I thought MMX9 had already been thought of as a possibility by Capcom. That’s what I’ve heard.
I’ll check CC tomorrow. The BlockBuster near my house has it, but only one copy and for rent. I asked about purchasing it but the lady said since they only have one copy of the game that it wouldn’t go on sale anytime soon. Man, looking at the screens on the back brought back memories
On another note : found Alpha 3 for $10 on PS. Man, I love this game.
If anyone finds a copy for sale of 2nd Runner somewhere hit me up!
Just bought an SF Anniversary Stick. I’m gonna test it out and see if i can use it for Street Fighter Alpha 3 on Winkawaks. If it works…
fuckin’ hotness! :encore:
Been playing MGS3 and Star Ocean 3 for the first time.
Holy shit is all I can say. MGS3 is pure goodness and SO3 is just crazy. The fighting in that game is just so fast paced. Really keeps you on your toes.
Mega Man X8 is one of the better X’s for quite some time now. I managed to get AAA’s in every stage, but in all honesty, was’nt as hard as I thought it was going to be. Oh man, can’t wait for X collection!!!
Anyways, bought Viewtiful Joe 1 earlier today (yeah, played and beat part 2 before touching part 1) and already finished it on Adults. My only gripes are that it felt kinda short, and I guess that’s because of the fact that they don’t let you save after the first break time for each act. And despite all the gripes I was hearing about Fire Leo being hard, he was a little easy (died only once, and that was because I was lacking life…heh). Had more trouble with the shark and King Blue than I did with Leo.
Also, UV-Rated on Viewtiful Joe 2 is’nt as troublesome as V-Rated, it seems. Bosses feel as if they were slowed down to adults speed. Which completly makes the game a whole lot easier. Oh well, i’m only at Alastor so maybe it’ll get hard later.
So I started in on RV Challenge on the original Joe. I’ve begun as Joe first, since he is the balanced character. Use him to learn the ropes, figure out how much of a balance between time and points I need in each area, etc. If I can manage it, I’ll definitely get Super Al and Super Blue, too. Maybe Sylvia as well, just for completeness.
Anyway, so far it hasn’t been so bad. I only finished the first movie, but it hasn’t been as hard as I’d expected yet.
Million, since you already got Super Blue… You have any advice? Any particularly problematic areas to watch out for? Also wondering what the best way to get the coins out of those crates behind Bruce in Mag. 5 is, since I know you need them for points on that scene.
Mainly playing through The Legend of Dragoon again right now. Not the best localization, but the Additional system used in the battles is entertaining.
My GC hasn’t been getting any love from me lately so i may pick up VJ2 tomorrow. And I feel like playing some racing games so I’m thinking about getting NFS: Underground. I hear the original is actually better then U2. Plus U2 is $50 and the first one is a cool $20. Also, the underappreciated Racing Gears Advance for the GBA is sounding more and more interesting to me.
A few days ago I wiped out a few more Neo Arcadia jerks on Zero 3. And what the heck SPOILER is Copy/Master X doing back? Is he gonna be the new Sigma now? AKA I have to blast him to kingdom come 10909328 times? END SPOILER
One of the most difficult areas I remember was the underwater part…I think that’s Act 3…there’s a room with Bianco Billys, the fish, and those shock wheel objects. It’s really easy to get hit in this area while trying to kick an enemy into the shock things, and Ukemi becomes less of an option, since that part is on an incline, and it’s harder to Ukemi when the ground is not level. I remember this being quite a hassle since there are no regular biankys there…obviously they’re much easier to kick around than a Bianco Billy. The point requirement seems strict there.
Also, the trip back after you beat Joker is rough too, since it’s one long segment, and the time requirement is strict.
Background boxes during Bruce fight—I think you can hit him with Mach speed when he stops and looks like he’s catching his breath.
