Yeah, that is sorta “the glitch”. There is this long hall in the 5th floor…at the end of it, there is 1-in-64 chances that you might stumble upon the Death Machine/WarMech, who indeed, is tougher than Tiamat. Think of him as the first “way-tough hidden boss” in FF history.

Yeah, that’s the “glitch” from the first FF game.

In the 5th floor, there is this long hall. At the end of it, you have one chance in 64 that Death Machine/WarMech appears. And yes, he is undoubtedly tougher than Tiamat (I consider him at the same level as the final boss). I guess this is technically the first “hidden-toughass-boss” in the FF series

Thankfully I didn’t run into that thing. Although in the NES version I think I may have but I really can’t recall it all that well.

I finished the first of the bonus dungeons in FFI, the Earthgift Shrine. Man, that place was annoying. So freaking random were the level layouts and the purple forest area had the highest number of random encounters I’ve seen in the game. Two steps RANDOM BATTLE!! Fights over. One step RANDOM BATTLE!! That crap was really irritating. And even more irksome was the fact that if you wanted to kill all four bosses (Echinda, Cerebrus, Two Headed Dragon, Ahriman) you had to go through that freaking dungeon FOUR TIMES!! BULL!! SCREW!! Thing is, I actually did just that. I guess that’s my hardcore gaming moment for the day. The other dungeons better not be that ridiculous.

Doesnt earthgift have 5 floors? There is one i know it has like 10-20. I think i need to play this again just need to remember which hidden dungeons i didnt finish.

…Earthgift indeed has five floors. I remember there was this desert in earthgift that drove me fucking crazy because I didn’t know where to go and the frequent number of battles = :wasted: :annoy:…

I’m playing Splinter Cell for Xbox right now. Game pisses me off some times. Like in the Chinese Embassy where you have to drop from a pipe right next to a Colonel and subdue him. It takes 10 minutes just to get to the Colonel, and then if he hears you drop, he turns around and you can’t subdue him. 10 more minutes, he sees you again, etc.

Took me about an hour to realize you have to HOLD B while you drop so you land quietly. Thanks Ubisoft!

Hey Lantis, any advice for Heaven or Hell difficulty? I’m thinking about tackling it, but I’m not sure if I have the skills.

are the bosses one hit too?

More than likely, but I’m not certain.

I was thinking that I could possibly use Super Dante + Quicksilver. It’d be cheap, but so is dying in one hit in that game.

UC2—over at the “epic boards”, I’ve learned some interesting things in my short time there…

Wraith = one of the best powerup forms in the history of gaming…check the commentary:

Playing GGXX#r on my PS2 trying to practice Axl Low bomber loops. Hard as hell cause you have to do a Z motion in mid air a split second after you jump off the ground.

I could only pass the first 2 levels before I got owned repeatedly by Cerberus who I THINK also engages into DT mode. And I was using Super Dante… maybe someone with some mad Quicksilver skills can get through it, but I just couldn’t do it anymore. Bear in mind…Vital Stars are no longer neccesary since one hit = death, so don’t worry about spending red gems on those. Maybe you could need some Yellow Orbs for good measure…

But that difficulty level is for the hardcore only. Try at your own risk.

Oh I’ve been using my Nintendo Player’s Guide to get through FFI. It’s help me to avoid dead ends and save me some uneeded random battles. But the desert in the Earthgift Shrine was still a pain. Some parts of it look the same so even with a map it can be tricky to tell just where you’re at.

I did some more Battle Mode in Bomberman DS this afternoon on my way to work. Team battle was fun but I enjoying doing single-man matches. That and my teamates have zero reguard for my safety. One idiot just walked past me and planted a bomb near me like I was the enemy. And I heart the Remote Control item.

Yeah they do, HoH is a joke. Everything dies in one hit, so just spamming E&I gets you through 99% of the difficulty easy. The only difficult part is mission 8 and avoiding all the acid but you can just use Nevan’s Air Raid ability to fly over it.

It’s basically a mode for if you want to see the cutscenes easily.

WTF? HoH makes you die in one hit, not enemies!

EDIT: Holy shit! Enemies really do die in one hit! E&I spamming for the win!

Dante and enemies/bosses can die in one hit, “Heaven” (enemies dying one hit) or “Hell” (you), get it?

I put way too much time into DMC3 to not know how the difficulties work.

Really? I thought it was just my Super Dante cheezing out! :xeye:

I thought all the l33t Axl players tiger kneed those bombers. Am I wrong?

Yeah, yeah. I already corrected that man. Check my post again.

And incidentally, I just finished that in one 2 hour sitting. Had mad cash by the end, enough to fully stock up on Yellow Orbs (99). I now have my entire inventory maxed out except for Holy Water (shit is way more expensive than it’s worth).

i stopped dmc3 at the 4th level on dmd, i should pick it up again and finish it. i entered the cheat to try out hoh first week i got the game and i was just busting out equilibrium ass kicking with gunslinger heh.
