The Boxing Thread

Manny would have won 6 years ago

This will not be easy for mayweather, but it will look like it in the later rounds

Been using this for years, good mobile app too so handy for putting a punt on the UFC or whatever if your watching shit in a bar.

Heā€™s fighting an undefeated boxer with a few fights. All of Klitzchoā€™s fights are against people that have earned their spot, there just hasnā€™t been a champion to beat him. Klitzcho is REALLY impressive. The dude takes punches like no ones business, hits ridiculously hard as well. Watching how helpless he makes his opponent look is why I like him. Heā€™s a boxing god physically.

Arreola shouldā€™ve never been in the ring with Klitschko, same goes for Haye and that Aussie plumber that he fought. Mind you that these are just names that Iā€™m pulling off the top and I donā€™t even follow heavyweights that much.

Iā€™m not knocking Klitschko for who his opponents are, but heā€™s cleaned out the division and thereā€™s nobody for him to fight worth a damn.

Thanks fam. Have you ever had issues with them? I just googled and their reputation seems to be somewhat mixed. Also, are you in the U.S.?

I was thinking online.

I think he is a great boxer, but I think I can say with great confidence that Sugar Ray Prime>>>>>Floyd Jr. Prime pretty easily. Sugar Ray Prime was just too fast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwbfUuEI5Ow

Here is Sugar Ray whupping Floyd Sr like itā€™s his job.

OK so after further research, Bovada and 5Dime seem to be the go-to sites in the United States. Does anybody happen to know if these websites also have membership fees on top of payout fees?

I always liked Sugar Ray (even though I think he lost against Hearns). But yeah he made Floyd Sr look like a clown. Mayweather is an amazing boxer no question. I just think he is just feelin himself is all.

when youā€™ve been at the top for this longā€¦its hard not to.

The plumber he fought beat Boytsov who was at the time 33 - 0 undefeated and is still a major threat in Russian heavy weight boxing. He got the fight against him after cleaning out a number of internationals that have made the pro level. Thatā€™s what I mean, while he found he way against Wlad in an upset, he still earned his spot. Wlad doesnā€™t get matched against punching bags intentionally to make his record look good, he just makes everyone look like a punching bag because he IS that good.

Didnā€™t know Spike was showing boxing tonight. I guess I have something to watch now.

Damn, Dirrell is killin me with all this holding. Happy the ref checked him about it.

Jack came out on top because of the pressure and fundamenrals

Dirrell was coasting for 5 rounds for no real reason

Jimmy Smith=best announcer and post match interviewer in combat sports

Fuck larry merchant

Agree. I was wondering why Dirrell was just holding and not using his jab like at all. Jack started to see it and stuck with the basics. Wasnā€™t like the hypest fight, but the intros reminded me kind of if WWE did boxing intros, lol.

I always hated the way larry merchant would pause at random moments while talking trying to force dramatic effect.

Props to Jennings for really trying to open up Klitschko.

Jennings did well to trade shots with Wladimir for 12 rounds.

Canā€™t believe heā€™s only been boxing for 6 years.

Dudes chin is on point. He took some hard right straights.

Was a Klitchko fight finally worth watching? No disrespect to the dude for beating whoā€™s in front of him, but it gets a little boring.

Not worth watching imo. I think Wlad did what he usually does, is jab to death and hold. He actually got deducted a point for holding so much. I give Jennings props though for really trying to break into Wladā€™s defense. I think if he was a lot more aggressive throughout the fight, he would see that Wlad barely used his right the entire fight. Basically jab city.
