I mean, they’re focusing on McGregor saying shit that is not racist at all. If they’re going to be all butthurt about everything, might as well be consistent. That’s asking a lot though.
lol conor just was like…oh hes a boy and im half black…from the waist down. lmfao. this is what happens when two heels meet up. they just try to out heel eachother.
lots of white people identify as irish-american, and have strong emotions towards the culture. If he didnt strut around with the irish flag, there would be far less interest imo. Not saying there arent some racists who just want him to win, but the attitudes of irish americans towards irishness is very consistent and has always been in america
as someone who lives in boston while a lot of people identify with their irish roots here. its true in general irish americans go hard for their culture. basically look to any city with a st.patricks day parade of any notable size.
Floyd Mayweather embodies the corruption of the sport. I recall the cotto fight in where round by round you can see that Mayweather’s face was more damaged than Cotto’s yet Cotto still loses. I’ve seen Cotto through out more combinations and made Floyd’s face all swell up and ran like a kitchen. But hey, Mayweather fans will go:“But Floyd hit him with more effective shots, he was just playing defensive”. Effective shots? So lets say in a sparring match, my opponent manages to blister my face regardless of punching/landing “less” than me do i still win because i landed 1-4 more punches that didn’t even scratch the guy? If that is boxing to you, then you are an idiot. It’s like swimming is more of a dangerous sport than boxing.
Same thing against Maidana when the only guy who had blood (not much but you could see a stream of blood coming out of his lip) was the guy who won. Floyd has corrupted the sport and made rules that only apply to his matches. You’ll never see anybody fight like DLH during the trinidad fight and managed to win the match other than Floyd in vegas. His matches are not just bullshit but are far more boring than watching old people playing checkers at union square, and what is worse is that he bore a generation of dumb fans who hail this scammer and think his one shot and run tactics is “sweet science”. Seriously Fuck him and his $100+ joke ppv’s.
People don’t talk about this much because it’s pre-De La Hoya, which was Floyd’s big coming out, but one of the hardest fights he’s ever fought was Emmanuel Augustus.
One of the reasons Emmanuel Augustus gave him a hard time is no one knew what the fuck that guy was going to do. He had this insane style that made no sense.
The reason I’m bringing this up, other than being old, is no boxing pundit really knows what Conor will do in a boxing match and if they don’t know neither does Floyd.
