The "Currently Playing" Game Thread-Discuss Your Games, Vent, Give Props, etc

I just learned my newly flip top modded PS2 won’t play my US GGX2!! I saw the laser go all the way to the edge of the disc and the CD made this thumping sound, and it stayed at the BIOS.

Oh yeah, I’m having lots of fun. My hit ratio is like 10% now, lol.

Hooked on the punisher. There’s something about firing dual shotguns point blank that’s really satisfying.

I’ve only played it for about 2 hours, GIMME A BREAK. I’ll have it beaten between MvC2 and Maple Story breaks… eventually. It might take several months, but it’ll get done.

Definitely top 5 for N64 easily. Multiplayer was equal, if not better than Goldeneye. I’ll definitely rent this when it gets out.

Does MvC2 have an adaptive type of difficulty? I notice this game seems to be getting hard even though I’ve kept the difficulty at it’s default setting. I’m at level 62 right now but even before that, the AI was getting cheap on me and pulling off stuff I’ve never seen it do before. Anyone got any tips for dealing with nuances like Rogue and Captain America? Those two really get me angery.

More on the trials of RE4:
Just got Ashley back and am now stuck at a part where I have to get past some gigantic flame spitting dragon statues. I can get past the first two, where you have to jump between the openings on a rotating fence, but the third completely blocks off the catwalk. I don’t know what to do.

I did this one part where you had to fight one of those blind, Wolverine-clawed guys inside a tiny cage while monks with crossbows shoot you from outside. At first, I thought that this was bullshit, as the blind guy has to be shot in the back and the crossbow guys are so close that they don’t miss. But once I figured out that a shot from the Broken Butterfly sends the blind guy reeling and gives you a clear shot at his weak spot, it was GGPO for him and his friends.

Playing NBA Live 2005 and Immortal Cities: Children of the Niles right now.

Manage to sign Mourning and trade Marshall for Billup, so I got a pretty decent starting lineup for Raptors (PG: Billup SG: J. Rose SF: Carter PF: Bosh C: Mourning) and owning. Funniest moment came when Billup, at 6-2 manage to do a block on Shaq.

come on, man…MvC2 isn’t that hard…but yeah, Rogue and Storm, and sometimes Psylocke can go a little crazy sometimes. The interesting thing is…yes, this usually happens after you’ve put quite a few hours in. The difficulty actually does increase over time…at least it did in the DC version. Anyway, those 3 broads particularly…they get all PMSy sometimes, and go crazy with rushdown all over you like flies on shit. I can’t really remember how I dealt with it other than keeping them locked down with…something like Cable + Sentinel drones assist, or Megaman’s constant buster shots/rockball + Doom’s “pink shit”(or rocks), or Strider Ororboros+Doom assist, something from Iceman(beams and ice boulders). Usually they’ll try to block 99% of it, and get chipped to death…especially from characters like Iceman and Doom(rocks).

Thanos can get like that too, actually…and that bastard blocks like 100% of the time…so it seems like he can ONLY be chipped to death.

free commercialremember, people…DESTROY ALL HUMANS. 1st Quarter '05***free commercial*** Get Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 also.**

To get around that bastard right in front of the catwalk, sucker him into using his flame right in front of you, then run to the left side and cap his ass with the rifle. You’ve gotta be quick, though.

Going through Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack…again. I’m so fucking hardcore.

STORM!! That’s the other broad that was giving me trouble last night. She kept on hitting me with Typoon and other crap. And Rogue likes to dash while I’m in a corner, 5-6 hit combo, repeat but without the dash. Utter cheap horse crap!!

As for Destroy All Humans that game sounds fun. GI did a preview on it that said “Destroy All Humans But Preserve Their Bodies For Science.” The name along makes the game intriguing to me.

I can’t believe it. THEY RUINED MY GIRL, CHUN-LI IN MVC2!!! She’s freaking worthless. I weep. Rogue is by far my fav character that doesn’t use projectiles. Now I just need to find a good team for her. Which is better Hyper Delayed Combo or Hyper Combo where all three members of the team come out at once? The problem with the later is that many foes can see it coming and Hyper Delayed Combos usually take fools by surprise. And Jin= What Capcom game did he come from?

Once again another delay has irked me. The Sega Classics Collection has been pushed back from Feb 15 to March 22. I so wanted to play Outrun NOW!! I’ve never played it and the remake looks tight.

reggie… um where have you been dude? I mean we’ve known about the rape of chun-li in MVC2 for quite some time now LOL.

anyway, Im playing Beyond Good And Evil. Much fun so far. Nicely done. I am currently in Nutripils factory. although in light of the recent EA ubisoft buyout, I dont expect to see another game like it again from ubisoft. ever.

Next up:
Xenosaga v.2
KOTOR 1

Shadow of Rome
Street v3
Kotor2 & Nanobreaker

v3 is getting boring fast, SoR is still too good for the colosseum battles and Nanobreaker is NICE!

Gave Punisher a break, got a headache from the fucken game. Stupid ship stage

Phantasy Star Online---------

The DOOKIEMAN has reached level 109. It is only a matter of time before he can don the legendary Smoking Plate Armour, thus amplifying his raw funk power even further. With Club of Laconium, he was now doing well over 600 points of damage to some monsters in the Ultimate Forest. The residents of Pioneer 2 could smell his rancid aroma, as it had grown even more pungent as his powers grew. DOOKIEMAN never lost his jovial, often boastful demeanor though…

elsewhere on the ship, the ranger OrkinMan gathers his deadly array of tools for another trip down to Ragol…Orkin took great pride in his ancestors’ legacy of pest control…

More RE4 madness. I finally made it to Disc 2. The mine cart sequence and the run from the giant Salazar statue were both quite memorable. Salazar’s Right Hand Man was also a pretty cool boss. Fun to fight, once I figured it out, and he looked sorta like a Predalien. Salazar himself turned out to be quite a pussy, though.

Well I just started playing MvC2 like a mad-man a few weeksa go so I’m a bit late on finding out about the abomination that is Chun-Li. Ugh. She was my baby in fighting games. I respected Chun long before I did Samus Aran. Oh well. She’ll always rule in Classic SF and the 3rd Strike and the Alpha games.

I think I’ll get back into playing Katarami Damacy. Its been a while since I’ve played it. And the Atari Anthology rocks. Tempest, Warlords, Astroids, Adventure and lot of other games on that disc are totally pwnage. A good $20 for anyone to spend.

Counter Strike: Source.

KOF 2002/2003.

Trying to ace hard mode on Einhander to unlock the Selene.

That’s 9999 ammo per gunpod =D
