Web page has expired FYI.
PS. Thanks for all the info!
So, I finally got XvsSF to work, but I still can’t get marvel super heroes or MvC to work… anyone have any idea if there are parent rom files i need? Or anything?
The owner is working on the problem. It should be back in less than a week.
How large are they? Parents for those games are around 20 MB.
The thing is, I’ve gotten what looks to be the parent roms as well, and they still don’t work for somereason.
In Mame, click the “all games” folder, find the game in question (say MSH), right click, hit properties, then the audit tab. That should tell you if there’s missing or bad files in the zip.
So, I have the parent rom file, and then like, the secondary zip file, so i have all the required files, but like, i guess since they’re in different zip files mame won’t register them… and i’ve tried adding the files to the right zip, and that doesn’t work, so now I don’t know what to do.
^Depending on the game, you may have bios files that you need to run them properly. Information on where to get those can’t be talked about on the board, but check to make sure all files that should be there are there, the bios files can be missing sometimes. (Also MAME will often show all the files in the rom on the audit, so usually the one with a name different than all the other parts is the bios.)
I’ve got another question, when playing a multiplayer game on kaillera with more than one other person, what is the command to switch the controls? Also, what are the controls for switching neo-geo games from arcade to console? I always have to hope the other guy knows how to do it, and after we get going, I forgot to ask. Yeah, little scatterbrained when gaming, but I’d appreciate the commands.
ok so i’m trying to get on this whole kaillera thing but my ping is too high. are there ways to reduce it?
Play on servers where you have less ping. Or get better internet connection.
Someone should rename the thread to “MAME32k 0.64” instead of “MAME.” MAME32k is officially recognised as illigal by MAME.
UPDATE
The PSX to USB adaptor I have linked in the main tutorial has been discontinued. The new adaptor is linked to here. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2348187&cp=&origkw=playstation+usb&kw=playstation+usb&parentPage=search In fact, I am updating this in the store right after buying one. Enjoy!
A few qs -
Is there a list of mame shortcut keys, especially while in netplay (i know t is talk, that sort of thing)
Some game seem to work fine in mame32, but not in any mame32k, so cant netplay with them (specifically SvC) - any idea.
How do you find out an ip of a server on the list?
In mame32k, theres a list of about 30 servers, while when I load up Gens or Snesk, theres about 200+ Most are too high ping for me anyway, but is there an option for mame32k to list those to?
cheers in advance, and ggs!

Alright. firstly…
The main hotkeys you’ll need to know are as follows:
F2 Dips
f3 reset
f5 control swap. the first 2 numbers are what you’ll have to pay attention to. those two are the first and second player. so if you have something like 4,2 as the first two numbers, then the fourth player to have joined the game will be using player one side, and the second player will be player two.
P pauses. don’t do it unless you HAVE to, as it can cause desynch.
As for the MAME question… Theres actually two diferent versions of MAME 32k .64 out there. one has been hacked into to support more games.
And finally, the server question. You have MAME set to use the anti3d kailleraclient.dll . it has a small server list. if you want more servers, just copy/paste the snes kailleraclient dll into the mame folder.
edit and to find out the IP of a server, go to the right hand side of the server list and drag the right bar over more to the right. the IP will be revealed
Couple of Quick Questions,
-
I can’t seem to get ST to run at the right speed, it is way to fast. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
-
In a lot of the games the sound keeps breaking up. Is there any fix for this?
-
Delete your mame config file

no
May want to add something about the bios files need to play some games if you haven’t said so already (didn’t get a chance to read through the whole thread as of yet)
I got this version of mame from anti3d, and I noticed that it was missing a few folders in the main page. The folders it was missing were: roms, icons, samples, sta, hi, inp and diff.
I created a roms folder.
1st question: Should I create a folder for the other ones that are not there? And do I need these missing folders (or files) to play on-line, as I have not really noticed anything different from the newer version of mame I have when using this older version (aside from hearing the occasional double voices).
2nd: In order to play online I need the kaillera-0.9-sdk file? And after I get this file, do I just extract it into the main mame screen? - pic 1 in which it will create its own folder.
Thanks in advance…
Create /sta and /inp if you want to save states and record inputs, otherwise mame will spit out an error.
Not sure what /diff does, some of my mames don’t have it, but the ones that do seem to have files created for killer instinct in there, so it might be CHD related. Make it just to be safe if you have CHD games.
You don’t need the SDK, that’s for programming. You already have the kailleraclient.dll, which is what you need to get online.
Is there a way to play with no background music yet retain the sound effects?
I bought the older blue model radioshack adapter off of someone on the forums. Plugged it in and the green light comes on but windows doesn’t even come up with a “new device detected” or anything. Installing the driver doesn’t help. Tested it on 3 computers (all windows xp pro) and still nothing. Is this thing just broken or has someone had the same problem?
