The Cartoons and Animation Thread

I don’t remember the episode. It’s been a loooooong time since Ive watched the series in entirety. I’ve been watching episodes on YT but I’m only on like episode 6. Been super busy the past few days.

I’d love to see how Max faired in the 2nd confrontation with Skull Master

I wonder when they stopped saying kill and death in toons?

Welp i know what i’m doing this week! Did they ever cover the second runback at all or we are to assume shit went down differently? Either way great series!

They left the ending ambiguous

I’d say shortly after. I mean you see it here and there but for the most part it eventually became implied for the most part in the 90s. 2000s straight up would avoid it… Dbz would say they are Goin to another dimension

Which was fucking insulting as if we didnt know what “Another Dimension” meant. I remember the Yugioh episode where they are playing a game and if you lose buzzsaws cut your ankles off…er I mean the sharp spinning buzzsaw blades send you to another dimension…god fucking dammit.

One of the things that adults do that has always and will always piss me off is acting like children are stupid. Adults are so dumb they forget what it’s like to be a child. Fucking morons.

Edit: Thinking about it a little more, this actually really pisses me off for multiple reasons. The idea kids are that fucking stupid, fucking with someone else’s art is reprehensible, honestly, but above all they are teaching children that people dont die when they die. Its fine man. Buzzsaws to the ankles won’t kill anyone. Just sends em to another dimension. Vaporizing a body doesn’t kill them! Just sends them to another dimension! They didn’t die, they just went to Disneyland!

What an irresponsible and disgustingly stupid as fuck message to send developing minds. Again I say, fucking morons.

Vegeta and Frieza were sending people to other dimensions all the time when DBZ was on Toonami

Already mentioned that

So nice had to say it twice

Gremlins coming back…

I’ve been bingeing bobs burgers the past few weeks. I’m half way through season 6 (of 9). Like the show is so consistently on point. They also show how close all the belchers are in really subtle and unique ways.

Even though the show is more or less universally praised and has a prettt good following I always feel like it’s under-appreciated. Especially with how clever it’s humor really is.

iTunes is also having a sale on cowboy bebop. The entire series for $4.99. It normally goes for $53 on iTunes. So of course I grabbed it. I just binged it recently so I doubt I’ll watch it again.

I’ll likely binge watch Star vs. The Forces of Evil next. I need to buy the final season if I do that though.

I cant seem to get into Bob Burgers. Seen a couple episodes abd it seems alright.

Part of my problem is I only hear Archer out of Bob lol.

I’ve never had this issue with H. Jon. Like, yeah the characters he voices all sound the same but he puts enough cadence into each where they feel like a different character to me.

With Coach McGuirk it was a very slacker, arrogant tone. With Archer it’s much more abrasive, in your face, heavily sarcastic and usually louder tone. With Bob it’s a much more down to earth, softer, sympathetic and socially awkward tone.

Ended up picking up Season 10 of Archer on iTunes. It’s $10 right now (normally $20) for some reason. Maybe cause it hasn’t been getting the best reviews? I don’t know. I just feel it’s weird the newest season of something being discounted when the entire season hasn’t even aired yet.

Yeah I think I was the only person on my feed excited for it. I think this may be the last season

It’s not exactly the last season. They just “don’t know the future of the show”. Mainly because It’s the last season where Adam Reed is going to be involved with. He’s been pretty vocal about wanting to end the series after season 10. It’d be fucked up if they kept going without him.

Had no idea the Kingpin was voiced by a black actor…

Yea the showrunner (John Semper Jr) was black . He wanted Blade on the show bc he thought it would be good exposure for a cool black character.

When you think about it, that show was like a mini MCU with all the guest stars (Blade, X-men, Dr. Strange, FF, Daredevil, Punisher, Nick Fury, Iron Man, WM)
The final story was like a spiritual precursor to Spider-verse.
