What FSE does is allows you to chain most of her normals like a target combo. The key limitation is that you can only chain into a stronger attack. example:
crouching :lk: :mk: :hk: is a valid FSE chain
crouching :mp: :mp: :hk: is NOT a valid FSE chain
FSE is weird, every vid I see Juri gets killed shortly after activating it  It seems most useful after air reset where you can set up some 50/50 stuff (that option-select vid shows a few). Otherwise, when activated, ppl just seem to runaway or reversal and juri isn’t fast enough to chase down a lot of characters, let alone open up their defense. Also note that if you get hit while activated, you build more revenge so you could potentially re-activate FSE after the combo timer runs out
U2 (spin kick thingy) would be the better choice if its setups actually WORKED consistently. Fuck that ultra
Hmmm, according to Option Select, you can cancel normals. Maybe I wasn’t timing the cancels correctly when I tried it. FSE probably isn’t like a dial-a-combo ultra.
DKL, you bought all the costumes? Isn’t that like around 70 costumes, how much did all of it cost?
I spent $50 since I’m stocking up points in order to get the incoming costumes…
That said, shout-outs to Rufio’s friends; good games tonight.
Actually, what you guys could do is like collect money/donations from people at the site… like, it doesn’t need to be set in stone and anyone can contribute whatever they can in order to get those logins.
Yeah, the rules for FSE go something like that. Not that I’ve really watched a lot of Juri videos, but from what I can tell you really just want to stick to one combo anyway. Cr. short, cr. strong, cr. forward, cl. roundhouse, then confirm into roundhouse pinwheel. You can also start with her overhead then link into cr. short etc. Other than those two setups I haven’t seen anything out there for FSE.
Edit: GGs guys. I had a lot of fun. I’ll try to make it out there again if I can.
Wow what a great session tonight (so many charge characters)!
Good games everyone. I’m heading back to the lab with my head held high.
For those curious about who modded my stick, his name/handle is jamespoop, you can check his thread out. There’s also pictures of the handiwork in the later posts.
Yeah, good stuff guys; sorry to the newcomers for not being there the entire time as I had class from 4-8.
ANYWAY, thanks to everyone who dropped by and let’s game on next week too.
As for me, I’m gonna keep working at Chun; played some online a while ago with my XBL friends and applied what I learned at the meet (which was mostly to abuse my focus attack and I can finally do triple head stomps off of target combo in a real match)… new experience was pretty useful and I didn’t have a lot of the problems I had with Dudley (I feel like I can now focus more on mixups as opposed to footsies, which is mentally exhausting for me… essentially, it feels like I don’t overheat from trying to process everything (which pretty much happens during an intense match using Dudley) and I can maybe get better reads on my opponents since I’m not too worried about being poked out now… focus baiting isn’t terribly worrisome since, with practice, I’m pretty sure I can condition myself to throw out standing strong more, which is focus safe and actually has somewhat comparable range to standing fierce).
All in all… yeah… I’m pretty sure I’m gonna stick with Chun… gonna spend the next week watching videos and reading up…
THAT SAID, serious truth guys: should I buy premium theme #7 (the one with the SF girls in bathing suits)?
I can get it and I’d still have enough money left over for the new costumes (though I would have to put more money in in order to download the BBCS DLC character).
That was a pretty cool stick, by the way… what parts are inside it?
ALSO, what of the fate of the other stick?
Come back soon as we’re intending to be here all year round.
(though, I might be late on October 8th since I wanna go see Redline over in San Francisco… I need to get those tickets soon before it sells out or something…)
EDIT:

Hmmmmmmmmmmm…
The temptation to do something stupid with my points is too great.
EDIT EDIT:
Hm, you know… I may want to dual-mod my personal 360 TE at one point… roughly how much would that cost without doing any fancy stuff?
(I just want it to work on the PS3… that way, I can play with some of you guys)
EDIT EDIT EDIT:
Also, if people have been reading up to this point, if you guys are on XBL, make sure to friend add me and then post in here in order to remind me to accept.
We should play moar lag fighter 4 from time to time.
As a Cammy user, I tend to feel a (friendly! :badboy:) rivalry with all Chun players
My stick is a HRAP, or hori real arcade pro. It’s a really great stick by Hori (only ps3 stick with backwards compatibility for ps2/1 games), but it’s been recently discontinued and the Hori V3 is slated to replace it (looks very similar to a TE). The guy who modded it, added a X360 fightpad and an Imp board inside so I can switch between console. The link in my #707 post is that guy’s store page, it’s cheaper to dual mod X360 sticks since there’s no need to add a second controller inside them (ps3 controllers don’t require drivers). It should set you back about 100 bucks, so it’s an iffy choice to dual mod (you can buy another stick for that price). No regrets on my splurge though, I’m liking my toy!
As for my other stick… not too sure what I want to do with it yet. I originally bought that TE with the intention of selling it once my HRAP got dual modded. However, I might hang onto it for a bit longer since there tends to be stick shortages at Red Fleet’s sessions (he has an xbox setup and most of the players there are ps3/arcade warriors).
