The Current State of the World thread

As much of a non-Republican as I am, and as much as I dislike firearms, I can’t condone the lack of the 2nd Amendment. It was made, plain and simple, not to have just the ability for the citizens to mobilize their own militia in the instance of an outside invasion, but for those in power of the current government of these lands to realize this same situation before the decision to bring down an iron fist is considered. Losing that right is a guarantee to the future of a police state, as if it’s even attempted, the resistance is non-existent. May sound like crazy talk, but if you’ve seen the way the country is today, it’s hardly a far cry from possibility. If anything, it’s probably one of the few things holding it back.

No, none of the bill of rights should be touched. It is good as is. And the ones after, for the most part, are more clarifications of these in the first place. Really, the only one that should be looked at at all is the 16th. I still say that shit should be repealed (as it’s debateably constitutional anyway) and it’d be a lot easier for everyone in this country to work with a federal sales tax instead. 30-ish% federal sales tax vs. 30-ish% federal income tax comes out to about the same, with the only exception being evasion is pretty damn difficult for anyone, regardless of social status. Everyone’s gotta buy shit to survive.

90% tax on the top 1% bracket would fix the economy within 5 years.

Hey guys, are you excited as I am about the recent oil findings in Uganda? Shame they got that Kony badguy there, he’s really bad, the US has the moral obligation to intervene.

Peace

Ok so Kony hasn’t been in Uganda since '06. They find out there’s oil in Uganda within the last 3 years. He show’s up again in Uganda to take control of it. KONY 2012 is started (obviously by the U.S. Oil companies) calling for his arrest. The U.S. responds.

That’s a lie from conspiracy theorists!

Kony is a bad guy and all the 20 million hipsters that saw the youtube video agree that something should be done, so they’re making their voice heard and are ready to go to war!

They’re teaming up with these guys:

Sounds like a winning team against a highly violent, african para-military unit.

I’m not saying something shouldn’t be done about Kony, it’s just that this is all a little to convenient.

we already have had specops looking for him

Dude I don’t know what your smoking but I don’t want any of it. The 2nd amendment is more important than ever, and will always be relevant. For an individual to have to ability to defend himself against any threat, domestic (government), assailiant (thug/thieve), or foreign is a right that should never ever be taken away. For an individual to have the liberty and freedom to protect himself and not rely on a third party is a pretty big deal. Stop smoking that leftist anti-firearm bullshit. that freedom wasn’t written soley with King George in mind or so a man could defend himself from the indian.

I don’t much like guns myself, but I think it’s insane to complain about how ineffective and overbearing the government is, then turn around and say that the government should be in charge of who gets to have weapons and when and how they get to use them. The government already has enough of a monopoly on the use of violence.

[You mean…

Intellectual property… bad?

Centralized currency… bad?](‘http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/08/opinion/rushkoff-one-percent/index.html’)

Looks like Greece has defaulted, bout time.

Now the fun begins, CDS madness.

Here’s a good article to find out what’s up with Uganda

All hipster jokes and bashing aside, I’m actually kind of glad people have seemingly began to care (in large numbers) and have been moved to take action regarding Joseph Kony. Hopefully this will lead to greater public awareness to issues both global and local, and hopefully it will lead to an increase in the number of people who participate in organizing for causes (anti-war, anti-violence, anti-oppression, environmental issues, etc.)

I’m trying to be optimistic here, because we’re pretty much fucked. So we really need this kind of global nut slap to wake everybody up, and realize maybe we can work together and accomplish things. And make the world a better place. Yaaaay~~

I don’t even…

For every homeless person, there are 24 empty houses.

Or rather, 12.9 homeless people per vacant house, if you don’t include vacant vacation homes:

very interesting read. Have you ever read up on any of the Central Banks? All evil mother fuckers.

He’s just trying to sell his “9-9-9” bullshit.

Taking all the money and barely putting any back is the problem the rich are causing. The solution?

It’s called taking all our monies back and putting them in jail. Not that hard.

Seeing Mitt Romney pander to the south the way he did reminded me of this little ditty.

or if you watched this week’s Real Time with Bill Maher, you’d see Alexander Pelosi’s interviews of the citizens of Mississippi and how they are both the poorest, yet most conservative state ever.

what killed me is the toothless dude saying his voting conservative “Hasn’t worked yet, but it could.”

Just a microcosm of the larger situation, in which people who don’t buy the candidate they’re voting for don’t get the candidate they’re voting for.
