That’s been a problem in all of the 3D Sonics. It was certainly improved for Heroes, but still has its problems. But anyway, stick with it. There’re some very fun levels (IMO: All Sonic levels except Final Rush, all Shadow levels, Lost Colony, Cosmic Wall, Eternal Engine)
Well Reggie about SvC Chaos, in case you haven’t noticed, seemingly 90% of SRK bashes the game so much it’s almost a fad to hate it, so it’s really a double-edged sword at your own judgment. Crude hit detection, can’t make teams like King of Fighters or VS. games, and Zero (Megaman Zero) is one broken ass character.
I personally think it’s alright, it was sorta interesting to see how the Street Fighters would do in a King of Fighters-type atmosphere. Sure matches end a little too quick. In place of teams it’s like bosses in various beat em’ ups like Final Fight, lifelines for characters have multiple layers of colors.
I’m getting it simply to add to my fighting game collection…and its on LIVE also…shrug.
16 posts away from the big 1000.
Big up Reggie. You earned the respect.
W00t! I owe it all to the SKRers that game on. Thanks to you all, this has been my best and longest thread of ANY gaming forum.
So 90% of SRK hates SVC? Ouch. I’ll probably still pick it up for not at the $50 price tag. I thought it would be $30 or $40 at least.
I picked up Samurai Showdown III for PSone today for $20 with instructions. I was curious about the game and thought I’d pick it up. I mean, I doubt it is arcader perfect or anything but it just intrigued me.
I also started playing DBZ: Buu’s Fury today. Thus far I’ve played as Goku and Gohan. Gohan was much cooler when he was 9 and killed Cell. His first day of high school he’s wearing some lame monkey suit clothes like he’s ready to meet the president. What’s up with that. :lame: Goku should have just blasted Chi-Chi with a huge Ki blast so the family would have been spaired from being nerds. Even crooks make fun of him in this Great Saiyaman costume. “I don’t know what’s funnier, your name or your outfit. What’s with the attenai on that helment? Do you get the Titans game on there?” But really, that custome does SUCK!! The music is great and some tracks have been recycled from LOGII–a good thing.
First post in the thread!
I want to go buy Tales of Symphonia for GC, but I feel bad because I shouldnt be spending money, and I have a ton of other games on GC that I haven’t beaten yet. I have a terrible habit of not finishing any games I start… I think its because of my short attention span. I want to say that my favorite type of games are fighting and rpg, but since I never finish any, its probably more like fighting and puzzle, things you can pick up and play, even after months downtime. So I got tired of not being able to finish any games, so I picked out a random game from a pile on the floor, and it turned out to be Dead to Rights, a sad excuse for a game. Thanks Namco!
Super linear game progression, subpar graphics, lame story = bad times. But I’m determined to beat it, without cheat codes. I’m on chapter… 13/15? I’ve only put 4 hours into it, but I think I’m really close to the end. Let’s hope I’m really really close.
Cliffnotes: Don’t play Dead to Rights.
Second day playing DBZ: Buu’s Fury. Gohan just got his energy sucked dry at the World Tournment and now I’m after Babibi and his Majin thugs. So basically the story finally got serious. Again, the music contiues to own. I’m pretty sure all of the music is from the dubbed version of the show (which IMO is worlds better than the crap in the subbed version) so it sounds very good. Even if you aren’t using headphones it comes out crystal clear on the tiny GBA speaker–provided you aren’t in a noise-filled area. I can’t wait to play as SS3 Goku and Vegito.
At last, GGX2#Reload is finally in my household.
That’s not all. When I saw that Gradius V was 30 bucks, I copped that along with it too.
What a day. Got just two of the most anticipated launch games of 9/15/04.
Guilty Gear X2 #Reload and Fable for XBox, and Gradius V for PS2.
Seeing as my area is still getting ass fucked with our pants down by the Tele Media Prince George Branch by still not having high speed internet while our neighboring areas has had theirs for 3 years, I won’t be able to play on Live!. Wish I could.
I picked up Reload and Gradius as well!
Gradius is…everything I thought it would be. Even old remixed tunes are included during gameplay.
I totally forgot GV was coming out today!! I’ll pick it up with my next check. Can’t wait to play that one.
DBZ Buu’s Fury continues to impress with its amazing musical score. The theme from Babidi’s space ship sounds even bette than it does on the anime series. I just got done fighting Majin Vegeta and Buu has been released. Right now I’m on my way to Babidi’s ship to destroy it and fight Buu. There’s a nice weapon system that allows you to equip heavy armor that downs some of your states but gives you more exp as a reward. This makes leveling up a breez.
