About the issue, this thread is about the reality show. If people want to talk about drama - which is a part of reality shows - then so be it. There are plenty of other threads you can discuss gameplay at without having to derail this particular one complaining about it. Anyways, I thought that the Hornet vs Bronson match up was pretty awesome, you could tell Bronson was PISSSSED after but his infamous “choke” habit showed up (plus his vega was having a really hard time against Hornets simple shoto tricks. I don’t think Bronson would have had a chance without power gems on Hugo.)
You want people to talk about the drama on cross assault, when some of it involves perception of sexism and misogyny and that reality tv shows bring up said discussions being that they are reality shows, but people can’t discuss that part of the drama however because it’s not about street fighter or mike ross. Gotcha, bang up job you’re doing.
By the way, FGD wouldn’t be the place to do that either, just wanted to point that out.

Like it or not, the style of horsing around that people take exception to with Aris is just Aris being Aris and it’s far from uncommon. It’s also the reason people dig him so much. If you don’t like it, don’t watch, if Miranda doesn’t like it, the onus is on her to send out the message and be forward and in his face and ask him to stop. If he continues to keep going, then he’s crossed the line. He hasn’t crossed it beforehand if it’s all in good fun, and people are loving it, it’s just at the worst in bad taste until someone says something. You can make enemies of potential friends with that kind of behaviour, but as Aris has shown, you can also be adored for it.
With the whole Ross/Jago thing, watch the interview Spooky had with him at the start of the Team Spooky stream from yesterday. The whole rivalry is blown up, it wasn’t scripted and planned out, it just happened and they played along for entertainments sake. They’ve never staged matches.
It doesn’t matter what the truth is really, people are just going to yell about this stuff for weeks and weeks to come… regardless
I think I worded that poorly. I didn’t mean not to discuss the sexism issues on the show, but people were taking it waaaay too generally.
That’s why I pointed out FGD, people should keep the discussion to the show, if we’re going to start talking about the sexism issue on the FGC as a whole then people should start a new thread about it.
No the first to 5 on cross assault was clearly staged unless Jago’s hand suddenly stopped working for that brief period. They split the pot and let mike get his revenge so jago can mount a comeback some other time, or gootecks bar fights bullshit. It’s plain as day to everyone.
As far as Aris goes, idk why people seemingly care so much. If its what Aris said on the stream to Jared, well you can label him sexist if you want but Aris treats everyone just the same, female or not. Why should he have to treat Miranda any different than males simply because she’s a female? Unless Aris doesn’t something legitimately harassing(no his jokes are not) then she just needs to get over it.
In any case, that discussion doesn’t need a thread because it’s had ones for years. There’s been a front page post about it. Only reason it is here and should be here is because Aris says what everyone else doesn’t have the balls to say. He likes the freedom to express himself to anyone regardless of gender/race/etc. That’s his right, do people have to like it? Of course not, but don’t label Aris as a sexist misogynist just because his jokes towards the one female on team tekken piss off the white knights behind the computer screens who ignore the fact that Aris does the same shit to all the males, maybe even worse. That’s his personality and his sense of humor. He doesn’t actually mean ill towards anyone and has been on record saying as much many times in the past. Aris represents your majority of males, or in this case males in the fgc who enjoy shooting the shit with their friends at tournaments.

I know me personally, when I saw the “pros” gameplay and the 2v2 matches last night, I was sold.
I’m sorry to tell you this, but I’ve already seen that and of fucking course he’s not going to admit to staging shit. That wouldn’t make sense for him to do that, you want to take Mike Ross’ word for it be my guest but facts remain, Jago whose been playing the final build of the game for weeks, a proven legitimate sf4/marvel 3 player, plays worse than TFA Hornet vs Mike Ross and we’re suppose to believe that shit was real. Jago not tagging in Juri for what 3 games? Give me a break, call it a conspiracy if you want but a thrown game is obvious to anyone paying attention. Lets ignore the fact that they both are on video saying as much not knowing they were being recorded. But him telling spooky “wasn’t me” is all you need.
The problem is ganging up on someone or singling them out, consistently, for group amusement or thrills. Whether it’s a man or a woman that’s being tested, there’s a point when that isn’t cool.

I’ve enjoyed the show and it made me very excited for the game. But I’ve cancelled my order, because the lack or clarity over the gems is a killer. If you’re selling things that affect gameplay balance, de facto you don’t really care about it.
Ya dude I have to agree with this. When u watch those matches, there were soo many times he couldve tagged in his juri safely, when his juri has but a pixel of health. I’m also of the “he threw that match” camp.
