Thanks man I really apreciate it
You don’t check the thread cuz it’s
Im sorry, I dont find much ways to make it fun
I saw in jap vids some Yuns will activate from across the screen then somehow do s.mp and somehow move across the screen really fast. How is this done?
cancel the s. mp with s. short
But after canceling the s.mp with s.lk, what do I do next? another s.mp? b/c the way the japs do it, they cancel the s.lk so fast i don’t even see it.
Mash St Strong and st short at the same time
yes you cancel the s.mp with s.short and then repeat. if you do it fast enough you’ll glide across the screen and it looks like you’re just doing s.mp. hope that helps.
can anyone give me advice on how to do s.mk xx Genei-Jin?..most of the time yun will activate, but they drop too fast for me to juggle…i tried to do the tiger knee motion but i usually just super jump
:mk: and then VERY quickly :qcf: :uf::qcf::p:
I do it that way in the arcade, but the speed difference on PS2 makes it pretty hard for me to do it that way. On PS@ I do :qcf: , neutral :mk: , :qcf: :uf: then I piano the punches.
the way i was taught by pyro is to s. mk xx super jump (down -> up) then from the up motion, come back counter-clockwise all the way around to :qcf: :p: . I find it really easy to do it this way.
what are some good guard strings when in GJ? i mean say they block low and i want to put pressure. i usually do a few f+mk’s or UOH’s (but i still haven’t figured out how to connect something after a UOH). also in relation to that and from what i’ve observed from ppl and vids is that i should try to get myself within range of a command grab. should i be going for a command grab more than trying to confuse my opponent when in blockstun? one more question, how many c.lk’s should i do when connecting to a s.hp xxshoulder? i see that c.lk’s xx s.hp xx shoulder combo or connection is very useful and necessary to learn.
So many c.lk’s that you can confirm the hits, of course :wgrin:
You can do couple of c.lk’s and then walk c.lk’s, walk c.lk’s
Sometimes walking forward doing s.lk’s enough to keep opponent pinned down till your close enough for Zenpou.
If you want to go very risky, you can try s.hp, dash, zenpou or c.lk’s or something.
The best thing to do against GJ is low-block. The funny part is that Yun almost always ends up doing some damage with GJ as long as the opponent is only blocking.
UOH and especially f+mk is really bad during pressure since people start parrying that shit on reaction. I still sometimes (like once in a 100 matches) try blockstring straight into UOH hoping it’s confusing enough but it usually ends with my Yun wasting meter and probably losing.
Zenpou >>>>>>> overheads
As for connecting a combo after UOH you need right distance to combo stuff after UOH. Try UOH, c.lk into s.hp, shoulder or f+hp.
If you’re just confirming c.lk while in gj, i usually do 3 into s.fierce xx shoulder but it’s possible to do only one. You can also do s.mp xx forward fierce after the c.lk. Most of the time if you’re putting block pressure on them with c.lk you’ll be able to just walk up and zenpou tenshin. It’s really up to your judgement whether or not to try f+mk then c.lk xx s.hp xx shoulder. Sometimes this works or sometimes it doesn’t. Mix it up to get them to change up blocking high and low. That will increase your chances of catching them with c.lk xx (whatever) when they guess wrong. :wgrin:
Something that I’m trying to get down is groundbased GJ. Like in this RX vid:

It’s at the 48 sec mark.
How in the hell is he linking everything on the ground? I can’t tell what he’s doing. And it there even any advantage to staying on the ground as opposed to juggling?
so the :uf: is imputted before the second :qcf: huh?
i always thought it was :qcf: :qcf::uf:
anyways am having a hard time with this yun strat…
btw…aktham your avatar owns all.
the opponent is in a crouch there fore allowing hits to connect more because it takes more time to recover froma hit while u get hit while crouching
i do it qcf, tigerknee and it works fine and personally its way easier then having to think about qcf kick tigerknee also no worries about accidently dp kick
also h82 while you will never use the juggle in that vid the other ground juggles do much more damage then the standard midscreen shoulder shit almost as much as a regular genei jin combo plus it looks cool
I agree, it does look cool and the only person that I can say I’ve really seen use it on vids is Pyro. So what you guys are saying is that groundbased is ONLY possible when they’re crouching? Also, is there a magic series of attacks (standard combo) or can you pretty much link anything together?
