About time!! Game’s been in developement limbo since the stone age.
It even has a two player mode. I can’t wait to play this game.
7 more weeks until Ace Combat 5!
currently playing… nothing. at school
will be playing kirby’s dream coures and neo geo bomberman`
I just got burnout 3 last night and i’ve played it for a few hours now.
The crash physics are alot better, and the cars have a new kind of shimmer to them. kind of like the car is covered in EXTREMELY hi gloss photo paper. Or just oil.
the car crash models themselves are awesome. Lots of sparks and individual parts of cars falling off. I pushed the hood of another car that wrecked for about 10 seconds.
The main thing I LOVE about this game is the sense of speed. Burnout 2 had an awesome sense of speed, but this one just takes it to the next level.
The music is decent, you all know how EA likes to get licensed music for their games. Hip Hop definitley wouldnt work so they went with mostly rock and alternative. I listen to alot of music, mainly rap, and I enjoy a couple of songs on the soundtrack. None of them really get in the way or anything. But of course on xbox you can make a custom soundtrack.
The DJ is kind of lame, but its an EA game. What do you expect?
Thanks for posting some impressions on Burnout 3. I was a HUGE fan ot B2: POI. The sense of speed in that game was just unreal. And you say B3 tops it? Sweeeeeeeet. I saw the commercial for B3 and I was like “That game is going to be so freaking tight.” Since I don’t have an Xbox I’ll be picking up the PS2 version. As long as there is no music from Uncle Ritz (Cracker), I’m cool with the tunes.
It has been DAYS since I’ve played a game other than SFAC. I played Mega Man Battle Network for a while today. I’m still in Dentown solving the traffic problems. Right now Mayl is on runaway bus that I’m trying to stop. I’m betting theres a net navi behind the screwed up traffic and buses. Has to be Turbo Man. Will I be right? I’ll find out soon.
Beat Luigi’s Mansion today. Pretty short game, but it was pretty fun too. I enjoyed it. My money score gave me the second best house that you can get at the end of the game.
Reggie- alot of my friends were huge fans of B2 as well. The sense of speed is outta here, You start feeling that tunnel vision effect. In snowy areas, everything just starts to turn white, which makings driving in the oncoming pretty dangerous. going neck and neck with a racer, and shoving him into an oncoming 18 wheeler is THE most satisfying sensation I’ve ever had in a videogame.
Started SH4 today, so far so good. Seems to be much better than 3 in terms of fucked-upness, but I’ll have to play it through before I make my final opinion.
I was out shopping today and I picked up the SFAC strategy guide. This guide is LOADED with tons of stuff. It goes in FULL detail on every fighter in HSFII and 3S. This could very well be the best guide I’ve ever bought. I’m finding out things about characters I didn’t even know of. The next time I play my buddy Will in SF, I’m going to own him for free. FOR FREE!! :badboy:
I picked up Jet Set Radio Future for $4.99 new and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle new for $19.99. I also found a copy of Ninja Gaiden III for $5.99. I think I’ll start SA2B soon because I’ve wanted to play a platformer for a while now and my GC has been gathering dust.
GL with that. Overall it’s a fun game, but a few things are irritating, and getting a 100% file is very, very time consuming.
I’m at 167/180 emblems myself, with the file clock at 67 hours. I still have to get 4 Chao Racing, 3 Chao Karate, the all "A"s for Sonic (of which I still need 3 "A"s), and everything for Cannon’s Core except 1st Mission.
I think I may get back on that tomorrow, now that I’ve beaten Luigi’s Mansion.
I really enjoyed the first Sonic Adventure and I was waiting to pick up SA2B. When I saw it for $20 at Circuit City, I figured now was as good a time as any. I don’t know about completing the game 100%, though. I think I’ll just beat it with all the characters. Unless of course someone has some sucky levels like Big The Cat. :lame:
Nothing anywhere near as bad as Big the Cat. However, the tresure hunting levels for Knuckles and Rouge can be frustrating, especially at first. In order to get all the "A"s, I spent a lot of time learning those levels and now I don’t think that they’re so bullshit anymore, but at first they seemed stupid.
In this game, the levels are divided up by “Hero” and “Dark” (Villain), so you have to play all the characters.
I had to put Xenogears on the back burner. My friend I borrowed the game from and his gf just got kicked out of his house by his grandma for some stupid shit, and had to give the game back to him.
Anyone down with the Sega Master System?
I pulled that shit out from underneath my bed, and played
>Astro Warrior
>Shinobi (which I beat in 15 minutes without dying. wow can’t believe I still got the skill)
>Golden Axe Warrior
>Phantasy Star
>Rambo III (Best Light Phaser game ever!)
>Action Fighter (Spy Hunter + Xevious)
>Gangster Town
>Wonderboy III: Dragon’s Trap
>Ghouls n’Ghosts
>Zillion 1 and 2
>Cyborg Hunter
>beat Rampage
>Kenseiden
>Black Belt
okay, so is Astro Warrior the top-down shooter that came with SMS? My friend “Dumbass” has the Master System when we were kids, and that shooter game was tight…good graphics and cool music for the time…but it was a bit on the hard side. Anyway, I could never remember the name, and it has always irked me.
