Hit-confirm maybe. These are the times you’re going to be using it: After knocking them down, do it as they wakeup. CrLK is a great little meaty, beats SRK on wakeup (except EX of course). You’re going to do it after a dash in (pretty hard to do tbh) and after a jump in. I can nail it 9 times out of 10 on a controller. What I do is this: QCF motion, then I hold down and crLK, as crLK hits, I do QCF+Punch.
You can head butt her bHP. But the spacing has to be just right. Refer to Sanchez for further confirmation, he used to do it all the time when we played at Regency I never understood HOW.
As for go to hit confirm, unfortunately, it is close mk. You can use c.mk ex flash chop to super, but that might not be worth it. I use standing strong to hit confirm into super.
I could still use help in my Urien matchup.
I headbutt crouching normals, bro. That’s how hard I am.
No Trini_Judoka, c.lk x super is not hit confirmable. Somebody was just wondering about how to do the motion. Close mk is hit confirmable. You can do c.lpx2 as well, but it doesn’t come in handy very often.

I’ve also DDT’ed Q’s sweep.
Whoa whoa whoa, wait a second. THIS I would like to see.
Cr lk is confirmable on arcade IMO. But it’s tuff.
Neutral st.mp has more range than st.mk, perhaps, but it’s too easy to do the damn t+mp by accident. SAII has kinda crappy range, so when I think I’ll be too far to cancel into it and get all the hits (of course), I use st.mp, but to connect specials only (elbow slash esp.). st.mk is a weird SA link I recently watched an old vid with Genki linking a cr.lk on a standing Makoto, but that’s about as easy to do consistently as hit-cofirming it, imo
cr.lpx2 xx SAII is good for trying to stop some characters’ dash-ins and poke them out of throw attempts, with good timing and anticipation. Oddly enough, i don’t see players use cr.lp for a powerbomb tic after stuffing throw attempts.
Oh, and some of my fave’ ways to set up powerbombs are after knocking down opponents after super connects, then whiffing a flash chop or elbow slash --> powerbomb. When I feel desperate against good players and need to mix it up more, I do a powerbomb on empty-jump-ins, or a flash chop as they land (mixing up mp and hp versions). They never seem to parry the latter lol.
Decent AA for me is st.mp, delayed regular air knee smash or ex version done fast, but I prefer st.mp into flash chop or ex chop, which Adolfo liked. I’m curious to try st.mp into elbow slash, but that might not be very safe or practical (just a way to get under them and get some distance if they parry the st.mp).
He’s also got the st.lp x forever, like the shotos’ AA.
is he anywhere to be found? I haven’t heard from Adolfo in a loooooooooooooooong time.
Also, has anyone noticed the high/mid invulnerability on Alex’s mp and hp flash chops? Can anyone explain these properties to me? Shogo told me about it at FFA yeaaaaars ago but I never payed it too much mind until recently when I saw it happen during a mash fest. Is mp mid invulnerable and hp high invulnerable or do they both have the only low vulnerable property? Shogo called it some KSK secret that Arlieth took home with him.
Awww. Last I heard, Adolfo was playing Guile on XBL in 4, but that was at least a year ago. JR was playin’ him.
I think hp flash chop trades with some specials (maybe normals too, such as Necro’s b+hp?), and if he recovers first, he gets a free hit, I think. I guess it helps that he can’t be knocked down, while trading hits with it
Fucked around the other day. It looks like Alex’s stMP beats Remy’s Cold Blue Kick from Mid-screen. I think the same applies to Alex’s tHP. Or it could have been a case of weird hit box detection.
Hey, quickie Urien question. I know Urien can juggle Alex after doing Headbutt and then a quick crLP and another Headbutt. But after he does the headbutt, your throw (LP+LK) should beat that crLP, right? I would think so, clearly.
So browsing the forum I come across this old vid:
Skip to the 5 minute mark for Alex footage.
I thought I was high from the cold medicine when I saw this. Half the shit they had in that clip I’ve never ever seen in an actual match. First: it completely omits canceling into SA2 off of LP, jump ins, Shoulder, Flash Chop, and crLK. What it does show is Alex cancelling SA2 of of tMP, tHP, and crMP. WTF? I’m guessing they’re using the DC version or something, because that is some weird voodoo right there.
Oddly enough; I actually just now tried HP Flash Chop, bHP, into SA2 and it works but you can’t connect the final hit. So I guess you can add that to Alex’s bag of tricks. Is it usable in a match? Fuck no. Is it lulzy? Fuck yeah.
Yo, dawg…
Okay, something different. And by the way, I’ve never seen an Alex player link SA2 off of crMP or tHP in ANY match. Never. Watched every Shend video featuring Alex play, never seen it.
Anywho, what are some tips you guys can give to keep Yun in the corner? It’s hard to keep the little bastard in his corner so any advice would be appreciated.
I don’t think it’s possible to link after crouch MP.
Link with Twd HP, you have to hit them with the last frames of animation, it’s too hard to use that in a normal match. Not worth the risk/reward ratio.
Keep Yun in corner:
Vertical jump HK, or MK, when you anticipate jumps
Twd MP to chop him out of the air.
Twd HP to stop his ascent of jump when trying to escape, or when he tries to do more divekick pressure.
These are your safest bets. Knee rise or EX Knee rise is too risky, IMO
I mostly use vertical jump HK or Twd HP.
Highest damage, easy to do option (risky) = Air to air Alex HP dive, juggle Yun into corner, follow up with the boot, then Twd HP.
Game, set, match.
Anyone watched that new 3S Highlights video? The SA3 Alex player was a nice clip.
I guess SA3 would be a little useful against Oro, but even then EX Elbow is a good alt.
Quick question: How do you combo off of crLPx2 into SA2? I can do it easily when standing, but I can’t do it when crouching.
The same concept applies to any cr.short x 2 combo. You just, uh, do it. No real trick to it. Buffer the motion and go with it.