Currently playing Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. Playing Hyper SF2 takes me back to times of playing SF2 @ the grocery store and almost getting left there.
playing some Killer Instinct Classic stuff. TJ Combo is so fun.
Go for it! It seems like each place I called looking for it only got 2 or 3 copies.
Reggie, when you play this game, you will absolutely SHIT. $30, you can’t beat that!
Playing Otogi 2 on my Xbox… can’t wait til its released stateside (I downloaded the jap version, have I mentioned I love my Xbox?)
:badboy:
Limited copies of Gradius V? Noooooooooooo!! :wow: Oh well. I’ll find a copy no matter what.
DBZ Buu’s Fury. Strage how I like this game better than LOGII, especially since I think the Cell Saga was better than the Buu Saga. Oh well. Vegeta did his self destruct attack agaisnt Fat Buu. Man it was tight. Too bad it didn’t do jack to Buu. Now I have access to Goten and Trunks and I’m looking for the Dragon Balls.
There’s a mice little Z-Fighter Exzibit extra where you collect different DBZ items. So far I have Gohan’s Training Sword (that Piccolo gave him after he went ape), Goku’s Power Pole, and Ginyu’s Ship.
Finally beat Dead to Rights today. It took around 5 hours + gamqfaqs [for a couple bosses], but I’m finally finished.
I wanted to start another GameCube game that I hadn’t really played before, and decided on Beyblade, another purchase during Circuit City’s 5 dollar sale. I’ve never watched the series, but judging from the game, I don’t want to.
Considering the game is probably aimed towards little kids, its pretty difficult. There are charts and menus and crap that I’m sure most children wouldn’t understand. The gameplay itself is really limited. Apparently there isn’t much skill involved in “spinning tops.” I might plug a few more hours into it though, until I build up a half decent… Bey? Beyblade? I don’t even know what the little things are called.
In other news, I seem to have misplaced Zelda, Metroid Prime, and Ikaruga, easily 3 of the best games on GC. :shake:
Hm, I’ve mostly been playing FFX-2. The game was so damn annoying at first, but it’s getting better ever so gradually. I’m almost done with chapter 2 en route to 100% completion. I’m also playing 3s on PS2. I’m trying to get better with Ryu. I don’t care what anyone says…I’m using his SA2 over his SA1. I’m ok, but I gotta learn how to parry more than just jump ins and projectiles.
The past two weeks I’ve picked up these games from Fry’s Electronics:
Star Ocean 3 ($39.99)
Phantom Brave ($39.99)
SF-AC ($24.99)
Silent Hill 4 ($29.99)
I love Fry’s…they always sell new games cheaper than anyone else, but the sale only lasts for like 4 days. Not only do I have to play those games, but I have sooooooo many other games to beat. Next on my list to beat after FFX-2:
Persona 2
Valkyrie Profile
Disgaea
Silent Hill 3
Heck, I never beat Star Ocean 2 yet…I’m all the way at the end, but heh. sigh internet + on-line games have put me WAY behind on my game playing.
I finished up the MM Collection yesterday by beating MM4. That next-to-last boss still pisses me off like no other, even the cheap-ass MM7 final boss.
I’ve kinda been on a Metroid kick recently. I just played Hard Mode on Prime for the first time. It doesn’t seem any harder yet. I downed the Space Pirate Frigate and then saved and quit when I got to the surface of Tallon IV. I also just bought Metroid Fusion to play on my GBAsp between work and school. The story is hella stupid, but as long as it keeps to the OG Metroid gameplay I’ll be okay. Also, looking through the Metroid History section of Fusion, I started wondering where Prime falls story-wise. The only place that makes sense to me is immediately following original/Zero Mission and before Return of Samus. Can anyone confirm for me? Also, since I’ve beaten original Metroid, should I pick up Zero Mission or is it hardly any different?
Just got GGXX#R today and am loving it, even online. The connection can suck and the connections can kick ass for the games that’s all I gotta say.
peace.
I’m already deep into Final Fantasy X. The game seems pretty good to me. It might actually surpass FF VIII as my fave FF game. I was like :shake: at the whole Tidus-Yuna scene in the Scalania Woods. Truly a classic!
As for group games, my friends and I are currently playing the shit out of World Soccer Winning Eleven 7 (whew!). It’s truly a great soccer game that blows any FIFA game out of the water. We have already scheduled a tournament for tonight. My Italy shall be beastin’. :badboy:
