If you anticipate it you can airthrow him out of it if he does it on wakeup. There’s a small window where he’s vulnerable before he flies away. Atleast I do it all the time, haven’t tested it in the lab. Otherwise just jump towards him in the air and j.mp. Or you can slide it if he tries to land close to you.
Also against Viper, ex roll will autocorrect vs most burnkicks so if you have charge go for it. U1 will beat all burnkicks on wakeup, either by going through and hitting her from the wall or by hitting her on the way up.
Dan matchup (been playing alot vs Ixion): You need to keep him out, which can be hard since his dankus bypass most of your pokes. They can be beat out by normals but if not at max range they will trade. Once Dan is in you will get murdered, his corner pressure is insane and you get there fast since the dankus push you back. Dan has pretty shitty pokes, his st.hk has an awesome hitbox / hurtbox (as far as i know it doesn’t have any lower body hurtbox) but is slow as hell so it is pretty easy to whiffpunish if you learn the timing. He can be air to aired but it is a mixup since he can cancel into lk danku and it beats pretty much everything you got. His frametraps do alot of damage and he can fadc to extend them and do even more. Overall he should be treated like Sakura / Bison, his pressure is similar to Sakuras but better vs Vega imo, and his Dankus work alot like Bisons scissor kicks in that they beat out lows and are safe on block.
If he traps you in the corner and cancels into lk danku you can slide to get under it. If you find yourself flustered by his corner pressure (it will happen, trust me), ex ST will trade alot of the time and give you some breathing room.
After a teched throw Dan is at the perfect range for ex danku, it is safe and leads into a knockdown. Treat it like Hawks ex spire. Dan can throw it out in footsies aswell to beat out pokes, it stays active for alot longer than it looks like.
Use cosmic heel pressure sparingly in this matchup, you do not want to be close to him.
His U1 can be focused, but most Dan’s will use U2, it works like Ryus U1, can be Fadc:d into from an srk.
Dan’s cr.mk reaches far and shrinks his hurtbox. If the Dan player throwtechs with this cosmic heel will whiff and it generally reaches too far for any walk in walk out throw shenanigans. He can cancel it into Dankus.
Short version: Keep him out, be aware that he can to some extent bypass your footsies with Dankus, and pray you don’t end up in the corner.
i really don’t have an answer of what to do if bison’s use those shenanigans up close, but on wake up, you can safe jump, os jump back air throw. instantly beats fake headstomp, avoids actual head stomp for you to punish when you both land, ex pc won’t hit you and you can punish with cr.mp to ex fba. a very easy way of doing this os is:
jump j.hp/j.hk, ub, db+(cr.lp+cr.lk+cr.mk), cr.lp, cr.mp x ex fba
ub needs to be inputted when the j.hp/hk hits, db+etc needs to be pressed fast enough where the air throw will throw bison before he can get away with his devil reverse, but slow enough where the cr.mk will actually come out if bison didn’t do anything. this os will lose to ex scissor kick but who the shit wakes up with that, hahaa
if you know he’ll teleport back (he has no meter) than os foward jump hk. you need to press the hk early to hit him in the chest or else he will recover and block.
I’ve been playing a whoooole lot since Ultra came out, so I guess that sounds like a pretty good idea!
The tricky thing is piecing together all the information and deciding what’s useful and what’s not useful.
The character changes should be easy to update, but there’s still the matter of the wealth of matchup knowledge all the Claw players have here, and getting it all together in one easy to view location
Any and all help is always a good motivator to work on it.

I think for the most part it will just be character matchup that’s the tough bit to fill in, searching through these forums or individual experience from other claws or myself to make the manual more complete.
But knowing it’s being used really does make me want to put more work into it!

I’m doing an in-depth tutorial on Vega for ultra so not sure if it may come in use for you but I’ll post it in this sub-forum. I found a lot of new tricks that no-one ever seems to discuss such as the ability.to do any special move from standing cl.hp including the EX FBA and such as well as cl.mp can be cancelled too.

I intend to also cover on something you never see other tutorials do and that’s visual perception such as correctual spacing and stuff but also timing for links which is an essential for any claw player. Other cool things too such as setups like cosmic heel lk setups and stuff.
Unfortunately it’ll be ghetto recorded because I have no capture caed but I’ll attempt to make the quality as comfortable as possible.
Well cosmic heel and standing lk does a reset of course which can allow for some tricky stuff. In AE I found that you can actually crossup a number of the cast with jump HP after this reset but mostly on big characters. I haven’t been utilising the lab much in Ultra but I intend to see what elsee I can do with certain resets. Such as cosmic heel with st.lk into U1 as a buffer can be used as part if the mind arsenal but I want to check if there is a possible crossup in this particular situation. There’s other resets that may lead to other things too. Of course you can always do the reset and crossup lk but I want to work on other setups and see what to impplement in the video since I believe cosmic heel offers more pleasurable potential than the usual stuff. Call me crazy but I have no online atm so I’m digging deep with character now.
