At comments early on about there needing to be DC cartoons aimed at the older fans, i respond with this;
Most of the toys are bought by a younger crowd, most of the advertising that pays for cartoons is aimed at a younger crowd. When they can make clearly adult aimed DC DVD animated movies, they can make more kidcentric animated TV shows and in the end both markets are better for it.
BTW you guys do know Bruce Timm is a big Jack Kirby fan right? His art style was inspired by Kirby’s.
Anyway Ep. 15 was pretty good and had IMO, a good Scarecrow. Scream Queen was hawt though.
Yeah, he mentions this in that Bruce Timm art book with a barbarian saving woman from a mutant octopus on the cover. Buy that book when you find it, it’s good as hell.
Man, emo Aquaman sucks big time. For a minute there, I thought he was depressed because of some underwater girl or something, but it turns out it was a bunch of whales he didn’t save. Well, he does love his sea creatures after all.
I love how TBaTB doesn’t hesitate in amping up the campiness and ridiculousness factor in each episode; this comes true with that last bit in the end of the episode, when bringing in the Earth’s moon to Planet Ron (sp?). Not like that’s a bad thing, mind you - it just reminds itself that “Hey, I’m a cartoon, and you’re not supposed to take me seriously, dammit!”.
Which is why TBaTB is so fun in it’s own right, I guess.
It looks like they took the name from a old sliver-age story from a issue of ‘‘Batman Vol .1 #139’’ where a old Batman villain the Signalman change his id to the Blue Bowman. Between the ‘‘Mignola’’ Chapel reference, Etrigan speaking entirely in rhyme, and the Gotham by Gaslight costume, this may have been my favorite episode to date.
It’s an alternate universe form of Green Arrow, who is not a hero, but a villain. Much like how Batman’s evil alternate world ego is Owlman.
As for episode 15
ep 15
Spoiler
I chuckled a bit when Batman out-deduced Holmes; kind of a cool moment to see two of the biggest fictional detectives together.
The battle in the Netherworld/Hell was pretty well done; and it’s also interesting in introducing to the audience how did The Gentleman Ghost came to be.
The thing is, Red Hood and Owlman are actual Batman villains from the past (and the original Red Hood was indeed Joker). Blue Bowman, Scarlet Scarab, and Cyclone are just made up for this show.
Haha, it looks like Bats not only has a bigger build, but an even bigger constipation problem. :lol:

Yep, that seems to be the case. Probably did it for completion purposes, I guess and to make it a more flashier finish for the show’s 1st season. I personally thought it was a good move on the producer’s part.
OK, I’ve got some ‘bad news’, and believe me when I say that I am disappointed about this as you are. Apparently the next ep. was delayed til NEXT WEEK.
If the ep. gets shown in the next few days and gets leaked, I’ll let you know
