You’ve been chanting about the TL and I think it wa a 5 series for a few years now, Camry is a hard departure from that. ot knocking the cars, just not at all anything like you’ve talked about in the past. It would be like me scooping a F150 after all my Infiniti talk heh.
How strong an illusion would be created if you simply loosed the screws and stuff so your windows/dashboard shake from your stock sound system?
Seems to me like it could be pretty cost effective.
It’s pretty thick wire. I think 4 guage. I would like to keep the existing amp is possible though since it’s already all wired up and I got it at a good price.
I had JL in my first car, bass was nice and warm. I’m open to other options though.
i have a JL 12w7 with a JL 1000/1 in a custom trunk setup… thats been in my room for like 2.5 years. my car has just been so fucked up that i never installed the shit. blah. i should sell the shit
No, there was no knock against the car, was just saying the switch in ‘next car’ preference was a sharp departure from what he had been discussing before.
Ace - you sure about swapping stuff out on the new Camrys? I thought everythign was integrated with them now so you’d have to mount elsewhere. I miss my 98 Camry (still wish it was a 99 Camry though)
elitericerocket - is that 500W @ 4 ohms RMS/Continous or Max? Is that Civic model the hatchback?
TheSix - whats insufficient about your current setup? Figure that about 1/3 of your budget will go to installation, and another 1/4 will go towards random ass parts like harnesses/cables/etc. Let us know what you want to improve and we can cook something up.
Yes, its a double din touch screen in them already. You can take it out and add one of the “hook the steering wheel controls to the new HU thingys” and your set (like Marcus did). Same with the element. (Leaning more towards the Element cause I have like 5-6 DJ gigs already…getting the speakers in the tC isn’t going to work AT ALL) Plus I can put 20’s on the Element…
You can put 20s on a Camry also, but your looking at riding on a rubberband…I’ve seen it lol. No xB? Better milage than both Camry/Eleemnt, has the room of the Element, etc.
No matter how its cut I have zero clue on my next mode of transportation. All the vehicles I like right now are basically the same as my current car, no point in owning two cars that are just a like. So there will be no FX35/45, Rubicon or M-Class (yes I don’t like Benz, but the M-Class does have a little soul compared to the rest of the lifeless bunch). Besides I got other fish to fry…I’m still trying to plug money into this whip and I’m starting the housing process (I’ve been working with the same budget for over a year now for one, just been trying to clear credit).
Well GL w/ a new whip, now’s a good time to go hunting.
-:bluu:
xB has less room than the element actually (by a couple cu. ft). Camry will be the leather wrapped, draped up, pimped out car…whenever I get it.
Trying to make a Entertainment company so I can write off some of the expense of the second car, (gas going to and from venues and what not). New car right now is a pipe dream as well, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The tC is payed off so I have extra 300 bucks coming in that can go into savings for the new car. If DJ’ing is what I expect it to be, thats money under the table that isn’t taxed, which goes into my pocket.
Wouldn’t you want it taxed though if your doing an entertainment company? I know hair dressers can get REAL screwed doing that.
Couple cu feet is somethign to sneeze at, but it was just an idea from a $$$ stand point. I still want a Honda Odessy all grey sitting on 20s with chrome trim. No point in it though, money would be better spent on tools so I can work faster.
Depends on how much I can get out of it. As for the tax thing…corporate parties will be on my taxes…if someone pays under the table…well…then…you know:wink:
Remember, my accountant can hide that :arazz:
Don’t know between the Element and the xB; I feel the Element can do more dirty work than the xB; but its a 7G difference. Plus, I can probably get some kind of deal seeing I own a tC or something
I dunno was just food for thought, they both have similar builds, though the Element has a ‘taller’ stance and is in general a BIGGER vehicle. The xB is a marvel for how much room is available in such a small ass car, its tiny, but spacious. And the xB is cheap with good mileage. Not sure how heavy your gear is though, if its real heavy (specifically the drivers), then you may want the extra power provided by the Element.
Yea! LOL, I don’t have the money for that (DJ Equipment ALONE was probably 10Gs) LOL
Unreal: Element and xB are almost the same car, one BIG advantage is that the Element doesn’t have a B-Pillar; its also bigger (slightly) than the xB. The engines are mostly the same (both have ~160 HP) I might go by the stealship this weekend so see the element in person (seen MANY xBs)
The element is only 160 HP ?_? Are you serious? Wow…thats weak sauce for small SUV. The xB is a mileage whip so its understandable, I envision it as a 3-cylinder Geo-metro sized SUV with Toyota quality heh. I guess they are trying to shrink the element into xB ‘category’, cause the xB is tiny.
While that xB is a bit overkill, the concept of playing from the vehicle shouldn’t be. If you find business is doing well, it may benefit you to dress-up the vehicle with a ‘public audio’ system. And no it doesn’t need to cost an arm and leg, simply out firing speakers which can be thrown on a switch to go from the standard system to the current system, power upgrades, and you’d be good. You can stand/sit outside of the whip with a set of shielded RCAs going to the input of the head-unit.
Element SC has 166hp. The 1st gen xBs have the old 1.5L/103HP engine that was in the old Toyota Echo. Second gen xBs are the 2.4L/160HP motors that are in the tCs/Camrys.
