The Castlevania Thread

My best boss rush times are 2 min 27 sec for Course 1 and 46 sec for course 2.

Yeah, Hard lvl 50 was the one I tackled before taking on Hard lvl 1. Hard mode, the enemies do minimum of 30 damage no matter what, as you already experienced. Not only are you at lvl 1, all enemies do 60 damage minimum so it could really become a pain if you can’t kill them in one hit when running through them with Rapidus Fio, but its not too bad really…just that little area will have you pulling your hairs out, and the damn trap rooms like that electricity, fire, and spike rooms, you’ll be seeing quite a few GAME OVERs.

You need to run through the game 2.5 times to get all the possible pp, hp, heart maxes. So you can just run through normal mode after, grab the stuff until it doesn’t go up anymore, find a save, then start your new game. You can begin a new game+ regardless of where your progress is at.

I’m playing through Albus on normal, you can raise his attribute points for his attacks, I realized that when I was training on some Lizardmen Blades in the Misty Forest Road when you normally need Paries to get to that long path. I didn’t even level up, and the damage increased…neat. No menu truly sucks though…

Hmm, standard throws would be nice, even though all characters have a standard unblockable attack. A few are actually throws, but some of them are just basically another standard special attack, which provides nothing for up-close turtling.

There are some seriously ignorant, poorly written and ridiculous reviews up about this game. Especially the 1up and X-Play ones. Holy “we didn’t actually bother to play this game for longer than an hour and criticize things that aren’t even flaws,” Batman.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying this game is flawless or even great, but…fuck.

Tell me about it. And you really feel the slow ones, too. Having a guard crush attack like Simon’s just plain hurts the character when you see Aeon’s, Golem’s or even Maria’s.

I actually wouldn’t mind having throws either. Throws are pretty much the only thing I think Judgment is missing to be ‘complete’.

Also, I read 1up’s review and was like O_o. It did little more than bitch about the camera and then say ‘Game’s bad, end’. Not even more than 4 paragraphs long.

Playing OoE, at dracula, level 50 something he keeps killing me with his damn bat attack that reminds me alot of Ino’s boss super from GGXX…any tips?

The safe areas don’t change; they’re the same in every bat wave.

How do you do a new game plus? Whenever I select a file that I have marked as cleared, it just starts me from wherever I saved last and everything is already discovered and there are no more max ups or anything…

PROTIP: Use Volaticus to fly the entire fight and he never uses the bat attack.

X-play’s been flaky like that with reviews anyways. I mean they gave Devil May Cry 4 a 2 out of 5.

3 out of 5 for DMC4 (which is even worse when considering they gave even DMC2 a 4 out of 5), but the argument still stands… at 5 out of 5 for Fable II.

EDIT: Ugh, I almost forgot they actually said “manual controls weren’t the ideal choice” and that Automatic was better.

I love you, thanks~

can’t beat goliath :frowning:

NVM done.

You can use Melio Scutum to block them too.

Way to not even read my post. Good shit. When at the file selection screen, press right to highlight the CLEAR icon and then select it. I have a hard time believing you haven’t figured this out yet.

Thank you for finally being clear in your instructions. I was unaware that you could move the selection over onto the bat symbol itself. I thought you meant to pick a file that I showed I had cleared. I did at one point try touching the bat symbol with my stylus, but it didn’t select it. However your last post finally helped.

BTW, congrats on having such an enormous e-dick.

Thanks. I worked long and hard for it.

Can I get help with Albus? Tried using the dark thing you get in the room on the far left… it just makes him that much harder to see.

What else can I use?

I finished OoE a few days ago.

And to be honest…

The game sucks.

It’s wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too hard. It’s not even fun hard, it’s retarded hard.
It doesn’t matter if you level up or not, because every single hit from all of the later bosses take off 1/5 to 1/3 of your life bar.

Shanoa is a boring character. Rescuing villagers is a pain in the ass. Most of the weapons in the game are not cool or fun to use at all.

To get the 5star items (even with decent luck), you litterally need to grind for hours to get stuff. I leveled up 5 levels to get a Knight Helm. I leveled up for 5+ levels, over 1.5 hours on the Final Knight, and I still didn’t get the 5star item (forgot what it was, but read on Gamefaqs that it pretty much was not as good as Platinum Mail)

Albus mode is fun though.

I didn’t have a chance to play through Training Room and Large Cavern for too long, but I tried both for a bit, but they were hecka hard. Thankfully they’re optional.

Record 5 is awesome.

Laura is hot.

I thought the Training Room and Large Cavern were retarded at first, but I kept at it, came up with a strat to rape everything in the Large Cavern and get to the boss there with over 50% HP with ease. I actually had more trouble in the Training Room, but after some memorization I got that place down as well.

Laura got some big ass tittayz.

The dark one is great to use. Try equipping some stuff to boost your INT, ATK, MND.
Stay close enough to hit him with your attacks, and duck a lot. If you see him duck, jump up or over him. If he is standing and does his voice command for his magic black and white attack, then slide through him, you won’t get hurt most of the time.

When he does the giant acerbetus ball, whatever it’s called, just hold up to absorb it before it goes off. if you can’t absorb it fast enough, double jump over him.

You could try Ice or Light as well, they are decent. If your flames are boosted up, try using those too (if you got some red drops, ruby ring…)

Haven’t beaten yet… but this interests me
