See, that’s just stupid bullshit. Conor was beat. Making him go another 8 minutes of no defense could’ve gotten him killed. He hadn’t even thrown a punch that entire round.
meh. dude took floyd to 10 rounds…most likely floyd was lowering that power level like a gawd damn dbz character. but he got hit with real shit…its not that shitty.
It pretty much went just as expected, and after reading the incessant and obnoxious comments from McGregor nuthuggers who were swallowing the promo-hype spiel Conor was spewing, I’m actually glad Floyd dissected him the way he did. Mayweather had **ZERO **worries and just followed the script. I thought Floyd was going to fall off script once Conor started throwing rabbit punching and hammerfists, but he kept his cool like a pro.
But on the real, can we just give a nod of acknowledgment to Floyd’s physique. The dude boxed 10 rounds and barely broke a sweat. Meanwhile Conor was on his lifeline by round 4. At 40 that’s pretty otherworldly, his athleticism would be impressive for someone half his age let alone 40. Canelo was 23 when Floyd faced him and he made it like Canelo was moving in slow motion. Premo genetics.
I seriously need to peep at his cardio regime because it must be intense.
Safe to say Mayweather has never had an entertaining fight in his career. I wonder if the cost of breaking the backdoor contract is many times more expensive than the purse for losing in the long run? The Irishman was damn near dancing at the end, it was almost like he could smell those crisp bills coming to him.
Yup… Told you guys weeks ago that McGregor will lose. It’s just like CM Punk trying to do MMA.
A better analogy is a basketball player trying to play soccer or a ice hockey player trying to play football or an exclusive Tekken player trying to play Street Fighter, I can go on and on.
In other words, if Floyd would fight in the UFC then Floyd doesn’t have chance either…
This was literally the worst version of Floyd I’ve ever seen, obviously because he’s clearly passed his prime but he still won by stoppage, despite not coming close to stopping anyone his fought for years now, and people were saying that Connor was doing better than Manny in this fight simply because Floyd paced himself in the earlier rounds. I only thought Connor had a chance because of Floyd’s age and inactivity in the ring.
The only thing that surprised me was Floyd not respecting Connor’s power and intentionally walking him down to land punches. Most of us were aware that he hits harder than Connor despite being light fisted for a boxer and Connor being heavy handed in MMA but I didn’t expect Floyd to fight the way he did. If Connor fought the version of Floyd that beat Diego Corrales this fight would have not lasted more than 2 rounds.
He wouldn’t get killed. This is just the same when Pac fought Hatton and got dropped before the KO or in his recent fight against Horn around round 9… why didn’t they stop the fight during those two times? Lets see if he can survive that round with out getting KO’d and when he gets KO’d that would be a sweet thing to watch. Conor wasn’t bleeding and didn’t hit the floor yet, so why the moment Conor is getting owned up in a round the fight gets stopped, the fuck is that?
It’s like “Yo ref, stop the fight the moment i manage to get him… it’s round 10… and I am losing at points”.
Huh wtf are you talking about he is nothing like CM Punk. McGregor has a boxing background, he did a great job better than a lot of pro boxers have done against Mayweather. It took 10 rounds to TKO an amateur in his first pro fight against the GOAT. Update Conor made 111 significant strikes in 10 rounds remember when folks were saying he wouldn’t be able to land one. https://www.instagram.com/p/BYSYFsFBhy8/
He also out did Canelo and De La Hoya.
You should be praising Conor for lasting as long as he did, his only fault was punching himself out. This performance has opened up even more options for him now, he could go into pro boxing if he wanted and make even more cheese.
Good stoppage by the ref, Conor wanted to go out like a warrior but there’s no sense in getting KO’d like that, he went way beyond expectations.
IMO this is a win win for both sports, it wasn’t the freak show people expected, Conor was legit. Hell would have opened up under Vegas and swallowed it whole if McGregor KO’d Mayweather
Can’t remember the last time Mayweather scraped like that.
Yo Mayweather turning up with the balaclava was pretty distasteful
