The Current State of the World thread

explain that to the saturated minds of the American people.

I don’t think money is the root of all evil. The root of all evil stems from within. Money is nothing, yet we assign a value to it, in fact money is an abstract. We consciously enslave ourselves to our own creation.

The Bible can never have anything to do with real life if you don’t believe it in a religious sense, no matter how obvious and universally accepted a statement may be that’s contained within. Let’s go with the non-sense statement that “money is the root of all evil” since money is a moral agent (even though it has no intrinsic value and isn’t sentient in any way) and not the human persons who give it value and actually use it.

EDIT: I just want to confirm that this post is sarcastic. This might or might not have been noticed.

Some enslave themselves, and others get enslaved in the process.

I looked at some of the demands they made. What the hell were they thinking…

Yeah, all I was getting at was the less nonsensical nature of the original statement. It’s my bad, as I forgot that saying “Bible” in an SRK thread with limited context sets off people’s religion alarms.

pedovejo:

I see what you’re saying. If it weren’t money, it would be the love of storehouses of grain/livestock/etc. It’s worth noting that studies have been done suggesting that having security in being able to meet basic needs is all one requires to be happy, and that anything above it merely gives us pleasure based on the idea that we have more stuff than other people. All that the pursuit of stuff can do is give us something to obsess over so that maybe we forget about the void that it isn’t filling. And that comes crashing down hard on people when their stuff-driven lives become unsustainable.

everyone wants money, you can’t live without money. If I was in charge of the u.s. It would be a lot different. People would live off the land like the wild west days. And there wouldn’t be any money. You would have to trade something of value to get what you want. If you don’t think money causes problems then ask your self about health care, taxes, bills, food, even trying to get women you need money. I really don’t think you can get a women to live with you in a cardboard box with no car. Unless you want to be homeless

Money causes no more problems than what prehistoric man used as a tool of bartering before ideas of “currency” came about. Whether that’s dollars, sea shells, etc. “Evil” comes from within, and unchecked greed+ambition > money or anything else one wishes to pawn off as the source of evil

small anecdote, I can’t tell you the amount of women I’ve seen with a useless bum who treats her like shit, yet has nothing of import to his name, I also can’t even tell you how many SUCKERS I’ve seen who’ve had money and all that stuff you talk about get played by a chick while she continues to fuck bum. Because Bum gets her panties wet, and there’s more going on there than money.

Interesting preliminary list of demands. Let’s see where it goes and if they refine it a little.

Yeah, I’m lookin’ at the list with an open mind considering the thing is an open forum, more than anything. Ideas contributed, maybe conversed upon, but nothing removed. Yet. There ARE some good things in there, but as with anything else, it’s a lot of crap you have to sift through, and I have little doubt that won’t.

I just read through the list of “demands”.

Most of it is just young 20 somethings and nature extremists subsidizing points from their own soapbox platforms and trying to push them on a new venue.

Several demands seem to be nothing but anarchists and blatant isolationists posting ideas that would actually be harmful in the long run to US interests. (I’m freaking LMAO at the no taxes and livable wage even if unemployed demands. How the fuck to you expect the government to function with out money and then turn around and demand that everyone be paid by the government?)

They vast majority of the list is outright shit. I only counted a handful of potentially good ideas. Most of which have already been suggested before, and a good percent already being employed in some way in different parts of the country.

I sympathize with the issues that caused this protest in the first place, but this is basically the equivalent of what happened with the London protests earlier in the year. Unorganized, leaderless and generally protesting just for the sake of protesting.

yet these losers still had money. You can’t get anything with out money, even if your the biggest asshole in the world and you have a million dollars, people don’t care if your a asshole, as long as they get money from you. Yet if your a asshole and are very low class, people won’t hang out with you cause there is no reason to since they get nothing out of it

^Actually, quite a few of them didn’t, the chick was completely supporting them.

I learned so much from watching this movie. I knew there was corruption, but after watching it I understand it way better. I know the real problem.

This is a very good review of the movie.

He sums it up in simple terms. I wish every American could watch this. It would really help people know what is going on around them.

It’s not liberal, not conservative, just straight facts and explanations.

What’s wrong with one world government again? I imagine it would just be a juiced up UN and there would still leave each nations own government/s in tact.

If it’s like the Futurama “United Earth”, that would be cool >_> Fellow Earthicans!

UE would never work. To many countries hate each other

the fact that having a United Earth would interfere with the sovereignty of nations.

"Land…cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice; if unchecked, it may become a major obstacle in the planning and implementation of development schemes. The provision of decent dwellings and healthy conditions for the people can only be achieved if land is used in the interests of society as a whole. Public control of land use is therefore indispensable…

right there is infringement in the sovereignty of this nation. Not to mention other facets of American rights could be under fire, like the right to bear arms etc. I don’t mind a globalized economy, and a more interconnected world. But not one world government.

not to mention the middle east hates almost everyone. And China would never agree to this since they hate the U.S. And north and south korea hate each other. And everyone in Africa wants to kill everyone

I find it really amusing that a country like America who hates everything China stands for does business with them.

well the same thing can be said about China. They wouldnt agree to a one nation, they really only want communism
