Yea, I didn’t know that you could do it until I saw (I think it was Sanchez?) do it in a recent video.
Works on everyone except: Alex, Hugo, Q, uhh… Urien(?).
It’s in my video! That will never see the light of day…:shake:
Awww, come on man…Share.
Anything for a fellow Morrissey fan.
so I’m guessing its a deep dash in after like a super in the corner and tehn down hp? I can’t imagine too many more situations where the other player is close enough with the exclusion of the many that come with them not rolling. And we all know everyone rolls.
Well, here’s a preview of the alex video
:lovin:
Is it a combo video or a tutorial video, and when can we expect to see it?
a tutorial and never.
Hey all, I’ve got a question. Recently I started playing Alex in 3S, and I really like how he plays. However, I don’t know if I’m playing him right.
I usually pick SAII, since I suck at 360’s, so SA1 Is out, and even though I like SAIII, it’s just not as practical in most cases as II. (Well it is, but I just don’t land it as much as I should )
When I play, I go for pokes/sweeps, maybe a QCF+P every so often, just usually keeping out of their range and in mine, trying to go for knockdown. Then on wakeup, I try and fake them out by going for different command grabs, or just hanging back and throwing out a QCF+P or a low sweep or a S.Fierce, and obviously linking up supers when I get the chance. Sometimes I’ll try and go for rushdown if I feel confident enough that I know what the opponent’s going to do; then I keep them down with HCB+P, QCF+P, SRK+K, Etc… based off of what they’re doing.
Is this a somewhat solid way to play, or should I work something else into my game?
Let them get in their favorite low poke range and jump in HP,mk, Ex Chop…if you hit the overhead/powerbomb after the knockdown they are almost stunned (i.e. match is almost over). It works pretty well (for me) at least if you don’t spam it (or parry their anti airs)
You just described what every player past scrubtitude does nowadays. Care to be a bit more specific? Match ups maybe?
That’s what I thought
Hmm, well the person I play with the most plays Ken/Yun/Yang, respectively.
So with Ken, it’s not easy. Usually hang back for a bit parrying hadoukens, jumping over them with whiffed stomps, etc. When I get close enough I usually go for a sweep, or if he comes to me I throw out a S.Roundhouse/F.Med.Punch/Knee Slam/etc. based on his approach, continue to poke and the like with Medium Kicks Punches until I get knockdown, then on wakeup I go after him with Slash/Sweep/Stomp/Power Bomb, or HCB+K if he’s in the corner. Usually after that I just mix things up and try to go for repeated knockdowns. If I get lucky on my slashes, I’ll go for the extra Power Bomb or Headbut for extra damage.
With Yun, I’m more cautious due to Genei-Jin, but for the most part it’s not all that different. I’ll make a bit less use of the slash and 6+Fierce grab because of Yun’s height, but I might use HCB+K a bit more because his Yun tends to use lower hitting moves. I also might use Stun Gun on Yun because it’s a bit easier to connect with due to him not always paying attention during my blocking of genei-jin.
Yang is pretty much the same as Yun, B&B and all that, but a bit more slashes and longer lasting moves due to my opponent’s tendency to use the warp. and a bit more Stomps too, they counters Yang’s slashes pretty well.
I’m not exactly having trouble playing Alex, I’m just trying to make sure I’m on the way to playing him the way he should be played. However my execution/link-ups suck
What’s a good option after connecting with a F+Medium Punch? I usually mix it up with a low poke and then go for a slash, heavier move, or Headbut.
Edit After watching a few of the vids further back in this thread, I’ve noticed I need to step up my game a lot. Not near as quick with moves as those other Alex players are. And it looks like I need to work on my jump ins and B&B A bit more, maybe throw in a few more EX Slashes as well; still, any other advice would be great.
I hate you 3S players. You all have proper grammar and can read.
I get that a lot no matter where I go
And I played a pretty solid Alex today thanks to reading up on this stuff. Then I took a break, and proceeded to suck as usual
For 20 bucks an hour I’ll totally give alex lessons =P
For 20$ an hour you better be female and attractive as well
Well for now it’s training mode + reading the entirety of this thread. Hopefully I can improve.
r3nic is in fact a hot chick.
So what do Alex players think of dash(into grab range) stomp?
or dash back lk/ex-slash elbow?
one of the sexiest 3s players alive.
Well if you’re ever in Cali drop me a PM then
I’ve got a question though: How do you all approach with Alex? I tend to move pretty slowly, dashing in/out of range, and maybe using the elbow slash/stomp to close distance, and it gets me punished a lot…
