Bout two hours and it’s not really worth it for the price. Do what specs did and watch it on the Youtube.
So? I’m 99.9% sure the majority of Castlevania sales come from Europe/US. There are more PS3’s/Xboxes/Wii’s/PC’s out there than 3DS’s by far. Konami is fucking up by having this game being exclusive. They also fucked up making the “Rebirth” games Wii exclusive. The more systems a game is on, the more it sells. Imagine when/if Diablo III gets a console port, they’d be printing even more money than they are now.
I understand a first party developer making an exclusive game for X console, but Konami is a 3rd party developer and they should be putting their games on as many systems as possible.
They are a Japanese company. They will care more about their domestic sales than any other region. They’re seeing 3DS games selling a lot so they’ll want to put a game from one of major franchises on it. I don’t see it as a fuck up at all. Fuck, Castlevania has a large presence on Nintendo’s handhelds for the past 10 years. It’s more or less a portable franchise now with the odd console installment on occasion.
Capcom is a Japanese company. They seem to care more about worldwide sales more than their native sales by far for every game they put out except for Monster Hunter. Castlevania games should be on consoles more often to hit a wider audience and to get more sales. I’m pretty sure LoS by itself did better than ANY Castlevania game put on any portable in the last 10+ years, and I believe Harmony of Dissonance did really well, too.
Yeah, but Konami’s ALWAYS had exclusive games on various systems. In a way, I feel like it’s probably why Castlevania hasn’t done as well as other franchises from that era.
Still though, Konami was very good about using whatever system’s advantages were to make a great CV game. Imagine if they’d put out the same game on the SNES, Genesis, and TG-16 without regard to the SNES’s Mode 7, Genesis’ superior sound card, and the Turbo Duo.
It gives us more games to play, even if it means that we have to hunt down more systems. And if anything, they’re starting to put more of the same thing on each different system nowadays. Gonna have to get myself a PS3. …
LoI plays so much better than it. If the game played like LoI, but had all the level design of LoS (though without so much a zoomed out cam… that shit hurt combat) then I could say it was the best. But the combat was total crap in LoS.
Haunted Castle is fun as fuck. Though when I played it we had a small group of people all trying to 1 quarter it for a few months. I succeeded.
LOI’s combat is shallow as balls…
“Genesis’ superior sound card”
This is a troll right?
Actually the Genesis did have a better sound card I believe. Just barely anyone knew how to use it.
I’m relatively sure the SNES had the superior sound hardware.
However both systems have produced amazing soundtracks so don’t get too hung up on that.
I’m not really looking forward to playing as Dracula but I guess it’s a nice change. I was hoping to fight him.
man i was really hopping for a new 2d 3DS adventure, not some dumb downed port of a console game i didnt much care for. sad panda
also is it me or is konami like outsourcing all their big franchises now, mercury stream is doing mirrors and platinum games is doing mg regurgitate or whatever its named now?
Konami been outsourcing for years. Silent Hill, Gradius, Contra. The latest games in those series all been outsourced
Goes to show how well people pay attention lol.
The last two Contra games were great, it’s crazy how good they were. I liked Contra 4 over Hard Corps though, by far.
Yeah sony did the sound chip for the snes too I believe. And yeah I know both did have great soundtracks. Just the snes one I thought was better.
Dear RONINCHAOS,
Please do not use the words “BULLSHIT” and “FUCKING”.

i was talking about the big ones, not franchises that havent been decent for years.
Has fucking Demolition Man taught people nothing?
