finally managed to finish viewtiful joe 2 on v-rated. thinking that it was the final difficultly, I got burnt out trying to finish it on v-rated, so fuck ultra v-rated…heh but has anyone on here played it on UV-rated???
Make sure you fucking german suplex them.
well the shock normally is the super gun because it is effective at all ranges plus the amount of damage it gives…for example you can use it as sniper like you said, in the computer game it does 45 damage per primary shot…and shots fairly fast, also the primary also pushes opponents back…its good at medium range also with shock ball combo but this can be used at far distances as well for far more damage than the sniper rifle…the shock core itself will kill you outright if you are in its blast radius it does 100+, at close range the primary fire can push opponents back setting them up for another weapon or for you to run away or gain contorl again, also at close range you can spam secondary fire onto the floor ala rockets cause it will do splash damage, another thing that makes the shock hella sick is if the primary hits it will push opponents back and you can see where they will fall or land after they have been pushed so it sets you up for another shot because it becomes easier to predict their movement since you are basically controlling it after they get hit, so getting like 2-3 primary hits in because easier than landing 2 sniper shots in a row…ANYWAY…does UT2 have the shield gun???
im outi
Roberth
I beat both on UV. I know Million and Don Knotts have too. UV is pretty much the same (EDIT: as V) except even longer health bars on bosses/sub-bosses, you take quad damage, and dodge markers (the skulls) aren’t displayed.
G4’s E3 coverage starts live tomorrow at 6pm Central time!
-UC2—I think I have all the bots unlocked now…I saw something from Mike Kapps(I think that’s the name) posted/quoted on Gamefaqs earlier, and he does mention some of the bots becoming playable via download.(*as well as new maps of course) I’m hoping one of the Raptor alternates will be better…because the robots just aren’t that great compared to everyone else. The best thing about Raptor, besides being a heavy character…is probably the Self Destruct, and that is limited to specific situations. Devastation gets killed so fast it’s pitiful. If and when a tier list is finally made, I’d expect both of those characters to be near the bottom, which is unfortunate, since I usually like to pick robot characters.(*a small way of playing out my Terminator/General Greivous fantasies.)
-VJ2–yep, I beat Ultra V. It REALLY bothers me that they couldn’t include the secret characters…the next VJ games better make up for that. I want to play as the Black Emperor! I never beat all the Chambers though. Secret characters would be a better reward than Super mode…if they just had those extra characters…I would probably still be playing VJ2 on a regular basis right now.
edit–haha…got sidetracked by my feelings about the lack of secret characters…I was going to mention that Emperor becomes quite problematic on UVrated, not only because of the increased damage you’re taking, but also because I think he gets 2 of those blade orbs when low on health, as opposed to Vrated where he just gets 1…it’s been so long since I’ve played, this may be wrong, heh. The real bitch is trying to make it past the first part of the fight…since you take so much damage off 1 hit, and it’s tough to pass that 1st part without getting hit at all. On UV, if I got hit there in the beginning, I just let myself die and started over…you lose so much health, it’s pretty much hopeless if you got hit on the first part before you get your powers back.
oh, and Alastor takes FOREVER to beat on UV. I guess it’s probably not as bad if you’re beating him the “correct” way, but of course I didn’t know that at the moment.
yea, the only real reason I had a problem with jet was because of his first form, after you figure out his second form, you just need patenice…that and enough VFX power so you can abuse his zoom-in kick.
The fight I hated the most on v-rated was blizzard hazard frost tiger.
You mean someone actually beat VJ2 and even the first VJ on the Ultra V-Rated difficulties??? :wow: Can I sit at the same table with these Game Masters ™?
Zero 3 is more difficult than I imagined. I guess I’m still reeling from all those deaths since the last time I played it a few days ago. Where are those blasted Sub-Tanks?!! And I don’t know if I’m feeling the whole alternate paths thing. I mean, sure it rocks to have different routs but the whole green background deal just sucks.
You know, my first time through the game I had a terrible time with Frost Tiger. But he was easy for me on my subsequent playthroughs. Same thing with Alastor, as Million mentioned above. First playthrough, he took ages to defeat. But on V, I realized his pattern and made him my bitch.
IMO, hardest boss is Dr. Kranken. When he gets pissed, but before his head falls off, he’s quite the bitch. JB before you get your VFX back is also tricky, but not so bad. Actually one of the few places that Sylvia is useful, since she runs faster than Joe.
You don’t have Captain Blue? Drop whatever you are doing and unlock him ASAP, Reggie. His hover ability is hella fun to play around with.
EDIT: Almost forgot my update. I’ve already beaten Psychonauts. Not because it was particularly easy, but because the story had me hooked. I pretty much spent about 5-6 hours a day on it, so I cleared it in 3 days. Really good game.
Started playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night again. I’m hooked.
Playing OutRun2 again with a little Keith Courage in the Alpha Zones on the side. Ahhh, nostalgia.
Rented DMC3. This game is hard.
Remy, you should know my gripes about Psychonauts… but I actually still want to play it. Does it improve later on? And at the Napoleon guy, how far into the game am I?
Finally get to play Gran Turismo 4. The I-A license’s last guide test is a fucking bitch. Freakin takes 10 min to do and has to be perfect.
playing Shadow Tower. Slim ps2’s fast disc speed and smooth shading options make it a joy.
I just bought Alpha 3 for the GBASP the other day so I am playing that.
Is ZOE2 still for sale? I remember hearing it was gonna be discontinued and all, but just want to make sure. I was gonna trade in DMC3 for it.
Discontinued a long time ago. If you find a new one, mail me it.
About the dumbest thing I have done is sell that game. Beat it and all but told myself to “let go”. Probably the best action game this gen.
 to me
I found a copy when I was raiding Circuit City for those $5 games on sale.
I’m assuming you already did the Theatre level and haven’t done the bullfighting level yet. Technically, those two levels and the Napoleon one can be done in any order, but that is the order that you meet the characters in. Anyway, with that assumption in mind, you have 3 more levels. The bullfighting one, a level in the real world as you climb the deteriorated tower to Dr. Loboto’s lab, and the final level (I don’t wanna spoil it). Anyway, personally I only disliked the Theatre level, though I also wasn’t super enthralled by the Napoleon one either. The final level is wicked, though. Interesting story conclusion, and a very fun-to-play level (though frustratingly hard in the first part).
Anyway, you’re close enough that I’d strongly advise you to finish it. Even if the gameplay hasn’t captivated you like it did me, the story is very good.
I finished Mega Man X8 last night. Yes the game was pretty easy, but I really enjoyed the 10+ hours I spent playing it. Good level designs and diverse characters. I’m sure I’ll go back some day and play it again to fight the true final boss and get 100% in every level. Plus I want to play as the Navigators as well. This game makes me wish for an X9 but that’s like wishing for a MM9.
 The spike area in the final stage was probably one of the most annoying spike areas in any MM game since MM6.
:wow:
