The startup time is still problematic and requires a decent amount of time to startup but the reduced speed allows the player to dominate the ground as the crescent slowly covers the lower half of the screen. If the player waits for the projectile to start hitting (i.e. confirm blockstun) the opponent before attacking the player can effectively react and punish rolls, jumps, and other invulnerable escape methods, forcing the opponent to block and take the oncoming offensive momentum.

That seems about right, Mature/Andy/K’ does that shit pretty well.
Also KOF related, a lot of sources in the KOF forums say that not teching your knockdown gives you 8 frames of throw invincibility. This basically solves the “weird” s.C/s.D we get when we try to walkup grab or other sf2 shenanigans. However, teching your knockdown removes all of that.
I think I found an ambiguous crossup with claw iori off of his command grab but I don’t really know if it will work. Looks pretty legit tho.
yeah you also get throw invinc after blockstun/hitstun is over so its harder to just c.lk grab than it is on other games
