The Bloody Roar Thread!

[mode=Shenlong]Die…NOW![/Shenlong]

ur a dick head! I don’t think anybody wanted to even use Bakuryu the mole character when he wan an old man. Bakuryu is my favorite character in the game but only became that way when I played Primal Fury on GC. After Primal Fury the series seemed to crash, but that is only becuase they didn’t change enough about BR4 to make it different from the others. AND SINCE WHEN DID BAKURYU become YOUR “mole ninja character” ur a nobody! You talkin about all the sequals to bloody roar like they were that bad but 1-3 were actually good games. I don’t think br2 was lame as a a matter of fact i thought i was better then Tekken2!
The only good character was the bug guy?? c’mon now!!! U KNOW WAT JUSS KILL URSELF!!!

So for us to be “really fighting game players” we must have the same taste you do? BR2 is fun, for me. Quit bitching and acting like you know shit from shit. Oh, and my dad can beat up your dad too…

LMFAO!!

WAIT I WAS JUSS PLAYIN BR4…IT’S NOT THAT BAD MAN. THAT STUPID RYUHO GUY SUCKS BUT THE GAME IS PRETTY GOOD. It’s not that good for a sequal but it’s good nonetheless!

Ryuho and Mana are pretty damn vicious, if you ask me…I’m trying to remember but I think there’s like two different versions of Ryuho and the Dragon one is pretty fucking broken. And the air combos you can pull off with Reiji are just ridiculous. BR4 is kind of a nice addition but hopefully BR5 won’t be half as broken as far as play mechanics go. I’ll stick to BRE until then…

Your right Reiji is cool and can do alot of air combos but as far as ryuho and mana go they fuckin suck! He is a diesel ass bald dude running around wit a lil girl who turns into a puppy (ninetail)

I liked the first 3 games, but then the whole series went more and more crazy with designs and all that power level stuff. Anyway, from time to time it’s nice to have some good old Long vs anyone.^^

3 is worht it just for s long and the best super ever made in any game

Alright, anyone play the import version of 2? To be more specific BR2 ver.2 (I’m not really even sure if there’s a ver.1 or whatever I just thought it was worth mentioning cuz that’s what it sez on the CD of my import copy). Anyways, when BR2 came out in US I played it, seemed cool so I got the import version a little later. Now what I distinctly remember is that when playing the U.S BR2 you could side step freely by pressing one of the L’s or R’s, but in the import that I got u couldn’t ss freely. The only way you would be able to ss is by tappin twice really fast during a nuetral guard, IMO I thought this was kinda cooler (tho I’m pretty sure that if it was changed in the U.S release there was sumthin broke about it.) Anyways, just wanted to kno if anyone played BR2 ver.2 and is there any other import ver. of BR2?

btw, If anyone has some vids of high level play, post em up plz. I’ve never seen high level play b4, no hate, just curious.

man forget all that! people are hatin on BR for the things that make it special! It has excellent graphics for a game with transformations and shit! The blood shed is a little unrealistic but alot of game are like that on that aspect! The boss sucks but alot of bosses do! Nagi the new main character is cool! The game is a little repetative but wat fighting game isn’t! the 4th one actually has a carrer mode so u can earn every thing instead of the regular way, beating arcade mode with every character! DOA and BR are better than VF in my point of view! SLOW ASS GAME! never better than Tekken though! Namco is a veteran company tho!

Yes.
My friend bought part 4 for the hell of it because I said I used to like the BR series. I don’t think he heard the “used to” part because when I said that I ment only part 1 and 2.

BR4 is shitty, the format for your life and shit is just plain stupid. There really is no draw back in turning into the beast and the whole “dodging” attack system seems alot better than actual blocking because of the fact that you aviod chipp damage and you can dodge unblockable specials (if there is any, I could be wrong about that). Not only that but it seems to have no downfall as well.

I played BR3 but I don’t remember much about it.

btw, If anyone has some vids of high level play, post em up plz. I’ve never seen high level play b4, no hate, just curious.

I second that.

If you wanna see some High level BR2 and 3 play, I can record some matches of CX and I…We really took that game to a new level and found out some dope shit…

Man BR4 is only shitty when played alone! The career mode is fairly easy but I think it’s better that they made it the way you gain ur new attributes and stuff! This has more new secrets then anyother bloody roar and u can customize your characters! when you play by urself the games not all that cool but with friends it’s fun! I wonder If anyone realizes that the Bloody Roar series is the only true 3-d fighter with Super combos!

