Congratulations, Chrisis.
is MvC3 more awsome now?
Congratulations, Chrisis.

Barely got to play any but it’s still awesome, the chip damage is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high, hail storm chip with Xfactor can kill someone if you burn all your gauge I think =/
I guess that means that you’ll have to X-Factor too in order to avoid chip damage.
Naw, you can super jump then fly to avoid hail chip, but it’s obnoxious and I didn’t realize it until too late.
Oh, yeah… the above is not a cool thing to learn while in a tournament match.
THAT SAID, my copy of Arcana Heart 3 is in Emeryville… they just need to put it on a truck already; I’m probably gonna go watch a movie or something to kill time.
IN ANY EVENT, I really need to get you guys on this; the game is REALLY great…
It’s worth the price of your dignity!
EDIT:
ALSO, we are now in the Berkeley Eudemonia Legacy thread…
Because a few months at an internet cafe warrants being deemed a legacy.
(hey… that shit was expensive while we were still playing out there)
Bring it tonight at Chrisis’ crib. i’ll give it a try. :shy:
YOU CAN FADC EVERYTHING!
AND FOR FREE!
It’s godlike.
Don’t you use like one bar to FADC… which you regain in like 2 seconds
Which is why it’s free!
Also, I has the game; training mode training mode…
Combos seem easy in terms of execution (I am using shortcut for air DP though: df, df attack works in this game).
Does anything permanently deplete the meter?
As in, does anything that uses meter forces you to gain it back rather than it just regenerating after a little while?
I don’t think so… The only thing that seems to affect charge is the Arcana you use… Regeneration is always automatic, I think.
That said, execution in this game is mad easy: I’m barely in training mode for an hour and I seem to have a lot of Bnb combos committed to muscle Memory.
Like, this is not hard to pick up at all… you guys will likely pick up the mechanics in less than an hour if we just sit down and demonstrate what you can do with the system.
To chime in about the GS tourney: too much fun! Only I wish we got a chance to play more casuals. Feeling nervous and dropping combos is no good, but I’m just happy I was able to play the game for the first time and experience the competitive hype live. Free drinks and sandwiches is just a bonus to such a great event. You don’t know how excited I was just talking to Seth Killian, watching FChamp rushdown with Magnus and seeing Chrisis make top 8 (soo good!)
I’ll see you guys at SFSU tomorrow, for sure.
As for AH3: that game is excellent! Arcana system is deep, it’s kind of like a What If? with drive powers in BlazBlue if they were interchangeable, and it works! Game is fun and balanced (note the two don’t necessitate each other, looking at you Marvel) and there’s a maid with a GIANT SWORD! Get hype, everyone should play it.
Looks like I have to take a rain check on visiting my friend until February. At least that means I can go to the SFSU Dojo this weekend!
GGs all! How long did you play till?
Dark Awake is too fun!
Since we’re saving soo much money lately. We should maybe think about putting money together to get a ASUS monitor to take to meets like Chrisis’ place and SFSU. Thoughts?
So glad I posted back on nov 26 about Chaos Breaker. We’re playing it like scrubs but once we get good (IE find the true glory of the tank) it will be so awesome!
GGs all! Session until 4AM was good after things like that I sleep the best so I feel better rested now than I have in like a week. XD
If we can afford a monitor would be nice, despite getting tourney things lack of real normal income kind of stunts me from getting too much. >.<
I really hope people enjoyed this session and you can all make it back so it continues to be fun awesome, amazing and tank filled!
If we are talking about tanks, this one is obviously top tier from the beginning

tao, DKL, check your inbox. I sent you my PSN account info if you wanna get dark awake.
also, I found the SRK forum for it http://shoryuken.com/f2/dark-awake-aka-chaos-breaker-sale-jap-psn-now-readthefirstpost-garahhhhhhhh-246660/ dont know how useful that will be…
Woo! GGs to ya guys at SFSU and having us all level up at Chaos Breaker would be awesome indeed! Thanks for doing the research and finding the thread MaNoel!
I’ve seen Akatsuki and tried it once or twice it seemed interesting but I never got to fully delve into it.
Also, I’ve been listening to while practicing Dhalsim, why is the song so addictive? X_X stupid memes.
Work’s got me tied down today, but I’ll spend an hour at least in the Chaos Breaker lab before bed. Prepare to trade notes, ya’ll! We’ll be the first to unlock the true game!
I messed around a bit. Bear in mind, I have little experience with SNK-type fighters. Some observations:
Fina
Very similar to Street Fighter’s Ken
-Her 623A (sword of justice) is a fast DP type move, can juggle into itself, and can follow up into her 236236ABC super. It’s so good. I was able to land 4 in a single juggle after a Nagar assist in the corner
-Jump C is a pretty good crossup, I think I have a nasty mixup going with Cursehead’s assist, but need to play some matches to find out
-From crossup jump C she seems to be able to cancel into aerial 236236ABC. I can’t get this air super to come out naked or any other scenario so far. Maybe other characters have situational supers?
-Can hit confirm into 236236ABC from 2B, 5B, C, 2D, or from a 623A juggle
-Slow moving Projectile assist, she seems like she’ll be most effective on point as she can build some serious meter
Cursehead
-Plays something like Alex from 3S! YES!!!
-Seems like one of the only characters that can effectively tick throw from 2A and 6A. Forum posts claim that his basic ticks can’t be escaped by holding jump away from.
-360 can either launch opponent vertically, or if holding down, bounce them off the wall
-720 does crappy damage, almost the same as 360, must have some other benefits…
-No cancelable normals from what I’ve tried
-Hyper armor nullifies hit stun, still take full damage
-I tried to anchor with him during matches at SFSU but had way too much trouble moving forward against Chrisis’ zoning necromancer. Seems like Curse needs at least one assist alive to help him get in
-His assist is pretty neat, he does a single rekka into his switch-sides-with-you grab. The positioning to get the grab to connect is finicky, but I can see some really nasty 50-50 setups coming from it as there’s plenty of time to position your character for a crossup-fake crossup. Cursehead’s burly body also hides your point character’s sprite to further hide any possible setups
-He’s really likes that Earth Hammer
I’ll post about Nagar and a couple other characters I tried tomorrow. Some other engine notes
-Items have their own supers, known as Item Burst. Done with 236236C+D
-Most characters can’t cancel their jab, I was able to with Fina, but the window is really tight and only her retarded 623A could combo. Seems like A is mostly relegated to parrying in this game.
-Some characters can link two jabs together or link jab, 2D, special.
-Evette’s air super is similar to Doom’s APB, I was able to take 70% health off one character with 6D, 5Ax2, 623C, 236236C
-Can’t activate a super while an assist is still on-screen
-Can call a second assist before the first one is finished
-assist can only be called on the ground when either neutral or doing a cancelable normal
-Characters can auto-parry one non-low attack when running or backdashing
-Vritra is too good. He has three different dive kicks!
-Nagar, Berhard, Zon, Vritra, and Evette all seem to have very good assists
