You know I’ve lurked on SRK for a long time, but not until I actually signed up did I actually feel the ultimate power that comes along with it. So these Gamefaqs boys don’t know what they’re getting into. Like the rest here, I’ll continue to act as a representative of the best in the solar system, and I further did that job by challenging some of these gamefaqs minors last night, I got in one little fight and my mom got scared and said youre moving with your auntie and uncle in bel-air. I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and had a dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare, but I thought now forget it, yo home to bel-air. I pulled up to a house about seven or eight and I yelled to the cabby yo, home smell you later, looked at my kingdom I was finally there, to settle my throne as the prince of bel-air
I hope the silly issue we’ve mentioned isn’t the main motivation behind this, and by that I mean how “SRK” (a certain number of vocal people who happen to post on this site) thinks that gamefaqs consists entirely of scrubs while “gamefaqs” (a certain number etc etc) thinks that SRK consists entirely of elitist assholes. Neither is true, there are a lot more scrubs than elitist punks here, and there’s probably several really good players that post on gamefaqs. Up until last year, I was still posting there and updating FAQs for one of the games I play to try to reach more people. Some gamers just might not care to join a bunch of game-specific forums and just want to read a FAQ or ask a quick, simple question every so often in the forum there, and that’s fine.
I’ve seen “friendly competition” mentioned a few times, and I’m all for that. If some of this is on PSN, I’d even play. Neither side should come from this acting like they’ve proved something though, given that this is online (the big thing) and that we can’t provide our best players.
At any rate, still hope to see you guys out at a major somewhere.
i met some dudes who post at gfaqs who were decent but then again they post at srk too…this defeats the whole purpose. so i say if there is a gfaqs team there should be a strictly gfaqs only people.
These basically sum it up. That and obviously not a lot of top players give a damn. Though I’d really like to see mtsac take some poor kids’ lunch money. Besides, SRK people aren’t good, GF people aren’t good. Arcade (and some offline) people are good.

For right now, with the way the thread has progressed, we’re just accepting volunteers from SRK to compete and fight against.
This is going to be held on the 360 platform (sorry Poe22222 but we’ve all got 360s). Who exactly is Mariodood, a friend of yours? I only ask b/c he never said anything after you volunteered him.
I can’t speak for the bb community, but maybe you could try and set something up with them? If they’re anything like us, they obviously won’t mind an online fight.
They have the option to fight for either side, and if they choose GFaqs, so be it. We’re not banning or restricting any volunteers or team members, so if a candidate or volunteer posts on both sides, it is what it is.

I’ll call bull on this one. Looking at the posts on the first page and reading the thread on the gamefaqs 360 sf4 page, you guys are trying to prove something. The GF thread is full of posts, from people posting here, about how SRK is scared. You guys should learn “you catch more bees with honey than vinegar.” Because you came in here bitter and most of SRK said “isn’t worth my time.” Not to mention there is a lot of two face posting going on. Over here, it’s “come on guys, we just want to play some games” and over on GF it’s “They are all elitist pricks. what are the scared of?”
The only thing that confuses me is why don’t most of you guys travel. You live in LA, so you have access to like 50 tournaments a month. The OP lives in Dallas, I’m sure he can find something in Texas. I’m not saying go crazy and drive 6 hours once or twice a month, but these days, there are nice tournaments (and a lot of sleezy ones) all over the country.
Any SRKers who want some casuals are welcome to add me.
Since post 1 and thread 1, I’ve wanted to see where we are (skillwise) w/SRK, and a nice bunch of GFaqs guys agreed. The reason is b/c I’ve seen nice increases in skill from some in our crowd, plus we’ve always had some really good people there IMO. But, it’s hard to tell how good we are from just continually sparring and competing w/each other. This is why I thought using SRK as a measuring stick was a good idea, and online is just easier.
The INITIAL thread that I made was mostly filled w/posts along the lines of what I wrote above. You’re looking at the second thread, which has a lot of posts running concurrently and based upon this thread. The reason that there appears to be something to prove now is based upon the responses of some of the SRK crowd. Gamefaqs is trash. Get that shit outta here. Yall will get smashed no contest. So forth and so on. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but what exactly were these statements based off of? How does that apply to the current team? If we’re such trash like some of yall said, why not destroy us, shut us up and move it along? NOW, if there’s something to prove, it’s that we’re not trash and that this online tourney/competition CAN go smoothly. What I’ve posted on GFaqs is EXACTLY how I felt at any given time. However, I haven’t responded to about 95% of the useless negativity from those who’ve sent it this way. This thread would be 98 pages long if I did that.
Yessir, I live in Dallas, TX. So do my daughter, my fiance, and I work 40 hours a week. Frankly it’s just easier to do tourney’s during the week from home, and I didn’t really know about the offline scene until I started posting and researching here. Gamefaqs is…um…lacking in the tourney updates department. But now that I’ve seen a few events between the Dallas and Austin area, I’ll see about making those.
