About the practice mode cheat to have hitboxes visible you need to have the cheat on before a match, but it will not give you the correct damage scaling. To get correct damage scaling you need to activate during a match, but you will not get hitboxes. Also, do not activate practice mode cheat during the Neo Geo start up as it will instantly lock up the game.

I’m contemplating is Allison really bottom tier. I think Allison is actually way underrated. Like for starters allsion has solid option that just require commitment. Many of his tools are written off as gimmicks but once learned how to effectively use them, their really not gimmicks. For starter the srk wiki write off his C+D as worthless as an overhead options, but fails to mention it can be use as an anti air. Barely mention Knee rush usage outside of combosBut here are king things allsion player should know.

*All of allision actions besides jumps and 4B build meters, this includes his dash and light attack whiffs.

  • Allision excel with his normals attacks, while all have plethoral of usage

One thing that mandatory for Allison players to know is that Allison needs to kara cancel a lot of his stuff to maximize his advantages. Kara cancel helps with his combo ability, option select, and meter building which is all vital.

Started to play this damn game again semi-seriously because I hate myself…

Anyhow, while the tiers seem to have been already somewhat established, I still think there’s a lot to learn about specific match ups and overall gameplay. Each time I run through a session (via GGPO), I find myself picking up on many new and interesting strats, techniques, tactics, tidbits, you name it.

That being said, I’d like to run a Breakers Revenge GGPO tourney for lulz to examine and witness the extent of gameplay in a slightly more competitive environment. For now I’d like to keep it region-locked to US-players-only in attempt to generate a bit more interest in the game “locally” and if the results are consistent we could just expand to international from there.

…Or if you just want to get in some casual sets, that’s cool too lol

Also, I’m really interested in the BR damage system and was wondering if you cracked out any info on that when you were tinkering with the game.

There seems to be two factors that influence damage: Timer: As time progresses without any damage being dealt (excluding chip), a damage modifier increases the total damage for the next hit according to how much time has passed. It becomes easily noticeable when observing in 5 second increments, with 20 timer seconds being the damage cap (dealing nearly DOUBLE DAMAGE). Was wondering if you could provide estimates of damage values for each passing second (if possible), the damage cap, and whether or not the game is counting real seconds or is using the in-game timer (which can be sped up or slowed in dip options)

Red life: Not 100% sure on this but I think the red life acts as a “rage mode” and adds in a damage mod as well. I’ll do my low-tier testing and observations a bit later to confirm.

Any info you would have on the above would be appreciated!

Ok, ran some quick tests:

Red life appears to give slight damage boost.

The timer damage mod is hilarious.

  • You lose the boost if you throw
  • The bonus isn’t added on to normal throws
  • CHIP DAMAGE IS BOOSTED until next successful hit/throw

I haven’t did any hacking on this in forever. The training mode was me just figuring out what the debug dip switches did in the memory. Problem with them in this game were you had to have them activated before the game booted up.

Damage scaling is a weird, but mainly there is some many variables when it comes to it.

Oh, I also had a question about stun values too. Saizo seems to stun characters with little effort. Wondering if characters have different life/stun points and if Saizo does beefy stun in general.

Also, GGPO is a riot. Too many people trying to bulldog their way in and the seasoned players appear once in a blue…

Like I said I haven’t looked into the game ever since I got the hitboxes to show up. Everyone’s life is the same but there can be a defense modifier like in Vsav. If that’s true then why the fuck should we care about the finding the damage.

As for stun I can look into real quick as it’ll be nice to look into something that isn’t Capcom for the first time in forever.

In other news, BR has “stun protection” (not sure what the official term is), where it becomes harder to stun the opponent after each successful stun. I recall CVS2 having this and I’m sure there are some other fgs with such a feature (but I wouldn’t know because I only play poverty =p)

This is interesting I can’t find the actual values, but I found a little more info on it.
[S]After a few dizzies it makes impossible to dizzy again I don’t know the numbers, or if it resets after a round but there is a prevention to keep your opponent from being too free type of deal here.[/S]
Also, in A3 and CvS2, maybe marvel. There was no limit just kept requiring more stun damage.

Finally found it values are huge in this game.
Life is 7680
Stun is another huge value that increase by 2048 after each stun.
Saizo’s initial stun bar is 4096
Just for scale, at full life and a max timer Condor’s Forward C does 512 of stun damage.

Well damn, you pretty much hacked up a near-complete training mode lol. You start throwing in auto, fixed position, and random guarding features I may have to flip my shit with a spatula.

Can’t wait to try this out because Saizo stun damage is pretty OD compared to the rest of the cast and it’ll be nice to see why. Good work and thx again!

Also got in a couple of fantastic match sets yesterday. One crazy aggro US Dao player who NEVER JUMPED and a Brazilian Saizo who completely handed me my ass with a side order of fries. Was definitely worth idling in the room for a few hours to play those guys. This game is starting to become a problem lol.

Should do a search on youtube for other breakers combo vids. A lot of pretty crazy stuff out there. Some of the combos showcased are “breakerable” or whatever but you could always just omit/refine those for practical use.<br><blockquote class=“Quote”>

Ok, so apparently I’m too dumb to use this. All of my roms read perfectly fine in FBA but when using FBA-RR I can only get the emu to read the Capcom games (and yes, I have the Neo-Geo box checked [and yes, capcom illuminati Kappa]).<br><br>On another note, it kind of sucks that the Breakers Revenge wiki was removed. Have quite a bit of <strike>new</strike> interesting tech I would’ve added in.<br><br>Also, I’ll be on GGPO for games most of this weekend if anyone is interested. Don’t know what’s up with Supercade though, can never get games there/far few players actually play there.<br>

Gonna say some thing basic did you put in the Neo Geo Bios?<div><br>But, There was a redump of Breakers Revenge and the Neo Geo Bios too after the version of FBA GGPO uses too so that can cause problems (It was to seperate it from being linked to the original Breakers Rom).<div><br></div><div>Redumps of boards are done to get all the data possible from the game in order to get more accurate emulation and make it easier to fix your games.</div></div>
