The "Currently Playing" Game Thread-Discuss Your Games, Vent, Give Props, etc

Well theres nothing really out yet. Wait till Dragon Warrior 8 and Kingdom Hearts 2 comes out.

In a good way. Some of scenes in the this game is brilaiant and utterly shocking. If any of you ever get it, wait until you see the scene with the Two older men meeting with the younger man.
:wow:

Yeah, Killer7 is pretty messed up. I still haven’t figured out wtf the game is about, just been running around with the guy in the mask that has the double grenade launcher or whatever they are.

Pretty annoying how it shows a cutscene every time you reload though.

I think reloading cutscenes are pretty cool.

I’m playing Clock Tower on the SNES right now. It is dope and scary.

Is that the game where a serial killer with big scissors chases you and you have to hide?

Well my party of FFI (FFI&II: DOS) is doing pretty well. I got some new weapons and armor and even my Thief, Rocke is doing 200 HPs of damage to the regular monsters on the world map. I never thought a Thief would be able to do the same level of damage (or more) than a Monk. It really is surprising. Maybe it was because I never stuck with a Thief long in the NES version but I always thought they sucked, Locke from FFVI being the exception.

I just got the Canoe and I’m leveling up my party for Mt. Glug or whatever it’s called to fight the Fire Fiend. If Lich was that tough (see my post on the previous page), I can only imagine what the Fire Fiend will be like. I’m not gonna be caught in the same bad, one-Ether-scenario this time. That was brutal. I was fortunate not to lose anyone during the battle with Lich.

I’m also gonna tackle those bonus dungeons. I want all the extra goodies and I want to be able to say I completed everything in the game. But I may wait until I get my character class upgrades first. I think you get those sometime after you get the second crystal/orb lit.

As for Bomberman DS, multiplayer is where it’s at. I’m tore between remote bombs and slime bombs. Remote bombs = unltra tier. Seriously, back in the SNES days of Super Bomberman, when I played with my buddies, everyone would crap themselves when someone got the remote control bombs. Heh, we called them “heart bombs” back then. But in Super Bomberman 2, I discovered the possiblities of slime bombs with the addition of a kick. Kick + slimbe bombs = unefwitable!

I dunno. That sounds to me like it would get pretty annoying. It’s like a break in the action.

damn i wonder if it will be worth buying killer7

For some reason I’m completely fascinated with just how hard Killer 7 will bomb. It’s like I’m mesmerized by it…transfixed…almost…obsessed. Just like with the Michael Jackson trial. It’s fun to watch just like it was fun to watch that classic footage of the Hindenberg going down in flames.

The gameplay was enough to keep me far away…but damn…a cutscene each time you reload? It’s like Capcom tried to make this game terrible.

LOL at the daily FF1 updates

LOL I used to do the same thing when I was a kid!! Except I would make video tapes of my really good time trial runs in Mario Kart. I wonder what ever happened to those tapes… probably sitting in a landfill somewhere. Man I used to be absolutely obsessed with video games when I was a kid. Well… I still am obsessed with games but just not nearly to the degree I was when I was 12-16.

FFT isn’t raping my brain as severely as it used to, but it’s still there. Stabby’s on using Monks advice worked, I’m just here to extend my thanks and appreciation.

Since you’re like the Fire Emblem master, I have to ask you a question. Who is the best lord? I mean yeah Hector>>>Eliwood in the first FE, but in SS, is Eirika better than Ephraim or vice versa. I know that Eirika is basically a Lyn/Eliwood-ish sword user, and she normally gets criticals, but Ephraim’s Reginleif just demolishes all heavy armored units (including bosses)? Your choice? I stopped playing it because I bought the first FE, and I am playing that. You guys are right about Hector being a monster.

O___O @ Star Ocean 3

Graphics are good but just slightly above FFX. Everything is so big; i get in the towns if i don’t fixate my eyes on the map, but then i would pass up treasure chests and the like. I just went through the Krysla (sp?) ruins dungeon, it felt like i just went through a final dungeon. Maybe it’s because i play too many old school RPGs?

the Battle system is good, but i still likesGrandia 2’s system better (so far). I don’t have any abilities that are useful yet. All i do is spam Launcher–>Guile’s kick–>2 hits and 2 hits–>Blade of Fury It takes care of everything so far…

Doesn’t anyone think Sophia and Nel are hot?

Since you’re drawing comparisons to the Lords of FE7, here are the stat growths for Lyn and Eliwood:

Lyn
HP: 70%
Str: 40%
Skl: 60%
Spd: 60%
Luk: 55%
Def: 20%
Res: 30%

Eliwood
HP: 80%
Str: 45%
Skl: 50%
Spd: 40%
Luk: 45%
Def: 30%
Res: 35%

And here are the stat growths for Eirika and Ephraim:

Eirika
HP: 70%
Str: 40%
Skl: 60%
Spd: 60%
Luk: 60%
Def: 30%
Res: 30%

Ephraim
HP: 80%
Str: 55%
Skl: 55%
Spd: 45%
Luk: 50%
Def: 35%
Res: 25%

According to the stat growths, Eirika is basically Lyn with better defense, and Ephraim is Eliwood with better stat growths. It’s a shame that Ephraim and Eliwood have the same stat caps because Ephraim could easily surpass Eliwood with his growths. Anyway, I think Ephraim is the better Lord because his stats are more balanced than Eirika’s, since Eirika can be prone to having unbalanced stats like good defense, but low strength. Ephraim, on the other hand will either just be average or really good, depending on how the RNG treats you. Factor in that there are way more sword using enemies in that game than I remember, makes Ephraim the better Lord overall, but not by that much. In conclusion, Hector for the win.

You guys are blowing things WAY out of proportion. The reoading animation, only last for a couple of seconds (it depends on which character you have). Look at Burnout 3. That game has a cutscene when ever you crash into a car. Yet the action is still well paced.

…Fire Emblem master, I have another question = lol…

…Why does Ursula’s excalibur magic beat both of Athos’s Aureola and Nulblaze magic? She’s destroying my characters with Jerme!!!..

Like the weapons triangle, there’s a magic triangle. The magic triangle goes like this: Light beats Dark, Dark beats Anima, and Anima beats Light. Excalibur is an Anima tome, so it will beat out Aureola, which is a Light tome. Excalibur will also beat out Forblaze because Excalibur is the best Anima tome in the game. Even though you can use Forblaze to beat the final boss, Excalibur beats Forblaze in just about every way possible, as shown here:

EDIT: Haha, why not send out a Falco Knight or a magic user to take those guys out?

bomb…according to what sales or how good it is???

the reviews have been mixed…there are several reviews that have been very horrible but if you read the reviews they are styupid and you can tell the reviewer is a scrub…

then there have been above average reviews or like 8.something from gamespot and other places and some magazines like Play have given it almost classic rating of 9…when you read the reviews you can tell these guys actually know what they are talking about…

anyway its prolly going to be one of the most controversial games this year period…

im outi
