The Complete 2009 SBO Qualifiers Results Thread

I’m a Uker, and I want us to rep the UK/EU as much as possible, and we certainly didn’t get stomped on. But Justin Wong is a great player and he beat the best that Europe has to offer, so we have 2 choices:

  1. Complain and hope we can ban non-EU players next year

OR

  1. Get better so if it happens again EU players could bust him up.

As people have said, they’re wasn’t any rule against it and if we can’t stand up to competition then what’s the point?

Anyways, what the UK needs to do now is to go over to Denjin and wreck up their shit now Justin’s already qualified :wgrin:

UK 3s players are more than welcome. They seem legit

Awesome

lets go team europe!!

Hi,
I’m the SBO top orga for Eu.

The rules allowed Justin W and Marn to enter the tournament, so I don’t see any problem with that.
JWong and Marn played all the tournament 2 vs 3 !

They won, too bad for EU’s team, but that’s SBO.

About Hayao and PinoAB7, it was at Cannes in 2006, and they did not applied for SBO because they didn’t care about it.

Peace.

P.S. : About the JWong’s haters, don’t take youtube as an exemple, the most of them are lame who never entered a single tournament or they hates him because he’s strong and say it loud.
It was a real pleasure to see so many US players in France and I hope to see more of you in France next year.

Btw, they almost lost in SBO qualif finals…it was close. (rofl@sagat ultra)

ggs to them, that’s it.

ps: JustinW, next time, I hope I can play you on akuma-unlocked-xbox…
couldnt even choose my char :’(

One more thing to think about:
For everyone who said that they were scared of losing the denjin spot etc:

SBO tourneys are single elim 1 match. There’s very little room for error. Even the best player can lose a single match in a tourney. So now that there’s only 2 qualifiers left that Justin/Marn could go to (Europe and Denjin), why would they throw away the chance at one of them? Especially if they asked permission, and permission was granted.

I don’t know how many people here have done qualifiers of any sort, but it’s hard to do it in one shot. Having a second chance as a backup is always a good choice, and he had the means to go to the tournament, so why not? There’s no 100% guarantee anyone will win any tournament, even the top players will admit that, so why is it looked down upon to have “another chance”? I planned on going to every single SBO qualifier I could go to until I qualified, or until there were no more. I wanted as many chances as I could get. It’s not being cowardly, it’s being SMART. I think it would be stupid to just go to one and be like “IM GONNA WIN THAT ONE” and then lose and then it’s over. No, go to as many as possible.

But yeah, saying that Europe doesn’t deserve one is BS, too. Give them some respect and props for battling it out. Do I think Europe should get a spot next year exclusive to them? Yes. Do I think it was BS that Justin/Marn won this year? No, because it was all a part of the rules. There was absolutely no cheating or anything. They won the tourney fair and square, and got the OK to go to SBO.

Team ASShole: public statement
Good shit Justin and marn, i dont know why anyone is complaining !
if they werent good enough to beat a scrub who lost to Daigo ! then they definitely should not be able to even leave there country to even play SF4 casually, as a matter of fact SF4 should be quarantined in certain areas of Europe, in order to avoid the new pandemic of “SCRUB FLU”. its been popping up everywhere in China town fair, theres a wide spread of it in cali and two players from there brought it here at ECT, now jersey and VA have it.

ANDREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

lololol Scrub Flu.

I heard the government created scrub flu to decline players from dat stimulus…

hahahaha, Andre why are you so hype!?

Ok, ok. Just win SBO and I’ll be fine. Not you, them.

Today’s SBO Updates:

Tekken 6:BR D-5 Block - Joe (Nina) / Kyamome (Hwoarang) / Mister (Lee) qualifies for SBO!

FUC B-5 Block - Kuroda (Rider) qualifies for SBO! (Note: I doubt it’s the same 3S Kuroda though.)

:wow:
Damn dre. I love that WC hate. That’s makes me hype. That post was just… WOW.

Nothing wrong with America coming down and winning. It’s a great thing because it gives Europe a better taste of what the level is like, and honestly, if Europe couldn’t win against USA, how will they win against Japan?

It means that Europe now knows where it stands on the radar, and that we’ll be more prepared next time and things will be even more hype.

Much much much props to the American’s for coming down infact, they were awesome people. What this does is it now creates a link between the 3 big scenes and gives us a stronger bond in the realm of fighting game competition. It raises the level much higher and will help us catch up to Japan alot quicker imo.

So stop the hate and stop with the stupid comments. If you weren’t there, chill abit instead slinging of insults to the likes of Wong and Co. We at the tourney did not mind at all, so why should you? I tell you now that those who competed against Wong and Marn in SFIV and 3S, and those who watched, would have much rather preferred them being there than if they had not showed up.

See you American’s next time, until then, we’ll both get to training our asses off. And if you’re looking on SVB09 in September because you can’t wait a full year, well, the hype will come all the sooner. And because after this, alot of us wanna do the same and come over to America and really travel for comp. This is what games are about and events like these bring out the best of us.

lol East Coast

im pretty sure if they competed and qualified with a 2 man team, they GO with a 2 man team.

if that is NOT the ruleset then why not add on a european player as the 3rd as a courtesy.

I think it just matters on who you sign up with. As long as they specified Hsien when they signed up, regardless if he was there for qualifiers or not, hes on the team.

good shit heart nana in BB. have you officially qualified or do you still have to win an area tournament? this system is pretty confusing.

I’ve officially qualified.

Thats “Hold Dat” sir… whats with that proper spelling??? lol

good shit MARN!!! Glad to see you are finishing your breakfast