I think Black Belt may have been the other game that came with it…it was a sidescrolling beatemup where you were a typical karate hero in a white gi, and each boss battle went to a close-up shot so the characters were much bigger and easier to see…is that “Black Belt”? That game was also cool.
Playing Arc the Lad Twilight of the Spirits.
I dont really need to vent. Its simly one of the most mediocre RPGs ever.
its not bad but its not good. character designs are boring and uninspired. the story is boring and badly written, the dialogue is worse than the story. the battle system is fine, but not exciting. the character animation is overdone. the backgrounds are very nice actually. good textures.
i wouldnt reccommend it to anyone but the incredibly bored. medicore all the way around. I’m selling it as soon as I finish.
i have no idea what Im playing next.
yeah that’s Astro Warrior. The game never ends. Only 3 stages and repeats. One of those shooters from the 1980’s people played for prestige for their high scores not finishing to see a ending.
And also yeah, it’s Black Belt as well. It’s also one of those games that are really based on an anime, but gets graphically or namely bastardized in some way when being brought to the states.
U.N. Squadron = Area 88
M.U.S.C.L.E. for NES = Kinnikuman
Dragon Power = Dragon Ball
Black Belt (SMS), Last Battle (Sega Genesis) -Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star
Spellcaster (SMS) Mystic Defender (Genesis) = Kujaku Ou/Peacock King
I worked on my MM Collection this morning. When I first bought it, I beat MM8 because I had never played that one before, and then I kept getting sidetracked by other things. So this morning I sat down and beat 2, 3, 5, and 7. MM5 has always been my favorite MM game, and I was highly dissappointed when it unlocked absolutely NOTHING on the collection. Not one rewards for any of it. Additionally, I only got one thing for beating 3, which I also thought was bullshit since 3 is the longest one on there. But 2 and 7 unlocked 3 things each, and they’re easy as Hell and pretty short. WTF?
Also, some of the coloring seemed off on some of the levels, and they changed some text and added text that didn’t used to be there. Dr. Light says something totally different at the lab between Break Man and Wily’s Fortress in 3, and 5 now has text saying the names of the weapons during the upgrade clip, which it didn’t have before.
Well I’ve finished with the traffic scenario on Mega Man Battle Network. Turns out some idiot named ColorMan was behind the traffic problems and not Turbo Man. :lame: Despite his gay name and appearance, he was a bit tough to bring down but I did get like 3K for taking him out. Also I finally got WoodMan added to my collection of Net Navis. Too bad he only does 60 damage. Still it is nice to have him and I got a better version of NumberMan. This one does X20 damage to whatever number comes up on the dice when rolled.
I’m still playing Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. I missed two days of playing and I feel so…thirsty. Like a many who has been crawling in the desert for days without water. Well that’s all over now as I’m getting in a few games before work. Yang is THE MAN. Dude is so fast and I love his combos.
Speaking of Mega Man Collection, my greatest fear came true:
It was total replay of 9 years ago. On Megaman 7, final Wily’s scrubby-cheap ass sent me to the controller throwing zone making me use up all 4 of my E-tanks when I barely ever touch him cuz my weapons do so little damage. Anyone got tips on proper patterns and weapon weaknesses?
Currently catching up on more FFX-1, maxing out Level 1 spheres for Tidus and Co. on the Highroad making them nice n’ broken, and making 3S characters for Genei Jin practice punching bags out of anger for the last minute delay of Guilty Gear X2 NMidnight Carnival #Reload.
Word! Once you’ve mastered Yang, move on to Yun. He’s the Magneto of 3S.
Hey, coincidence! I’m practicing Yang as well!
Not much that you can do except use up all of your E-Tanks and your S-Tank. Anything that does hurt him will only deal one point of damage, except possibly charged Buster might do two (I can’t remember for certain). But I suggest using Rush Armor + Power Punch upgrade since you can’t always hit him with charged Buster and the flight from the Armor is useful for dodging. Learn to dodge the shots from his saucer as best as possible, though many of the patterns are, as near as I can tell, impossible to do so against. But a few can be dodge consistently with practice. If he appears at a location that you won’t be able to dodge the shots from, then try to get hit by the electric (yellow) orbs, they only do 4 damage. Fire (red) deals damage over time, and is likely to score 4-6 damage, but remember that you can mash out and I have occassionally even managed to only take 2 from fire. Ice (blue) is the worst to get hit by because it does 4 damage, and unless you mash out quickly you’ll take even more damage from the pulse across the ground afterwards. At any rate, just keep plugging away and be prepared to use up all your E-Tanks, and remember that the S-Tank also restores health. If you use up your tanks, go back to the Auto/Eddie shop and buy more.
