I just can’t agree with the scoring. Many people claim Pac was a close fight but consider this lop sided, but in my eyes i saw this to be allot closer than the Pacquiao fight. Berto was simply the engager, you can make the claim he did not land the cleaner face shots but mayweather’s punch stats in total are not enough to just simply give him those rounds. What the hell happened to boxing? Since when can you just win with a lower punch count, since when does dodging matter more than the amount of punches? I’m sorry but i don’t understand how Berto’s point record is that low.

Berto fought the fight that we expected Pacquiao to fight. He was putting pressure on Floyd pretty much the whole fight, but pressure doesn’t matter if you’re not landing punches.
Tyson was dominant for like 4 years, Floyd has been doing it for 19. In this era the only fighter that’s been anywhere near as dominant is Wlad Klitschko.
Ya, thats whats always so confusing to me. Its like, you cant out technical mayweather. Your best bet is to just go full retard, and hope you dont take one to the chin. For those a little more reformed, you need to keep proper spacing to avoid the clutch when mays against the ropes, and use your jab as a feeler, and not something your trying to win off of. You need to get creative with your combinations, not just derp your combinations until you get a lucky hit.
In this fight, like clockwork, may knew all this dudes shitty combinations, and would just tie him up when he had his back on the ropes no problem. Not one time did bertho back off to avoid the clutch, while also maintaining his position with just light feeler jabs, to look for the gap, or to see if floyd would crack, swing on something dumb, and then hit him with the upper or the hook.
In round 2 they said, this guys basically throwing his jabs out there like its the end of the world, and he needs to be using them more effectively.
You need legit skill, and creativity to beat may. A lot of these boxer are so linear, its amazing they even got as far as they did. They got that far because in boxing matches outside of Mayweathers, it is the aggressor/engager that wins. You guys are that new school to think that landing clean shots to the face means something landed. It’s like you think a guy can throw out 10+ punches to the other parts of the body, keep on going in, and still lose to a guy who managed to hit him in the face 5x only in the round. That’s is ridiculous. It saddens me how mayweather fans think that whole shit he does is technical fighting, it isn’t. In actual boxing, fighting the way mayweather does is not defensive fighting because you are giving the opponent points on the aggression. You can’t just rope dope, run around, and not engage/commit at all in the entire fight. How the fuck can you guys consider yourselves actual/intelligent boxing fans when you can’t see that mayweather fights are the only fights where passiveness and non-aggression can win fights. Aggression loses to a few clean shots (yes, it is a few because he does not commit), since when does landing punches to other parts of the body not count as landed shots?

He’s a great boxer, certainly one of the greatest of our generation and he’ll point at his record all he wants but the fact is Willie Pep was 62 - 0 before he took a loss and 134 - 1 at one stage. He won 229 times for 11 losses. No modern boxer will ever be on that kind of level. You can say it’s because athletes are more conditioned now but the sport was far rougher back then and with fights every week or two you carried injuries into bouts, you didn’t postpone them or dodge guys until the fight was clearly in your favour.
2001-2003 Barry Bonds is the most dominant performance by any athlete in any sport ever.
