I like the LoS music while playing. Though when I listened to the soundtrack I found myself not enjoying it, minus a few tracks. The music is for the game and is very fitting as you play. Waterfalls of Agharta is amazing.
The Spice Girls sold a lot of records, but that doesnât mean theyâre good.
LoS has a lot of elements from previous CV games. Itâs a fine CV game. IN what way is it a bad CV game? As for the soundtrack, itâs a totally different kind of game. They were going for something completely different and a soundtrack like the older games wouldnât compliment an LoS style game at all.
I DO agree that Yamane is awesome though. Iâve been listening to the LoI soundtrack lately and MAN is it good.
EDIT: Hey, so, itâs Halloween almostâŚwhoâd be up for a boss rush competition?
since Iâve never played a Castlevania game before LOS I cant agree or disagree that it was a bad CastlevaniaâŚbut it had a nice gothic atmosphere and was a good action/adventure game in general.
I will say that the music was meh.
it wasnât badâŚbut it wasnât memorable. Not a single song was memorable. Not a single catchy tune that got stuck in my head after playing.
as for ppsspp emulation, its been discussed before on the ppsspp forumsâŚiphones emu the psp far better than android phones.
people said it didnât even matter if their android phones had a quad core processor it still doesnât emu the psp better than the iphone5.
thatâs why when the specs for the iphone6 came out people ragged on it saying it was underpowered compared to the most recently released high end android phones but they donât seem to realize that different hardware/os makes a difference in performance. you cant compare the two.
so I believe DoctaMario when he says the ppsspp works well on his iphone.
the DS emu works fine on droid though. ppssppâŚnot so much. depends on the game. donât even bother tryin Tekken5 on ppsspp.
What pisses me off the most is that there hasnât been a 2D Castlevania on a real console since Symphony of the Night.
Everything is for handheld and those that exist are Metroidvania games which I find pretty disappointing.
Iâd really love a new oldschool hand-drawn Castlevania game on my PS3.
Kinda like Rondo of Blood, just bigger.
At this point you mean ps4/xb1 but hand drawn is costly.
I wouldnât care if itâs more cell shaded like the mof cut scenes but I would like a multi role castlevania, put in multiple playable chars and make at least one a true Belmont platformer but make it hard.
I wouldnât even care If it were similar to hod with the multiple player online experience, just make it online and hard.
I canât figure out why PPSSPP works better on my iPhone than it does on my PC.
The music in LoS isnât supposed to draw attention, itâs to accentuate the action (or lack thereof) thatâs happening. Unfortunately, they just looped stuff so in LoS1 you wind up with action music when youâre just walking around.
Um, again, youâre talking about apples to badgers. LoS probably wonât produce as much memorable music because it was supposed to be more movie-like (i.e. music is part of the experience rather than a selling point.)
And did you REALLY post that Judgment track? God, youâre gay. And I mean that in the best possible way⌠Iiiiâm just kidding. I donât really dig the Judgment OST, but if youâre going to bring up examples of better than LoS tracks, thatâs not the game to cite IMO.
I donât want a âmovie-likeâ experience⌠I want a goddamn video game. I want to hop to precariously placed platforms while asshole Medusa Heads fly about. I want to whip the shit out of classic monsters and mythological creatures while navigating the most nonsensically designed castle ever. I want daggers, holy water, cross-shaped boomerangs and meat hidden in castle walls. I want the game that made vampires and vampire hunters badasses with the most catchy stage themes this side of Mega Man.
I want CASTLEVANIA, not this bullshit weâve been getting that just uses the name. Why is this so hard?
I think the LoS dev team is done or at least had some people leave, and we know IGA is gone. If thereâs going to be a new CV game then itâll probably be made by a mostly unique dev team.
Are the guys who made Circle of the Moon/the N64 CV games still around?
I hope the series lands on its feet because Castlevania is one of my favorite video game series since I was a kid. Shit, I knew DoctaMario and Rugal before I joined SRK(they both had the same tags on a Castlevania forum I used to frequent a lot way back.)
Nobody cares, Itâs an engine change, quit fucking crying.
Jesus youâre as bad as the god hates fags people. Oh noes, scary scary change that means they are pissing on everything that came before and can never go back or make a mix of engines to create a better product.
Also for the record, LoS 1 and 2 have fantastic soundtracks that move the series in the right direction to keep the series from being mothballed like Megaman. Shut the fuck up and just wait for the next SoTN clone to hit your handheld with reused sprites and zero innovation.
Iâll happily take a progression even if it turned out mediocre.
Also before i have to hear any more whining on the subject, this is what my Castlevania music list looks like, i listen to and like them all for one reason or another.
If yours doesnât look similar, again shut the fuck up.
Donât want an SOTN clone they exhausted that formula, but 2 god of war clones was a a terrible idea for the next step in the series. Might as well play GoW or other similar gamesâŚrather than slap the Castlevania name on games that play NOTHING like previous games in the series. Iâd rather they go back to their roots and develop that, Iâm talking the old school NES, SNES games. Progression means advancing something, not abandoning everything and just doing something completely different. I mean why even call something like that Castlevania?
Why call the N64 castlevanias by that name? or the SotN and clones? If we use that logic to qualify what a castlevania is and is not, pretty much anything past CV3 isnt a castlevania and should be renamed or stricken from the minds of humanity.
the music for LOS suits the game perfectly and thatâs what a game needs , fitting music !
as much as i love previous soundtracks i canât imagine any of em being LOSâs in-game music.
Cv4? Rondo of Blood? SOTN is a progression, not that it is all good. Like the older games it is 2d action with platforming elements consisting mainly of jumping and attacking with a short range weapon(though u get many other ways of moving and attacking too), bosses are mostly pattern based. It adds an rpg style experience system (a big misstep IMO), and the metroid style explorationâŚneed x ability to unlock this area. However nonlinearity was already explored many years ago with Cv2 (can go back and forth freely), and Cv3 (branching paths).
When looking at the LoS gamesâŚremoving aesthetic similarites, gameplay wise it is nothing like the earlier 2d Castlevania games. Part of this is the move to 3d. Which is why N64 Castlevanias largely fail, though they did try to incorporate a lot more platforming (even with medusa heads trying to hit you).
Thatâs fine. Thatâs not what I want in Castlevania.
I want the Bloodlines style jumping and whipping, not God of War Jr. trying to be cinematic and âepicâ with droning orchestral pieces.
But Iâve long accepted that I am a relic of a forgotten age where all a good game needed was good gameplay, stage design, and catchy tunes⌠Didnât need Sir Patrick Stewart narrating cut scenes or KEVIN SPACEY to sell people on the game.
âŚand youâve got to be a salty ass to flag someone Off Topic for giving their OPINION on the thread subject.
