Actually I thought she was pretty good. That’s me though. Her spells really helped me out in a jam.
Charlotte’s supposed to be weak. Just keep your distance and use her spells, which are really good.
Yezzir. Btw nobody has mentioned the 3 truths?? why is that?
Richter Belmont…and yes I put him over Julius.
Soma Cruz
Simon Belmont (the ultimate badass.) Nigga had a curse put on him son. Didn’t phase him at all. whipped Dracula’s ass several times just for the hell of it.
Why is Richter over Julius? And Soma shouldn’t count. He’s like Dracula reincarnated so he’s supposed to be stupid strong. Julius is waaaaaay strong. What was it he said in DoS, talking about how he was just killing the monsters like it was nothing and Soma was like “OMG WTF?!!! DUDE!”
Sounds like PoR Maria. crouching bird owns the whole game.
IMO, it should go Soma, Leon, Richter.
Julius wasn’t half as strong as Richter was from what I could tell, but you could give that to the fact that the guy is the oldest Belmont (canonically) to traverse Drac’s castle. Mad props to him for the fact that the man is like Hogan or Flair, doing it again at his age. “One more crawl!”
Soma does count because even if he is the reincarnation of Drac, meaning he’s supposed to be hella strong, he’s only got enough control over his power to keep from snapping so long as nobody messes with his bitch.
Leon’s got my props for emotional reasons. Having to strike down your woman in order to stop what got her infected in the first place from happening to other people is rough shit. Other than that, yeah, he had skill all around.
And Richter because, well, he was effin’ Richter Belmont.
Agreed on the point about Simon, though.
I just finished PoR last week. Even though the Dark Portraits parts were just rehashes of the first ones, it’s still one of the best Castlevania games just because of it’s difficulty. I barely won my last two boss fights against Brauner and Death/Drac, and those Cave Trolls in the nest of Evil are whoopin’ my ass. Fun times.
Don’t sleep on the Johnathan x Charlotte Speed Up/Dark Rift assist.
The storyline about the Morrises makes me want to play CV: Bloodlines again and get a refresher. Besides, I miss the old school gameplay.
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence ftw (^_^)
Castlevania Dracula X is on sale at Amazon ^ $18.99
Yeah, I thought Charlotte was almost next to worthless in PoR, then my girlfriend was showing me the power of Magus Ring and Greatest Five. (this was before I had finished the quests and even heard of Nest of Evil)
Funny thing about Cave Trolls and Amduscias in PoR: they don’t seem finished. Cave Trolls will not attack until either attacked or unless you get real close, so just take it slow and bust them up with Shuriken. And Amduscias…well, he doesn’t turn around most of the time if you jump over him.
Shade’s Quick Castlevania Game Status;
-
Saved in the room right before Death’s door/boss battle in PoR, and now giving it a break. Death will get his comeuppance soon enough.
-
Started a fresh game in SotN. No real reason besides the game is the best game ever fucking made, and I love it.
-
Started new games in both N64 Castlevania’s. I’m sure I’m part of the small minority that actually dug those games. While flawed, the games were solid, and worthy of the Castlevania name, IMO. And Reinhardt and Cornell are awesome characters, as well.
You know what CV games I actually never played for whatever reasons? Circle of the Moon, and Harmony of Dissonance. I need to get on that at some point, I suppose.
Now, where the hell’s my* Vampire Killer*…
CotM is quite good. HoD is the worst Castlevania title ever made. It’s not even that good for a non-CV game.
Ouch. Not even worth a play for crappy-games sake? Maybe that’s one of the reasons I never played it. Or maybe I did, because I remember a GBA CV that had the tiniest sprites in all the world, and i t was plain retarded trying to see what was going on, on-screen. This sounds familiar to you?
That sounds like CotM to me. Damn. It was good, but shit was dark as fuck, and I was playing on a regular GBA back then. Yeah, that experience was crap.
Good game, though.
Circle of the Moon is too good. My only regret is not finishing it.
Tarzan you bastard bring me my shit back…
We’re the only ones who remember the real way to spell it. People are also spelling Richiter’s name wrong too. For shame.
Circle of the Moon had a nice soundtrack and some good degree of difficulty.
They aren’t kidding about the name, it has some real shit ass music, a real travesty for a caslevania game. That and the map layout is absolutely fucking awful. It will leave you scrathcing your head about what to do next everytime you get a new ability.
any plans on next gen castlevanias?
srsly.
