I heard on stick you can piano this input and for some players (Honda players for example) it’s comfortable. But I don’t think it was necessary. It didn’t give me problems thought. You have them?
i forgot to ask this.
what are the active frames of her v skill? when does the active frames start cuz i keep mistiming when to hit the buttons and eating jump ins into combo.
It’s true. I don’t know any other top players who even potentially would main her. Many of them tried. Some of them even liked her. But all of them are already playing top characters.
The other consern is that Poongko is i think unsponsored. If he was able to go to many events and do well - it definitely would be good for Kolin popularity and perseived viability.
I’m a complete noob so this is going to be a silly question: What is the real difference between her V-Skill and her counters(frost touch)? I can’t tell when to use one over the other(other than the counters being able to go high or low).
Only started playing this for real because of Kolin, love her design and playstyle.
Frost Touch is faster, does more damage, does more stun and gives you a hard knockdown into whatever setup you want. It also switches sides, so if you’re cornered you’re getting out after connecting with it. It’s best used against telegraphed moves or for hard reads whenever you’re negative and are convinced your opponent will hit a button (EX version in that case).
V-Skill is more of a counter-poking tool in the neutral game or a way to catch some moves that might be hard to react to with Frost Touch in the heat of the moment (Mika’s dropkick, Cammy’s V-Skill, Gief’s charged HP and so on). It’s way too slow to be considered a ‘proper’ counter like Frost Touch but it can also be a decent AA.
Yeah. I think her placement is good. You cant expect her to compete with shotos in popularity.
Also that statistics never feels right. It feels like i only play balrogs, guiles, akumas and kens. Ryu is rare, kolin and zangiev super rare. Maybe i’m in a wrong league.
hmmmm. i wonder if cr. jab links into cr. strong.
because if it does…
then that means we can cr. jab>cr. mp>st. mk>st. hp>mp+mk…essentially overdrive combo.
time to hit the lab to find out.
Only on counterhit and it’s confirmable.
Fishing for counterhit with cr.LP, cr.MP is a valid tactic. But beware that it has 5 frame gap on block so it’s easily interruptible if you become too predictable.
st.LP, st.MK may be better trap since it has only 3 frame gap - uninteruptible by normals. It’s also confirmable into target combo. But ends with -2 st.MK - it’s a tradeoff.
Also a good trap cr.LP, st.LP since it has 2 frame gap - uninteruptible by normals too.
