Actually, it’s more the fact that it clearly wasn’t as Jago played like he did throughout the entirety of the group stages, the same as Mike, and there were solid arguments presented in that interview. I’m not sucking up to Ross, he’s a fraud at Marvel and the few times he’s been too stubborn to admit it the community has been right to take the mickey out of him. Love him or hate him though, he is much better than Jago at Street Fighter and played much better throughout the day, he also practiced like mad. Nothing about their actual match was suspicious and if you actually watch them, their reactions were not faked either. The entirety of the fighting game community, even Arturo, have been saying that the matches were not faked. It’s just idiots on forums who think they know better than everyone else that know the people and witnessed it first hand making it out to be some giant conspiracy. No one would have said anything if it wasn’t for Arturo capturing Jago talking about hyping themselves up, so stop embarrassing yourself.

Jago hasn’t got the final build of the game. He’s got a pre-build with quite a few changes, as Max was saying on the stream. Juri had been changed a bit
-
Mike was considerably better than Jago in other matches too. Mike beat loads of people in casuals. Even though Jago has a few flashy combos, he’s really bad at implementing them and hasn’t got any decent tag combos yet. Mike on the other hand has a decent solo combo for both characters and a 45% health tag combo. Anyone who thinks Jago had a chance in this fight is a moron

Yes, the hype is mostly fake. Blame that on Jago and his overacting, because he likes coming across like a big man during his shitty stage persona. Mike is pretty much always little awkward Mike.
If you want to believe the matches are legitimate then ok, both our opinions don’t matter since it’s happened and done and they both have $500 in their pocket. The damage control from mike ross and art is simply because this expose on them could hurt their business.
Preface: not played the game. I think part of the issue is that Rip and others were doing lots of interesting things earlier, so I think there was a precedent set for the kind of skill people expected see. So when Jago came on and didn’t display that skill, it looked weird. I’d already figured out the animosity was faked, but I didn’t expect the match to be that lopsided and that made me suspicious.
Still not buying it. It looks like a ton of fun, but the fundamental problems with the game still remain, plus I don’t want to support new-age Capcom anymore
I was under the impression he had a press build, but in any case, juri being a changed a bit is besides the point, you don’t became worse than random online scrub because of a few changes to your character. People wouldn’t be so bothered if these two made the match at least interesting for the viewer, cus otherwise they just wasted everyone’s time.
I kind of feel like Aris’ “creepiness”/drama is an attempt to keep us interested in Miranda. If we focused on skill/performance alone she might be in a far worse position (completely ignored except for the usual, relatively few, perpetually horny stream monsters). But meh.
I’m far more interested in why Valle decided to pick Hornett vs Bronson. Hornett’s no slouch in AE (whatever you think of his skills) but it seems like NerdJosh and Renic are stronger. I can understand not wanting to take the risk of Josh and Renic losing to Bronson but it seems like Hornett was thrown to the wolves (maybe to gauge Bronson’s level) lol. Maybe he knew Hornett had Bronson’s number  .
If this isn’t staged (I may be drinking the proverbial Kool-Aid ) then Valle’s a tactical boss but I can’t help wondering what the fallout would have been had Hornett lost…
What fundamental problems? Just curious.
YOOO I JUS WATCHED BRONSON’S ELIMINATION SPEECH OMG
BRONSON JUS SAID FCK U TO NAMCO YOOOOOOOOOOO THIS IS CRAYY
“My greatest regret is giving the “other company” 12 years of my life, I’ve much rather have given it to Capcom” - Bronson
There is no damage control, just Mike Ross laughing at people like you blowing it up because Jago hyped it up and Arturo caught him admitting it. You’re right that our opinions don’t matter, but you’re wrong, Mike Ross did not stage the match, but please, continue believing that we didn’t land on the Moon, you’re just making yourself look like an idiot and there is no point trying to convince you otherwise as you’re deluded.
I heard that Mike Ross gave Jago 500$ after the match?
If it is true, then I have to ask all of you… why?
