Not a boxer but Iâve been jump roping for exercise recently. I usually feel foot pain on the balls of my feet after jumping around 100 repitions. I jump on concrete and have shoes with good cushioning. Should I quit jumping rope, try at jumping at a gym, or just take a break to heal my feet and come back?
How high do you jump? When you get good at skipping your feet should barely even leave the ground. A lot depends on your technique. If you jump with your feet together you use up more energy than if you were to jump rope as if you are just running in place. It definitely helps the joints if you do it on a softer surface than concrete, but it shouldnât be hurting you badly enough to the point thatâs itâs any more uncomfortable than just doing some regular exercise. 100 reps is probably roughly 3 minutes of jumping for me.
Yeah once your technique improves youâll be doing all kinds of crazy stuff(If you arenât already) to make the workout tougher. I can do double-unders, triple-unders, crosses, double-under crosses, and I can do breaks. With jump rope the fun thing is that you donât have to actually have the rope in your hand to practice. How you normally run in place is the exact same as when you are skipping rope, and itâs the same for the other tricks. Run in place faster, the rope should move faster. Itâs just timing and knowing when to load up on your jump for some of the more advanced tricks like doubles, and double-under crosses.
I saw it. Vargez should of just ran the whole fight. I didnât get why he just tried to wait for an opening. He was throwing the same number of punches (maybe a bit more) than Pacâs last opponent 2 fights ago⌠he should of just clinched to shift the positioning, hit once and run through out the whole round. Why bother boxing when you donât need to? Was that tactic only allowed when Pac was there during May 2015?