Hopefully people aren’t going to boycott BR5 becuase the 4th one was shitty! I believe Konami can make it better…i mean they made fuckin metal gear solid!

does everyone really hate BR THIS BAD…i mean shit!

One thing bothers me about this series: ever since the Gamecube version, we’ve been getting what feels like unfinished betas, while Japan gets a WAY more complete game later. That shit ain’t right. Japan’s supposed to get the games first, then they come here later. That’s the way it’s always been. Bloody Roar Extreme for japanese Gamecube had a LOT more stuff: dubbing on the endings, a different physics engine, and Fang. Bloody Roar 4…feels like a fuckin’ 10 percent complete beta, with stages that actually slow down, shadows that almost don’t track properly (check out any stage where you can see your shadow: it tracks you, but looks choppy and unnatural). I’m sure Japan got a MUCH better game.

that really sucks…i like BR I hope it doesn’t turn into Mortal Kombat or a handful of other fighter’s that dissapeared or ill dissapear soon

Thought I’d try out some tiers, at least for BR:E/Primal Fury.

God / High:
Uranus: for obvious reasons. The throwing infinites, the fact that the power and speed of her beast form is pretty much unmatched ( except for Cronos’s Phoenix ), and the most vicious rushdown in the game.

Cronos: for similar reasons. The penguin’s just plain annoying and despite what you would think has amazing combo ability. And the fact that you can just keep busting out the Hyper Beast at the low, low price of about twenty percent of your lifebar and then go into INSANE strings ( P,P,P,QCF+P, tap B, B,B, DP+B comes to mind ) that do insane damage for almost free…ugh. And there’s the fact that he’s got a kick counter for almost everything and more air recovery options than just about anyone except for maybe Alice, a throw he can combo from…

High to Mid:

Long / Shenlong: yeah, I know they play differently this time around but still, the Golden Mill move circle stuff pretty much guarantees that experienced players can just use the circle of moves to run all over players who won’t see the next move coming until it’s all over. Plus the QCBx2+B Beast Drive, Ferocious Tiger Laceration, gets a crapload of invincibility frames as far as I can tell, against most attacks anyways.

Ganesha and Stun: Yes, YES, Ganesha and Stun. Why? Because they have throw chains that can take you out of damn near ANYTHING, that’s why.

Gado: Because his damage ratio is RIDICULOUS. Especially in Hyper Beast, which allows him to chain some stuff together he normally wouldn’t be able to ( same with Stun ). Combo into a Beast Drive and watch their lifebar diminish…

Mid:
Uriko: her Golden Mill style circle isn’t quite as unpredictable as Long / Shenlong’s even though it still deserves special mention. Aside from that though she has a great rushdown, but up against the big dogs she falters.

Sheena: Her counter hold is just plain nasty, and when you take that into account along with her counter super, it makes rushing her down a royal pain.

Busuzima: Nastiest trick: going invisible and giving the other person the shivers by striking with the most unexpected chain you can think of.

Jenny: What makes her especially effective is her Twist Heel series, kind of reminiscent of Hwoarang’s Flamingo in Tekken. Mixups with these make for good confusion, not as good as Uriko/Long/Shen, but still has good potential.

Alice: The good thing about her is that most of her chains go low, which can be ANNOYING AS HELL. Unless the other player learns to block low and punish or stick to the air ( which not a great deal of characters benefit from ), Alice can set up a great pestering game.

Bakuryu / Kohryu: Their Smoke Bomb / Smoke Spirals make them pretty effective mind game chars, but aside from that the most damaging stuff to throw out you have to be in Beast mode for, whereas the top brass can immediately begin pummeling away.

Mid to Low:

Xion: His offensive options are really predictable, and he relies on getting characters in the air and keeping them there, which is really hard to do considering that true juggles are hard to come by in this game with the exception of the ones against the wall and the floating juggles. He can get them, but against a good player it’s rare, making him more of a finesse character.

Yugo: His punch chains, at this point, anyone will see coming. It’s better to use Fang and concentrate on putting the opponent in air limbo with his two-part kick launcher, three part uppercut and punch to kick strings. Yugo’s Flicker and Counterblows can be useful against an overly offensive opponent, though, and King Of Breaker is a really good Beast Drive, especially since Spiral Fang is a one shot deal.

In your opinion
What’s the best version 3,bf,be or 4?
Also what’s the tiers for 4 and what about the best upgrades for characters in the carrier mode