honest reviews? come on man, how are ppl spose to get paid that way?
fighting game community needs more fake fueds. it needs to be more like pro wrestling. they need ridiculous but believeable storylines, they need more people that the crowd can boo or cheer for. masks. And title belts to hold to make it clear who the champ is. they need gimmicks. Marn is the fat guy, viscant is the weirdo, kayopolice is a Diva. floe is another fat guy
they need crazy managers (triforce is one) so they need someone to rival triforce.
how do i train for a street fighter 4 match? do i lay on the ground while im being trampled by wild rampaging elephants? gootecks coming up at cross assault you better be prepared for im going to hijack the rocketship, break into the cockpit, take command over the controls. the pilots have already made the ultimate sacrifice. grab that stick, put it into a nose dive, gootecks and then you’ll know the power of the warriors flow through the vein of the warrior
They split the pot
Why? they decide before the match, so this way both make money regardless
Jago had been having problems tagging out the whole day, and Mike was punishing tags really well with his Geif. In fact, Combofiend and Ryan Hart were much better than Jago, and I saw Mike beat them both on stream during casuals.
I do think Mike was salty after Jago humiliated him on CCL, and I do think he wanted a rematch. But the drama associated with it was made up by the fans, and then Jago hammed it up. After than CC GAVE THE FANS WHAT THEY WANTED by arranging the rematch for bar fights.
And that fight was not staged, Mike is free when it comes to Marvel. If they were going to stage it they’d make the fights way closer and make Mike lose 4:5
Ok but I thought they hate each other? I wouldn’t want to split the pot with somebody I don’t like.
I’d hardly bother about who I’m splitting money with if I’m going to get $500.
If they did split the pot it’s because of this, they’d just rather a guaranteed pay out instead of gambling 500 bucks, that’s a big bet, even if it is sponsors money. Still doesn’t mean he threw the match, he was having issues tagging all day, if you actually play the game you can’t tag by mashing tag, you can only tag if you haven’t been hit for at least a second, you can’t do it on the wakeup. He had issues tagging all day, not just against Mike.
The guy is an idiot, there’s no proof the two guys split the pot, Mike has been good at SxT since the first build and has been bodying people at it for ages. Jago never stood a chance.
And no Mike and Jago don’t hate each other, apart from a few jokes about how much of a fraud Jago is, Mike hasn’t really done anything to indicate as such (apart from giving the people what they wanted by having a match during bar fights). Jago on the other hand ran his mouth and spoke shit about Mike for months, acting like he’s a big hard man. But if you think that is anything more than a fake persona then you are an idiot. He acts like that on his shitty show too, and it’s obviously not real.
The whole rivalry thing would’ve been cooler if Jago didn’t ham it up. Frankly, he comes off as an obnoxious idiot when he’s trying to be the villain.
To sum it up “Mike tolerates Jago. The rivalry is something the fans made up, and Jago went along with it”
You’re being fed a lot of misinformation. Basically Mike and Jago don’t really hate each other and just hyped up their feud to get their matches hype. On Cross Assault Mike 5-0’d Jago and they were playing for $1000.
Then Art streamed this on phone:

And now people are saying the match was staged and they split the money even though Mike has said he just bodied him and the only thing Jago got out of his 1000 dollars was dinner.
In the end we don’t who is lying or telling the truth, it’s up for you to decide, but don’t listen to random people on the forum not telling the whole story.
The usual. Slow walk speeds, huge stages, links, throws sucking ass, some truly horrid aesthetic choices (all that color, shaking health bars). Gems seem like they won’t impact the system as much as it was implied when they were revealed, but I’m still leery to them.
I mean I’m not going to go on the warpath against the game, because I’m sure it’s still a big, dumb fun game, and I’m okay with people enjoying it. But it’s not the direction I wanted fighting games to go.
EDIT: Thanks for kicking me 3 times while I posted this SRK. Great forum great experience
That explains why I saw people dying on stream when they had been knocked down with a pixel of health.