DKL, you left behind the lemon soda our new friend offered us (The pad Juri player). Way to keep it classy! >_>
That said, yeah, at that price and given that I don’t have anything fancy in my stick (default FTW), I think it would be better to just get a new one (and a copy of SUPER for the PS3).
At one point I was trying to mod my rainbow button stick to be compatible with x360, but I haven’t found the time to do it. I’m one of those who would rather do the mods myself. I’m not too experienced on modding parts, but I like finding out how to do it.
I initially bought a universal mayflash stick that was PS2/3 and PC compatible. I practiced on it with the crappy stock parts for like two months until I decided to mod it.
Switching parts wasn’t as easy as unscrewing a few things, so I had to buy all of this soldering equipment to do it. But of course, being a cheap person I just got the cheapest stuff and struggled with it. For instance, the soldering iron I got would only solder at the very tip of it, so I had to angle it at very uncomfortable positions at times. And then the holes for the buttons weren’t big enough for sanwa buttons so I had to sand it with a nail filer XD.
Actually, I gave up halfway through soldering because I couldn’t solder the wires to the buttons since the connections were so small and I didn’t want to damage the buttons. So then I opted to go ghetto and just tie the wires around the connections. It’s been working up til now, so I guess it’s good enough ~(-_-)~
I found out that you can get an inexpensive madcatz 360 regular pad to dual mod a stick, so I might try that one of these days.
You can confirm off of J. fierce, j. fierce, into target combo then ultra. But I think most top Chun players go for some other combo. In any case the only use for back+MK that I’m sure about is as a set up into ultra if you don’t have a charge or don’t want to burn EX on Legs.
Also class from 4-8 on Saturdays? Those classes better be awesome.
That said, no class next Saturday, so I’m showing up at 2PM, as usual…
As for now, I gotta take a practice exam; I hope I’m getting better, because this is getting frustrating…
ALSO, the LSATs are retarded: for some reason, they don’t allow digital watches, so the only way you’re allowed to keep track of time is by using shitty analog watches (of which I had to go out and buy… specifically, I needed the one with a stop-watch function; FML)…
Going even further, analog watches that don’t use numbers (just hands) are a terrible way to keep time.
I’m surprised that I’m looking at that watch and I can’t even understand how I’m supposed to tell time with it…
But, yes, Digital clocks that display time using numbers are the best… I like being able to tell the time without having to think about the relative placements of the hands (“Is the hour hand closer to 5 or 6???” Fuck that noise).
That said, my class’s website isn’t loading up and I cannot retrieve the practice exam…
Maybe I should get some SSF4 in while I’m waiting for it to come back?
It’s 2:30 am and I’m trying to learn Chun’s “Swedish Firecracker”, which is cancelling standing far mp into legs…
In the process of trying to learn it, I’ve come to the realization that the reason why I’m having such a hard time pianoing is because I’m left handed and it’s unnatural for my right hand to piano from light kick going to heavy kick… I reversed the button mapping and I can now do cr. lk into lightning legs incredibly consistently…
I’m not sure if I’ll keep this button layout, but it was interesting…
With regards to the firecracker, it’s easier to do if I option select lk along with mp: mp comes out, but I get a free lk buffer.
EDIT:
Actually, no, it might not be my handedness…
It’s just that it’s weird to make a piano motion from my index finger to my ring finger (or whatever that finger is)…
That said, I desperately want to be able to do firecracker as it’s apparently a fantastic option select: if medium punch misses, nothing comes out… if it connects, ex/regular legs come out (which is excellent since it punishes focus bating).
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF–
Want to use turbo function (no, not really… in fact, I don’t even want to macro my empty buttons to make things easier…).
I guess I could punish focus baiting with cr. mk into legs, but it doesn’t reach nearly as far as standing medium punch…
@Hotrod, Eddie, others
There’s not enough Cammy vs Claw matches on youtube…
Nor is there any Vega Theory Fighter in the Cammy subforums.
:wtf:
On the IplayWinner site, it’s mostly videos of poor, innocent Cammys getting steamrolled
The only vid I have to study that matchup atm is the Godsgarden Makoto vs Sako FT10 set. There’s a strong ‘Sako factor’ going on in that matchup though, so I’m not yet sure what I can incorporate into my gameplan considering my skill level. I do notice he spaces the match much differently than I do (he either stays full screen or rushes in close), and minimizes his time in the footsie game.
@kontrad1cti0n
A Dhalsim player actually came by Saturday who used a fightpad. So many controller/pad warriors at EU now!
And get hype for NorCal Regionals y’allz! Let’s level up for November 20th!
Eennnnnn Ceeeee Arrrrrrrrrrr! Get Hype! Who wants to split a tourney pot with me on Friday? Its at contra costa college between 10 and 5. I’ve played some the guys up at ccc and they’ve got lots of lag fighter tactics up their sleeves, might be time to give Seth his first real test and if things go south, I’ll just pull Blanka out. They’re having other games as well but I don’t have a working ps2 stick. If no else or a ringer shows up though its pretty much free. Who wants to turn this into a real tournament?