*I’m as excited for VFX Battle as I was for the original VJ1…
UC2—Brock is now one of my regularly used characters of course. Strategically he’s one of those interesting counter choices to a Juggernaut like Arclite…since “Fear” can shut down “Unstoppable”, I assume. I was playing against some “Adept” bots yesterday…I’m still moving on up the difficulty. It may be time to try “Masterful” today.
Heh, wait until the Miss Bloody Rachel version of Frost Tiger. Has 18 health bars, goes all the way into pink. The most health of any boss in either game, and made even more annoying because it’s harder to stun since skull marks aren’t shown. Also has some new moves, IIRC.
I got Rainbow Vs on Dark Kaiser and Black when playing UV, though. And I wasn’t even trying to get good scores, just survive.
RV on the first Joe is utter horseshit. All Act 2 is doing for me so far is give me a hernia. Some of the scenes have such a small margin for error either direction that it’s just stupid. You have to be incredibly spot-on. And the lack of regular save points just serves to make things worse. One time, I made it all the way to the helicopter scene at the end, and fucked up on Time there. Which means that I would have to do the entire level over again from the start. BULLSHIT, I SAY!
oh, I was on FIRE just now…haha…against BOTS of course in UC2. Adept bots though…I was playing my favorite of course…Brock. It’s been awhile since I played Arclite, but that character did grow on me a bit…that will be my 2nd most used character.
I’ll be glad when they finally make the bots playable…I’m curious as to what adrenaline abilities the other robots have, since the default ones–Raptor and Devastation —aren’t that great. Hopefully Corrosion and Szvgyvgy or whatever its name is has better abilities, cuz I like the Raptor design…and I usually enjoy playing as robot characters in most games. I remember enjoying E102r and Omega’s segments in their respective Sonic games…even moreso than Sonic, actually.
Speaking of which, I hope they keep Omega around for future playable appearances in the Sonic universe…that’s too cool a character to just let fade into obscurity…and if they ever cared to put a deeper storyline to the sonic world in the games, there’s SERIOUS potential with that particular character…at least…if they took him on the same story path I imagined(*but never put to paper, due to laziness)
It’s doubtful that the other robots will be any better than Raptor. Corrosion and Syzygy will still have Upgrade, Radar, and Cannibalize. Those are robot-specific. And those’re the skills that specifically suck (well, Radar and Cannibalize, anyway; Upgrade is meh). Raptor’s unique skill, Self-Destruct, is actually fairly useful in large melees.
ah, dammit…I just checked out a video about the “playable alts”, and yeah, Syzygy still has Cannibalize and Self Destruct
here it is, btw…it was posted at Gfaqs. (12mb warning for 56kers…)

Well, I finally played UC2 online for the first time for about an hour and a half straight, and of course, I got owned, especially in the first 2 games. I did notice that I improved after a few more games, but I still need LOTS of practice before I’m even decent at the game.
For the time being, it seems Szalor is my character of choice until I unlock characters. I’m liking his “Predator” ability, as it seems to be the only way I can win a melee fight against Arclite, and pretty much pummels everyone else. His “Regeneration” ability last a long time, but you have to have your adrenaline at the absolute max in order to activate it.
My highlight of the night: I caught someone trying to snipe me from halfway across the map, and I deflected his shot back at him and got a head shot. The best part of it is, I actually intended to do it. It nearly brought a tear to my eye, simply beautiful.
IMHO, UC2 is the best FPS/Shooting game on Live. It’s not perfect (nothing is though), but it’s amazing fun. I’m only bummed that there’s no clan support. I was looking forward to that, especially if an SRK clan was to be formed, but oh well.
Millon and Remy, if you guys are ever online, I’d love to get a game going…
Right now I’m 3 hours away from home at a all gaming convention. Posting from the LAN room.

I am tired as hell and am about to go get some sleep, but here’s a small log of what I played during the con.
>Taught #R to somebody
>Everybody was diggin’ everything I brought. Sometimes to the point they were asking me if they were for sale or not.
