I basically talk to folks on here and two friends who box and do martial arts irl. Like my wife doesn’t like mma because of the whole grappling on the ground seems odd to her. But when I explained it to her she had a better understanding as to what they are doing and the technical aspect of it.
The same for boxing. When I explained to her about clinching and what not in boxing she had a better understanding.
I don’t mind my wife asking me what is going on because she is actually trying to understand. But I’ve had friends ask me what’s going on just to make fun.
Funny thing is that my wife sees me get the most emotional over pro wrestling. I explain it to her like its a real sport. But she thinks it’s funny how emotional I get over wrestling.
Now that I think of it I even follow collegiate/Olympic wrestling and weightlifting to an extent. Just wish I could get streams for them. And boxing I try to follow as much as I can but it can be difficult at times.

A ref’s number one priority is enforcing the rules. Like not allowing excessive clinching. A boxer can runaway all he wants, but abusing the clinch isn’t boxing. Yet the refs let it go frequently in modern times.

its been like that for a while. One thing I like about UFC is that if you are the champ then you have to fight the best in your division. Boxing is very crooked and really doesn’t have anything in play to combat that.
