The "Currently Playing" Game Thread-Discuss Your Games, Vent, Give Props, etc

you’ve GOT to be fucking kidding me here…on Otogi…I can change the control configuration…but apparently the camera/view controls on the right analog stick will ALWAYS be inverted? Who’s the cunt-licking bitch who thought this up? Shit is backwards as hell. Right moves my view left, and Up = down and all taht retarded flight-sim bullshit…I can’t play like this. Seriously…I can adjust to nearly everything BUT inverted retard controls.

naw thats another way to kill him, if you dont play for like a week i think it is, he will die from age…

im outi

Roberth

That’s what I figured. I heart Kojima and his team.

On level 3 on VJ 2, started a new file on Ninja Gaiden, on very hard, and Playing XMEN on my modded xbox for Genesis !! YES THIS GAME FUCKING ROCKS. <33333

where is your god now

okay, this game (Raze’s Hell) is just fucking impossible. I still can’t get past that stage, and I’ve been playing that off and on for the past 2 days now. If you get past something, there’s always something else that WILL gun you down in .002 seconds. This might even be worse than Halo 2 Legendary Cairo Station, and this is just the game’s “normal” difficulty. So I destroyed the cunt-sucking helicopter, but then a Kewtenator popped up right in front of me and the other guy’s face…fortunately I still had the explosive ammo, so I killed him as quickly as possible with that…I needed more health, so I ran over to inhale the bloody chunks before this Kewtenator got back up, since they’re seemingly infuckingvincible unless you completely destroy the body…and of course, I look up to see THREE missiles headed my way. Raze isn’t fast enough to even try dodging this = I’m dead in that instant 3-hit combo of missiles(*from near full health)…I have to start over from where I was about 15 to 20 fucking minutes ago, so I gave up for tonight.(*thus avoiding my growing temptation to throw the game itself out the window out on the street) It wouldn’t be so bad if I could at least start back over at the part where I meet up with the “Ancient Elder” or whatever his name is…but nooooo…there’s a lot of shit to go through before getting to that point, and no checkpoint…so you just have to go thru it all again for the 900th time you died.

this is starting to get to Battletoads-level bullshit…where I’m beginning to get skeptical of anyone who claims to have beaten this game without the cheats…on normal or higher. I’m not totally there yet in Battletoads-Skepticism, but things are headed in that direction.

edit----Otogi—that’s really messed up that they’d let you change the controller configuration…EXCEPT for the orientation of the right analog stick for looking around. This has to be one of the dumbest options-screwups in the entire history of gaming. It’s not even just up and down that’s reversed…“right” apparently makes me look left. If this was an actual decision rather than a case of them forgetting…whoever’s idea it was…they need to be shot in the face. I’ll just try to get thru the game with as little usage of that right stick as possible…and it’s already made things much more difficult than they should be. This is really just unacceptable…and yet again I’m in the mood to repeatedly punch a random Sega employee in the face.

but anyway…perhaps this might be one of the reasons nobody bought this damn game.

Sorry to hear that your game isn’t going well, Million.

Myself, I’m starting to get a bit bored with DMC3. I may just finish Hard and call it quits for a while. Come back and do Dante Must Die after taking a short breather.

Kirby’s Canvas Curse comes out next week, that’s a must-have for me.

Wario Ware: Twisted!-Ugh! I’m still stuck on Wario Man’s last microgame called Turn It Up. I can make it through the whole session of games without losing a life but when Turn It Up comes, I just lose it. This particular games makes you watch movemntes of dancers in the background and then mimic them. I just have problems with the speed and timing when I’m almost done with it. Speaking of Wario Ware anyonewith a Nintendo DS have WW: Touched? How good is it compared to the GBA WWs?

On Racing Gears Advance, the competition beefs up their rides in the same manner I do. Some of the races are getting pretty tough. My 1st engine upgrade may not cut it much longer since I didn’t even make the top 3 in the 2nd Championship race. I like how you can change your tires before races. This keeps me from having to constantly buy new sets of dirt, snow and pavement tires. Although I’m sure I’ll buy superior sets of tires as I go on. The AI plays dirty too. They are ruthless with those oil slicks. Not only that but they know where those short cuts are and they use them all the time. I think I’ll head into practice mode to find out where all the short cuts are.

On Zelda: A Link to the Past, I’ve just gotten the 2nd cystal and I’m now in the 3rd dungeon in the Dark World. I finally found the shop to buy the red shield, which is a good thing too because I was getting lit up like a Christmas tree in the 2nd dungeon by enemies firing projectile weapons. BTW, I gave the mushroom to thw friendly witch in the Light World and she gave me some weird powder to sprinkle on enemies and such. I don’t think I ever found out what that was for. Anyone know?

Haven’t sold DMC3 yet. I’m only at mission5, think I’ll finish this first since I’m still having a little fun with it. I’m gonna rent GoW here in a few just to what the hype is all about(good and bad).

