Technically Shanoa can materialize weapons due to her specific glyphs.
âŚThat should just tell you right there that he just doesnât like giving women weapons. I know I know, itâs the balance the magic gameplay out but I mean really? What wizard fights without some sort of wand or sword? Harry potter doesnât count.
I <3 Shanoa. One of the more capable female protagonists to come out of gaming in a while that isnât relegated to just fighting games(shout-outs to Samus Aran and Bayonetta). I really need to scoop a new copy of OoE and COTM since they were lost to me awhile back.
Say what you will about Judgment, but at least they got the music right:

Love how they remixed An Empty Tome

Love Judgmentâs take on Vampire KillerâŚ
Igarashiâs a bit of a chauvinist. See also: dude what wrote Other M (Samus) and dude what wrote Dissidia (Terra). Japanese ideal female stereotype for all the fanboys.
Anywho fuck Iga.
EDIT - Actually, Shanoaâs cool.
I just wish she didnât have all of the personality of a rock. I mean I know she lost her emotions and memories and all, but still.
Thatâs actually one of my favorite parts about her.
Of course I tend to like emotionless characters.
My Castlevania history:
Saw a lot of videos about it by AVGN, one day saw portrait of ruin for cheap one day, picked it up. Absolutely loved it. Picked up Dracula X chronicles, thought it was ok. While playing Harmony of Despair (Jonathan for life) someone told me thereâs another game on there, play Symphony of the Night. Fall in love, beat it. What else is good? I bought Castlevania on N64 even though I know itâs notoriously bad.
Even if some might disagree but Lords of Shadow. Obviously (in no particular order) Castlevania , Circle of the Moon, Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow (?), IV, Bloodlines, Order of Ecclesia, Curse of Darkness, and thatâs about it. Should keep you busy.
I always like going back to SOTN, and just using all the broken stuff you have.
Been playing Castlevania Puzzle: SotN on the iPhone. The gameâs actually pretty fun. Iâd like to see a tier list of the arcade mode characters, but from what Iâve experienced in the story mode, I think Succubus is broken tier.
I have that game, it actually has a surprising amount of quality put into it.
HmmâŚIâd say Iga removing Sonyas game from the timeline is less chauvinism and more disregarding a fucking awful awful AWFUL game. Also after removing her game, they tried to make that DC CV with Sonia in it. Also MAria held her own in SOTN, Shanoa is pretty damn strong, and uhâŚyea thatâs all I got.
But then that other shitty ass GBA CV is still in so whatever.
Top 3?
- Rondo of blood
- SOTN
- LOS
That would be my absolute favorite CV games.
Sad thing though i have never gotten to play dawn of sorrow. peoples always tell me what a great game it is meh
Shanoa is my favorite CV character, and one of my favorite female characters period.
I have yet to play the Genesis CV title, I believe I need to rectify that.
Ah yea man Bloodlines is great.
Also my favorite CV track to this day is still Riddle, without question.

Hearing it again in OoE put the biggest dumbest grin on my face in a while~

someone earlier mentioned soul reaver, that game was so awesome for the time, not sure how well it would hold up today, i lost my copy years ago
favorite castlevania:
Circle of the Moon
Jesus OoE hard mode lv1 is kicking my ass so far. Bats that do 67 damage per hit? Really?
^Pretend you are playing a classic CV game.
why CotM?
i feel like its the best blend of metroidvania and classic castlevania. maybe thatâs just me though. I really like SOTN too, but feel it was outdone by CotM in most ways.
