. I’m really looking forward to playing Alastor, though, he sound like a challenge, but very fun.

Well, I beat him without looking it up. But after beating him, I did check a FAQ and discovered that my method was much longer than neccessary. I played up through to the part where he starts doing the pink whirlwind attack like normal, and then just kept double jumping over the whirlwind and Slow-Zoom punched him until I dodge a paw, then backed off until my VFX gauge refilled and repeated. This way he never actualy stopped doing the whirlwind attack, though each punch’s damage was miniscule and this method took ages. After beating him, I looked up a FAQ and discovered that five susccessful evades would leave him truly vulnerable.

Oh, well. The only thing that I didn’t beat/figure out on my own was what to do with the train. I had to look that up.

Hearing everyone talk about GTA: SA and GTAA made me want to play some Vice City. I caused trouble around town, killed cops, FBI agents, the army, the works. I evaded those fools for like 20 mins. Used a code to get the tank. Then things really got good. Too bad it takes forever to blow up other tanks. GAH!! I want SA and GTAA sooooooooooo bad!!! :wow:
