…Really? I thought he was for sure…
he wasnt really that hard for me,oh well.
why dont they just make this a sticky thread?
My DS game collection is slowly growing. Today I picked up Super Mario 64 DS and Meteos. Those scrubs at GameStop/Funcoland wanted $34.99 for Meteos (same with WarioWare: Touched! and Kirby’s Canvas Curse). I thought it was robbery but I got it anyway. As for how Meteos is, I really can’t say. I’ve been having too much fun playing SM64DS. It took some getting used to controlling at first but I’ve got the hang of it now. And playing as Yoshi is just killer. I can eat my enemies and turn them into eggs. To bad you can only carry one egg at a time.
I just defeated the Goomba Boss and unlocked Mario. As fun as it is to play using Yoshi, there’s just something about using Mario in this game that feels right. And it rocks to hear SM64 tunes again.
GJ on copping Meteos and 64DS. Definitely get Kirby, too. It’s the DS’ most killer app at the moment.
I was playing Meteos earlier today. I still have to buy 4 planets and a few soundtracks, though I’m not sure how many of those. Star Trip and Simple are great fun, and so is vs. play. I don’t really feel Time War or Deluge, though.
Nah, he isn’t as beastly and can’t really take you out in the first few seconds unlike Omega.
Finally got back into playing FFVI. Just met Strago and Relm. I was in the burning house and encountered the fire boss unprepared and died:sad:
Time to try again.
i have 3 planets more to get, meteos and brabbit are ready to be bought, but i cant figure out what the last planet is.And i havent bought any sound tracks yet,ill leave getting those after ive gotten the important stuff like planets and items. And i would say meteos and kirby are tied at being the best games on ds and psp.
hey, reggiehadoken, have you played ff2 yet?be warned, its very different and was very hard compared to one,i needed to resort to dirty tricks in order to get past the later levels. If you want to know them, feel free to ask me.One of the nice things is that unlike most rpgs, the instant death spells actually work on even the tougher monsters. And any character can learn any spell and use every weapon,so its very non-linear.
P.S.in ff1,in one of the extra dungeons, i got this dagger called gladius, which i think is the strongest weapon for your black mage,1 point stronger than the cat claws.Has anyone gotten this or any other powerful rare weapons?
I played FFII for a bit on the PS1 in FF Origins. You are correct, the game is VERY different from most FF. I mean, every FF is different but this is serious stuff different. I didn’t play for very long because I got into other games but I plan to stick with FFII in FFI&II: DOS. It may take some time, but I hope to addapt to the whole new system in FFII.
So I just recently grabbed Jak & Daxter off the cheap rack. Pretty fun. Jak 2 worth playing as well? And do you ever get to play as Daxter? He’s cooler than Jak, IMO.
And finally, Keira is all kinds of hot.
cool, you should get into it ff2,its better later on when you understand the system, tons and tons of depth.but do you have an answer to the question?
All the Jak games are worth playing. Personally, I think Jak 3 is better than Ratchet and Clank 3.
Jak seems more non-linear and you get to roam around more and explore environments.
Woo hoo just bought the chicago type writer ak47 on resident evil 4 now I am fucking people up everywhere left and right firing up chicago style
Anybody know what kind of other shit you get after beating the mini mercenary games ?? Is there more weapons for the main game ??
…There are strengths and weaknesses to the FF2 system…
…Strengths: Leveling up your characters is very simple. In fact, you could use your own party to do so, simply target one of your party members with another one and keep attacking him/her. This would/will benefit both characters stats fairly quickly because the system depends on all stats that you use or receive…so the more you use them or take damage from them, the better you get at it. This goes for other abilities, such as high evasion and/or critical…
…Weaknesses: The flaws of the system of FF2 drastically changes the setting depending on your whereabouts in the game. Often times, you cannot go certain places because monsters would take your party out instantly…giving you no chance whatsoever. This makes it difficult just who to train or lv. up, because training on FF2 is a very slow process. Often times, leveling up your magic spell could take weeks if not months to properly be at full strength (I think the highest is lv. 16). Just because something sounds simple doesn’t mean it would be done quickly, pacing your time and efforts is the key (lets face it, nobody really doesn’t want to play FF2 all day trying to level up spells and such)…
Try this. It worked for me on my original Famicom FF2. I haven’t played my FF2 in a long time, I finally got to Pandemonium and then my Famiclone starting fucking up and erased my data on its own.
Best way to gain HP and MP faster:
> For HP, Divide your current maximum HP by a half and just simply hit yourselves until you’re under half.
> For MP, divide current max MP by a half and use up your magic until you’re under half.
>The price of inns I think changes depending on how low on power you are.
SAVE after every battle. in case you want all your members on the same sheet of music when leveling up, reset/reload the game if you accidently kill one of your party members with a critical hit.
…Hmmm, I thought that only applies to your whereabouts in the game - I’ll go back and check probably today…
I just looked at an FAQ. I stand corrected. this is the part about inns
“There is no doubt in my mind that you will need to visit an Inn. Here’s a
method to save time and gil: Upon entering the Inn of your choice, use
cure on all of your characters until they are all at maximum HP. Then pay
the innkeeper. This way, you will save money seeing as the price for Inns
has to do with your current HP/MP out of your maximum HP/MP. It costs
1 gil per MP. HP is Max HP-Current HP divided by four. Also, it will
increase the strength of your cure spell”
I’d have to say, this gamplay engine that runs on randomness is pretty gay, but fun once you know what you’re doing.
Piece of trivia, Final Fantasy 2j is a prelude to the Romancing Saga gameplay engine.
Man, Super Turbo never gets old, it’s starting to become like Gameboy Tetris in its longevity. :wow:
it depends also on how low you are on hp and mp,hp takes more gil to cure then mp.And also,is it just me,or is the ultima spell not that good compared to holy and flare? They were both at around the same level and holy and flare were stronger,my maria knew holy and ultima, and holy was just stronger. And yeah,ff2s system does have its flaws,i never said it was perfect, but i like how much depth it has.
About to go pick up God Of War and rivera on gba, good gaming times here i come.
