The Boxing Thread

It looked like maidana had a lot less energy and desperation that he brought to the first fight. This guy actually tried to box with mayweather, which is a terrible idea. He made 4.3 milliin in two fights, had the biggest year of his career. I enjoyed him on all access for both fights, a humble family man. At the end of the day skills pay the bills. I wonder if pac man would fight marcos at 147.

I think Pac is going to retire after his upcoming fight, which no one will watch.

Wut

Idk about you but im def gonna watch it

If pac wins he won’t retire. I just wanna see him fight a tough non arum fighter for once. broner, alvaez , maidana

You gonna be waiting a while for that. You get what you get when Bob Arum is involved.

Well, doesn’t look like floyd will ever fight Pacman

That old snake is still standing between them.

That really sucks I wanted to see him get knocked well marquez did that but I wanted my man money Mayweather to do it!

Mayweather won’t knock him out. There is no need to. He will just put Manny in the same pool as everyone else that he has fought. He will simply out box him. Manny is way too resilient and powerful. But Manny’s tenacity and resiliency is also his downfall. Floyd will just out box the mess out of him.

Manny is the dude though. And that ko he received at the hands of Marquez was just a perfectly timed counter, nothing anyone could do about that… Just a perfect counter. Honestly, I hated how cats tried to shit on Manny afterward.

Mayweather looked slower at times to me in the rematch than he did in the first fight. Might not mean anything because he still has a chin, but if I was Amir Khan, I would be staking all of my hopes on that.

I think that counter was Manny’s fault. He should of just stayed back and let the 6th round end because if it did end, I think they would of stopped the match due to Marquez’ broken nose. KO is a KO though, no matter what people say.

As I said, Manny’s resiliency is his downfall. Dude doesn’t know how to hang back.

Apparently, Floyd might be changing his mind and may be open to a fight with the Pac-Man. Unfortunately, he waited too late (and if you add Bob Arum into the mix) to go for this fight and make it happen. Even though they’re both older men in the fight game, I’d still love to see that go down, but I would’ve rather see them get it on while they were in their prime.

not falling for this shit again

gonna try and watch some of these later.

Floyd already tainted his legacy with the whole avoid fighting Manny thing. Cowardice isn’t an endearing quality in what is amongst the manliest of sports. When looking at legacies it isn’t just the record but the competition that the boxer defeated.

Rocky Marciano was undefeated, but he didn’t knock out anyone of significance other than a middle aged Joe Louis. Tyson of the 80s was the baddest man on the planet, but again who did he beat? Floyd is facing the same problem except a lot worse, cause he has avoided the tough competition rather than there not being any. I doubt he would take on Gennady Golovkin either, (Gennady said he wanted to face Floyd at Floyd’s weight class).

He said he would fight him in 2009, five years ago…

Yeah…if he was subject to olympic style drug testing.

Mayweather is like Magnus Carlsen in the boxing world, he will out box you just like Magnus Carlsen will out play you!

It’s one excuse, then the general response “Yeah, alright…” then another excuse then another excuse then another… He just doesn’t want to do it.

I used to think Floyd was scared of Manny, but now not so much. I am a huge Paq fan, but I have a feeling that Floyd would simply out box Manny. Seeing as how Floyd is all about the money. He has to know that this would be his biggest pay day ever. So to simply not fight Manny is funny. But real talk Floyd won’t go down as one of the greats. He may go down as one of the great technical boxers, because lets face it his skill and boxing iq is SS tier.
