THE Combo Video thread (New Releases + Commentary)

Maj: actually, come to think of it, they most probably used the record option in the game. It’s an option where you put in commands and the combo comes out for you. I tested it out and with some knowledge anyone can pull off impossible combos with the right inputs. Also, notice all (or most) of the videos on their site not having the top border of the game? Most probably because when you input the combo, a replay sign will appear at the top. Looks like they’re trying to hide it.

Means anyone with some creative ideas can put out a NBC combo vid. :stuck_out_tongue:

JustDefend.com is releasing a DVD/VCD of matches and stuff taken from Xbox CvS2 Live. They just released the preview for it. This thing is fucking awesome (assuming you get the references).

Persona: How does it work? Is it like frame-by-frame command inputs? Or can you just put in the moves you want without precise commands? I mean do you put in “C,pause 5 frames,d, df, f+C” or do you put in “C xx Power Wave”? Seems like a really interesting option actually - even for beginners who want to see what super moves look like even though they can’t do the commands.

Hmm like the first option (frame wise). Makes it very useful for pulling off a lot of links in one combo. That’s most probably how they did the Mr. Big combo. Put in the right inputs for the loop then copy paste several times.

So far getting normal combos and loops done is easy, but I still need to find out how to dash or use roll cancel.

This is actually fun, wish I had a program stick.

OK, just wondering if there’s already basic/intermediate combo vid for Samurai Showdown 4? Mainly which specials can cancel from the CD - B - B - C chain, which specials can cancel from the CD - AABBCCABCCC chain, and also No Contest combos for all characters. Sorry, no Rage Explosion combos, since I can’t do those and there’s already a vid with tons of Rage Explosion combos. I’m thinking of making one of these, since I don’t think there’s many vids on this

Also, I have found more infinites for Genjuro and Amakusa, but there are extremely hard to do to make them unblockable. Don’t know if someone found these but they are:

Genjuro (corner): CD - A - A - B - B - C - C - A - B - C - C - C - :qcf + A - repeat

Amakusa (corner, raged up): CD - A - A - B - B - C - C - A - B - C - C - C - :qcf + A - repeat (but I just repeat the infinitie 5 times and just dash and do :dp + D).

The infinities are unblockable, is just I could do them only 10% of the time, when I set the training dummy to block. And Genjuro’s timing on the CD - AABBCCABCCCCC chain is weird and always mess up alot on that. Also, Amakusa seems to move far away during the CD chains or when trying to rechain after :qcf + A does dash + C. I’m thinking of just doing those, without setting the dummy to block and just say that its unblockable if rechained just as the special animation ends.

How I setup the dummy to block is I just assign the dummy to move back on a key on the keyboard and just had something to keep that button held down, while I try the combo on a control pad. But I always start with a throw, since it can’t be blocked.

Also, I don’t think I could make a SF: Movie combo vid. Kinda hard to do, since there’s no cheat to turn off the time. MAME emulators have a button that disables cheats (F6), so the dummies life bar can be filled up again. SF: Movie does have an infinite life cheat, but with no time cheat, its kinda annoying to reselect the same fighter over and over again, when time’s up.

Edit: It looks like I’m not the only one that knows these. There’s an FAQ on GameFAQs by Darklancer that list infinities for all characters, but I’m thinking some can be blocked in the middle of them.

Took me an hour to program this combo (a combo from their site) but it’s my first time. :stuck_out_tongue:

Vic Viper: if you’re doing an infinite vid I don’t think there’s one around. The most advanced SSIV vid I’ve seen is the japanese one that Ozy capped for me, but their mostly rage combos.

Basara is also an infinite dummy. Certain things will juggle him forever if done behind his back. Genjuro’s qcb S comes to mind.

Yeah, I could tell Basara is a juggle dummy. The dummies I usually use are usually mid size characters. Sometimes small characters, but I know you can’t perform the No Contest on Nakoruru and Rimururu.

I better start writing a list of combos to do, before making caps then.

A pair of insanely good SvC Chaos videos just showed up on adakino. Gilley and NKI, if you guys are reading this, you gotta get the first video. Soooooo many Sonic Booms! He also does this crazy thing with Mars Peoples’ UFO super, using it to nullify the last hit of Akuma’s super fireball so that it doesn’t knock down, so Akuma can run/dash in and do some more craziness. I had actually seen the second video before (though i can’t remember where i got it from), but the first video is new to me.

(please don’t rape the guy’s bandwidth - just download the clips from the games you actually care about)

To the person asking for Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition combos, there’s a Yamazaki combo at the very bottom of the movie clips page that you might wanna check out.

Wow…Those vids were fuckin INSANE. Those sonic booms arent humanly possible, But goddamn. And I didnt know akuma could combo that many super fireballs.

Yeah they are

First week SvC came out I was owning up with Guile. I did a 5 hit sonic boom combo…with only sonic booms. I kinda figured he had an infinite after I saw this.
The “back of the head” sonic boom type of combos make the game slow waaay down, more than old school SF slowdown.

Good stuff Maj

The boom stuff in SvC is so easy to do… yet you get gc’d the fuck down and rocked haha =\

edit - wow at some of those combos. wtf!

ok, I dunno wtf I just saw, but it looked like this HUGE bitch beat the shit out of nothing.

What the hell was that?

EDIT: wow, that game with the 3d yamazaki looks terrible lol

anyone who’s spent anytime with svc knows you can do silly sonic boom combos but I don’t think anyone could pull off that guile combo without a programable stick. Especially the second half.

They arent possible, Unless it was a glitch, Or some type of program. If they are…I cant do them, and my reflexes are fuckin great.

Or I could rape the guy’s bandwidth and host the vids at my site…10 gig transfer limit per month…

^-- I get about 1000 downloads per month of popular videos, so do watch your limit and make sure you don’t get charged if you go over. (My site started averaging 1 terabyte per month before I even noticed… I’d have been fucked if they charged for excess bandwidth.)

The booms are easy enough to do, it’s just the other crap during the exceed mode or wtvr SvC calls it.

TERABYTE??? Goddamn!..DAMN!! I’m sorry, I’m still trying to wrap my head around that size…oh, damn! I need to lie down…

Regarding SvC, i don’t think that it’s a true infinite only because if it was that simple, we would have seen it in a lot of videos by now. My guess (from just looking at it) is that he keeps it going by walking forward a couple of pixels every single time. If it redizzies then you could consider it an infinite. It’s just crazy that this guy did a 100% Guile combo in SvC without even using Sonic Hurricane.

If any of you CvS2 players wanna help make a combo video, check out this thread:

On a random unrelated note, the newest issue of the Street Fighter comic has a bigass two-page spread of Sagat doing lvl3 hotfoot super. All C-Groove players need to go buy that ASAP. Ask for Street Fighter II, issue#2 by Udon Comics.

Can anyone post that Team upset Cvs2 vid, its in the CV hall of fame but I can’t seem to post the link.

Those guys had some crazy ass combos

Bunch of random combos from the new Samurai Shodown game. At least i think it’s the new SamSho game. It’s dope how there’s a huge pause after every hit. Every link combo looks stylish for no good reason because of those huge pauses. I haven’t seen anything else exciting lately.

Bisqwit’s TAS page has a new GBA Sonic Advance 2 speedrun. In general, Sonic speedruns are the most exciting to watch just because of how fast the character moves when pushed to maximum potential. Or maybe i’m just being a Sega fanboy.

BuketHead: Um, why? That thing is pretty old now. It was kind of cool when it came out but it didn’t really have anything new in it.
