Uh no as for the question, but you’ll really enjoy the game later on. make sure you travel throughout the entire dungeon in each area cuz you may need to get the goods. Also try to start inventing items as well. I’m no too sure about Grandia 2 system but ST3 is a wonderful experience. I played the game since it first came out (08/31/2004) and i just sold it about a week ago. Over 200 hours worth of play. Yes it can be that long since there are an additional set of dungeons at the end of the game and the bosses and enemies are pretty rough.
I just finished X-men legends and getting into Psi-ops. X-men is surprisingly good and Psi-ops is at the same status as well.
I think that the story and character designs sound very interesting. But most of what I have heard about the actual gameplay sounds very… I dunno how to describe. Just very weird in a sort of frustrating way. Like a lot of little things that would kinda get on my nerves.
…I can’t use my Eliwood because he is too weak ( low lv. ). My hector can cause great damage but if I risk him dying then it’s game over ( same for eliwood ).
I usually have no other choice but to keep Athos alive along with Lord Pent. Pent can cure athos from a safe distance, while athos attacks with Aureola…
If you have a Psychic staff, let Pent or whatever healer you have use it on injured units. And Renault has a Fortify staff on him, so trade it off to someone who can use it. Fortify completely heals all of the units in the area.
Oh yeah, Lyn with Sol Katti can damage Nergal too, but that’s if she’s strong enough to do it. Usually that isn’t the case.
…I could of purchase a fortify staff, but I ran out of money in order to do so. Someone told me you can actually get it early by some secret shops or something like that. So yeah, I have no choice but to use the psychic staff…
…Nergal is protected by a druid who can cast berserk on my characters. That guy really screws up my rotation - battle formations. He confuses my characters to attack their own, damn magic!..
…My Lyn is not strong enough to take on any of the people on the last chapter. She’ll die if so, which makes it even harder for me…
Hmmm… I guess you can carry around some Restore staves if someone gets hit with a Berserk. Yeah, the staves that you need for that chapter are Psychic, Fortify, and Restore.
And send out the Falco Knights or a Bishop to kill the Druids quick before they can use the staves.
The Game is pretty long, i’ve put almost 5 hrs into the game and i’m only on the third mission (out of 9). Also, like i said earliar it’s the boss fights are by far the most original i’ve ever seen.
I’d just like to say that Mercenaries is now one of my all time favorite games. I’m only half way thru it, and i havent played it in about a week but still. For those that haven’t played it, i recommend.
has it gotten boring though for you yet? is it feeling stale already somewhat? the concept sounds cool but the rail situation gives me the impression its a just a looooong time crisis game.
heh its like i keep trying to find excuses not to buy a gamecube.
I’ll be honest. I’m not really enjoying it as much as i thought i would, but i am still enjoying. The rails aren’t really a big deal, you most likely never really notice them.
ah, I keep forgetting about Psi-Ops…I WILL get that game one day…
here’s yet more proof that I perhaps obsess over superpowers/games too much: for the past few days I’ve been pondering a dilemma; Crypto’s(DestroyAllHumans) powers or BROCK(UnrealChamp2)'s powers? Yes, you read right…I’ve actually been rolling this idea around in my head for DAYS now. It’s so close too…Crypto’s psychic powers are just too good…but then Brock has the whole vampire deal going on, and each one of his powers would be awesome when applied to real life.(*except Fear, since nobody else has powers I would need to shut down)…as well as presumed immortality. Besides being actually useful…“Wraith” and “Ethereal” simply LOOK cool…but on the other hand there is Crypto’s awesome psychic powers…mind manipulation + telekinesis…and his powers recharge naturally at a much faster rate…
my friend keeps pestering me to get PSO for Xbox so we can play that over LIVE…I just can’t do it.
I already have PSO …actually, I “kinda” have it twice already.(DC version and the GC ep.1and2)
What the hell was Sonic Team thinking with STILL having a Hunter’s License fee for the Xbox version? That + the Live fee…fuck that, it’s like I’m paying TWICE for the same damn service. Nobody in their right mind would pay 2 monthly bills for cable tv, right? Imagine you get a bill from Time Warner…it’s 50. You paid it…then you get another bill for the same month…the same set of channels…and it’s 20. What the hell? Live’s existence as a fee-based service is supposed to cover things. I love PSO still, but not enough to pay this much for it.
*plus, I can’t do my wonderful shop-glitch magic on that version. No glitchy shop lady, no deal.
Just like the GC version, there is still the 8.95/month Hunter’s License. I seriously doubt it’s as popular as the GC version online…and both sides of that community should be pretty dead by now…
-the game is quite a few years old now.
-that new PSUniverse is on the horizon.(*oh lookee there…ANOTHER Ps2 exclusive! Dammit how does Sony do it? Heh, and look how that turned out…PSU was so disappointing.)
-On Live, there’s many more alternatives, like Halo 2, Unreal Champ 2, Mechassault, etc. (GC players simply don’t have a choice of what to play online. THANKS Nintendo. <*note: I realize they’ve changed their stance for the upcoming gen actually, they haven’t changed much…, but it was a bit stupid to let their competitors get started on the online thing. Going back further, even DC had the online gaming thing in full effect.) If a sweaty anus could speak japanese, what would you aks it?
…I have a restore staff, but its about to break ( I kept using it on a chapter where the enemies kept poisoning my characters ). I have alot of Psychic spells to use, so that’s good if not great. No Fortify staffs…
…However, I have a ton of elxiers to use that merlinus has in his trade shop or whatever, so I can use those when I need them…
…The chapter is hard. Uhai strikes twice with his Rienfleche, and it takes pretty good damage - How can I beat him without losing any characters? ( He has some snipers guarding him too )
