I think it’s safe to say that it’s been this way since the beginning of the United States. The American holocaust a.k.a. “manifest destiny”, and later the Mexican-American War and the Spanish-American War which led to American imperialism (at least outside of US territory which had already been conquered).

For anyone who is skeptic on climate change, we can have a discussion here. Because climate change has been subject to much debate, and the people who stand to profit from “dirty” energy have put much effort into making it seem like a debate when scientific data says otherwise. And 78 out of 80 scientists who specialize in studying climate change, agree that man-made climate change is real and it is a problem. The other 2 are lobbied by the oil industry and others.
I have a few theories on the whole global climate change and how it could go/is going:
Global Warming: Not only does the depletion of the ozone allowing more of the sun’s rays to reach us in the summer and not reflect away therefore making it hotter, but it also it acted as somewhat of an insulator in the winter. And since it was keeping us from totally freezing during that time, and now that it’s getting thinner, winters are going to get colder.
Atmospheric pollution: If more and more smog and greenhouse emissions keep forming and if it eventually covers the world thick enough, it could, theoretically, block out the sun’s rays and start the world freezing over.
My Observations (Season date shift): Over the past few years I’ve noticed that seasons (especially winter) start later and later, by which I mean the first snow fall of the season, and they end later and later as each year passes by. I believe that the seasons are shifting to later dates as time goes on before they are marked off on the calenders, aka the winter and summer solstices. The seasons all keep their same lengths in time, but they just start later and later as the years pass by. I, unfortunately can’t make any sort of prediction on when the shift will stop or slow to a relative stop is beyond me, and I can’t tell if we are responsible or if this is something the planet does every few thousand years or so.

There are also wind patterns. It’s not that simple because of the rotational energy of the earth and gravitational effects due to other entities such as the Moon, Sun, etc. Speaking of the Sun, it does release a massive amount of energy, but it doesn’t change the fact that humans also play a part so there are many variables involved. Simply put, humans destroying the forests, all the additional chemical releases, heat energy, etc, all play a part.
There are still things beyond the level of comprehension of humans such as the effects of all the additional crap we send through the air since we’re too busy worrying about how fast our wireless is because clearing dungeons in a video game several seconds faster is what’s important in life. We have some tools to measure some of the things our black boxes produce beyond the box, such as an inductive amplifier to measure AC wire under voltage, but we don’t have tools for everything. Even when we do have tools to measure the exact output, we don’t know the full consequences of what impact may exist on humans, other living things, the planet, etc.
Then again, a gamma ray burst may take us out at any point.
Whenever there’s a particularly cold stretch, pundits like to stand up and crow, “See, libtards? Global warming isn’t real!”
As average temperatures rise, the ice caps melt. They don’t do it steadily. First, the ice weakens. It loses its integrity. Eventually, it can’t bear its own weight, so fissures open. Out of those fissures, bursts of intensely cold air are released into atmosphere, where they are carried around the world by the wind.
This is very often the reason why global warming doesn’t automatically translate to days that are consistently warmer than average. Rather than a sign of relief, the cold days are all the more troubling. To put it lightly, melting ice caps are not good.

Actually this is negligible. It’s only a single release while the sun pours continuous heat energy onto the Earth and the alteration of chemical composition by releasing pure water into salt water will deteriorate our natural thermostat. Humans won’t be able to balance temperature on a global scale, Con Ed already greatly reduces output during peak temperatures, but if they rise any further then they will have to shut off to prevent damage and another black out. No electricity means goodbye to your AC and fridge for example. The energy per area of a solar panel isn’t too great either and depends on the sun and no obstruction.
I went to the police station high as a kite yesterday to pick up my police background check for work. Long wait in line, so it was good I was baked and brought Sandman comics. While there, my buddy and I actually had a good discussion on how many cops we know that either grow, or smoke pot. My friend Jenny growing up had a cop dad that grew pot in his house. LOL you think cops are good people and not hypocrites? You silly silly kid.
And you must really not comprehend how awesome it is in Canada. Pot is almost as common as cigarettes. I know fuckloads of people that spaz out cuz I smoke cigarettes, but are thrilled I smoke bud.