>The biggest highlight so far: A guy let me use his Turbo Duo system, and I finally beat Dracula X Rondo of Blood from beginning to end, my copy that was dying to get played for months. I got 60%. I don’t care as long as I beat it, and it was on an actual Turbo Duo hardware, no emulators. That’s my favorite CV game ever now. When I beat Dracula, I had that old schoolish “Take that bitch! I’m king of the world!” ego boost, he was pretty frustrating compared to the SOTN intro version.
I’ve stopped playing until the game gets patched. IMO, there are too many imbalance issues at the moment. Melee is way too dominant (my biggest gripe), Stinger and Ripjack suck balls, and the robot class is underpowered all to hell just to name a few.
Once a patch is available that addresses those issues, I’m totally in. Live tag is WawfulStompr, I usually play Gorge, Malcolm, or Lauren.
eh, I don’t mind the balance issues, but perhaps that’s because I was only online for 1 night(*I didn’t see everyone playing as 1 or 2 characters. There was only 1 other Arclite besides myself that I saw.)…my main concern was the intolerable lag. I won matches because of the lag…and I lost matches because of the lag. One match in particular, my Arclite was just frozen in midair for a long time until I just quit and had to rejoin the game. I could still see other people running around the map, but I was stuck. I WAS going to get a Live headset that comes with a 3 month subscription, but not after that experience…take care of the lag, and I’ll get on with the quickness.
-Heh, yeah…I haven’t used the Ripjack since way back when I first got the game…or the demo if it was in that. Speaking of which, I’ll be recording some things off the demo into mp3 format later today. I like those character intros they did for Selket, Anubis, Lauren and Szalor. I’m surprised they weren’t in the final game…(*there’s a cool reverb sound or something after they announce the name, with the background music of one of the maps, and some “english”-sounding, kinda robotic woman voice over describes the character.)
I just remembered…I need Mechassault 2 as well. That game is incredible. The explosions are some of the best I’ve ever seen in a game’s real-time graphics, and I like how you can steal other mechs. Hopefully the price has dropped on this, but I doubt it. I also need to get Otogi 1 and 2. How in the world were the Otogi games NOT popular?! Those games were TIGHT…it’s undeniable fact.
G4 currently repeating the E3 coverage…haha DOA4 looks EXACTLY like the previous versions on the original Xbox.
I was highly dissapointed in Mechassault 2 as far as online play is concerned. There is a HUGE gameplay flaw that completely destroys the playability of the team-destruction game. Here’s how it goes:
When you (re)spawn, you spawn as a human, not as a mech, and you have to run to a mech, tank, v-tol, whatever and manually get in it. All the tanks, mechs, etc, in a spawn point are usually lined up side-by-side (in team games). What happens is everyone who plays a team game goes straight for the other team’s spawn point and destroys one of the mechs, which causes a chain reaction of all the mechs blowing up since they’re lined up side-by-side. In the meantime, you respawn as a human, and get killed by your own mechs blowing up in a chain reaction, or from the other team’s mechs stepping on you. GGPO, game has zero-playability because everyone is a fucking cunt and has to go kill you before you can even get in a mech.
Words cannot describe how dissapointed I was. Stick with the original if you intend to play online.
Latest purchases:
-The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (GBA)$20 new
-Racing Gears Advance (GBA)$30 new
-Ace Combat 2 (PS1) Got this baby “used” for $10 at GameStop but get this, it was still sealed and had the sticker label at the top on it. So while it was new it was sold to me as “used”. Hey, I’m nor complainin’.
Got back into Virtua Fighter 4: Evo. I just won another tourney and got $6000. That seems like a lot of green but my current total is still only a mere $17900. And some things (like the original VF1 stage) cost $10000. Need more money NOW!! The AI players in this game are getting pretty tough. Even the 10th Daners are whupping out some serious pwnage. I’d love to see the Evo matches on this game. They are probably so frickin’ raw.