I need to import Z.O.E 2 : 2nd Runner SE and get my PS2 modded.

Raze’s Hell—Well, I didn’t resort to cheating…but I did just turn the difficulty down…and I BARELY made it by that level. Finally I took down the helicopter, blew up the Kewtentator that appears, and took out the missile-launching bitch that was off in the distance…I stunned him with a short burst of Ripper fire, and rolled up on him literally before he could do anything about it. Then, something REALLY cool happens that I won’t spoil here for whoever happens to be interested in this great game.

And now I’m on a level that’s much, much worse…there’s absolutely nowhere to hide, because the enemies come from all directions…

Remember those enemies that look like skulls with red spheres spinning around them that bounce all over the place and steal your magic when they hit you (they are mostly in dungeons)? Sprinkle them with Magic Powder, and they turn into fairies. You can also try to sprinkle the old lady who is sweeping her front door in Kakariko Village for some random fun. :bgrin:

Playing GoW right now. Just reached Athens and am fighting some mofo with a big spiked ball. The game is alright. Nothing great so far, but not bad either.

Just put int the order for 2ndRunner Special Edition Bargain Edition at Yesasia.com.

Now I just need to find someone who can mod my PS2…

You can also kill him with a sniper rifle when a soldier carries him off in a wheel chair but you have to be quick about it or he goes past a door as it closes. And the stage you fight him is replaced with soldiers.

Since I got a ps2 im playing god of war and Star Ocean 3.

Oh thanks. I know just the enemies you’re talking about.

The more I play Zelda: A Link to the Past, the more I like it. I hate to admit it, but I think it really is my fav of the Zelda series. Well maybe I need to go back and play Ocarina of Time before I admit to that. Now that game was a true masterpiece.

I went to Game Crazy for the first time today. Walked out with:

Duck Tales, NES
1942, NES
Streets of Rage 2, Genesis
X-Men: Mutant Apocolypse, SNES
Kickle Cubicle, NES
Batman Returns, SNES

I loved Batman Returns on the SNES. Game was a tight beat 'em up back in the day it had some awesome mode 7 levels. Music was tight too. Konami with the Batman license = PWNAGENESS.

Never played 1942 and I was curious. But seeing as how it was around back in the original Ghosts & Goblins days of the Arcade/NES era, this game is probably seriously tough.

Streets of Rage 2. What more do I need to say. Although I’ve never played the actual Genesis version, only the Sega Smash Pack DC version.

Never played X-Men: MA but I heard it was good. And it was cheap.

I heard Kickle Cubical was the bomb. And it too, was cheap.

Duck Tales. Back in the day Disney games were the bomb and Capcom rocked with it. BTW, anyone ever play the NES or Game Boy versions of Darkwing Duck? I was a HUGE fan of that show and seeing as how Capcom made DWD, I’d love to check that game out. But I’d like to know the thoughts from someone who played it. Sigh. Disney games just aren’t what they used to be.

Well, now that I have both Dracula X Rondo of Blood on my newly acquired PC Engine Duo-R, and Dracula XX for my Super Famicom system, I’ve just been on a Castlevania binge, I own a great number of the games (time for me to give Castlevania it’s own thread). For just the past several days I’ve been going back and forth between the two games.

Because I’ve already beaten Rondo of Blood before, I’m just all about finding the hidden passages that branch off into different stages, doing the same on ADXX. So far got these following stages:
Stage 1
Stage 1b
Stage 2
Stage 2b
Stage 3
Stage 4
Stage 4b
Stage 5
Stage 5b
Stage 6
And I still ain’t found the other 2 Reinard sisters
Otherwise, I’m on stage 6 (medley of bosses from the very first Castlevania). fuckin’ hard I tell ya! First the bat, medusa, mummies, frankenstein, then the one and only…SHAFT!

I’m trying to do it all with Richter.

That game is the fucking truth. It is one of the first puzzle games I have ever played and I love every moment of it. If you want some classic adventure games, go pick up Startropics 1 & 2.

Teh hotness right there.

Finally got stealth camo on MGS3 shit is too good.

Oh yeah that reminds me all those games Reggie picked up are all awesome.

Batman Returns for SNES = best Batman game ever. The music for one of its reasons.

And to think my copy of Duck Tales for NES has watched me grow up. Had it since my elementary school era.

I finally decided to jump in on this discussion. I too like to juggle many games at once, trying to beat the devil within game for Tekken five, but its not really worth the effort and I find my self In practice mode with yoshimitsu all to often. To who ever asked about Wario Ware : Touched! Its a must have for all ds owners, the touch screen is pretty much used to its fullest and there are so many goddamn toys to unlock. I picked up a copy of Final Fantasy Anthologies for PSX and have been playing 3(6). Also bought Fire emblem sacred stones, and Its way more than I expected. Its got the same system and slightly touched up graphics from the last one but with a whole lot more character classes.
