yo who’s all going to the Huntsville tourney

You guys are starting the first round of league play this Friday at 7PM, correct? I’m offering to stream it if you’re interested. Gave my capture hardware a test run this weekend and just about everything looks good to go. I only need to pick up a couple headsets for commentary and a webcam for playercam and I’ll have a complete setup. I probably won’t bother with the latter until later though.
My only questions are:
- Do you have a reliable internet connection at the venue with at least a constant 1Mbps upload?
- Do you stay open until at least midnight?
- What console(s) would I be expected to stream? Just PS3?
- Do you have an HDTV/monitor with component inputs that is adequate for gaming (minimal input lag)? This is important, as PS3 cannot be streamed over HDMI. If you only have HDMI/VGA monitors, then I can provide a component-to-VGA adapter. I believe it is of adequate quality and lags less than one frame, but I have not done any testing on it yet and just thought I should throw that out there so you know. I can also probably provide the means to stream over composite if you’re paranoid about lag, but the stream quality will obviously be ass in that case.
- Can you provide one or two people to operate the stream and provide commentary after I set it up? It’s a fairly simple task. I ask because I’m probably a terrible commentator and might have to divert my attention to other priorities as the stream is running.
As I’ve probably bitched about a few times in this thread already, I work Mon-Fri evenings but have enough free reign that I can usually work away from the office at the time of this event provided that there are no tasks at work that require my immediate attention. I won’t know if this is the case or not until Friday afternoon though, so I make no promises that I can even make it out to this. I do intend to be there, as the location is reasonably close and the event is ideal. Since I have little to no interest in actually playing SF4 competitively, and this is an SF4-only(?) event, I can just focus on streaming and work while I’m there, depending on the answers to the above questions.
I want to be there, but I have no intention of making a 4-hour trip solo. I am willing to provide my own car for a carpool as long as the other riders are willing to put up with no A/C or radio. I just want to split the driving time and gas money with at least one or two other people.
If anyone in Troy or Montgomery or the surrounding area is interested, drop me a line.
Sixfortyfive, if you stream any mvc3 events I am at, I can commentate, I’ve commentated FunkyP’s atlanta streams several times…
actually you should put C Deezy on the mic. I dont know if he’s actually done commentary but he’s got the most hype yelling about matches ever

Huntsville has a stream, but it’s likely the Insanity Skate Park it’s being held at may not have available internet. Still figuring it out.

as for the reliable internet connection I just ran speedtest.net and the results are Download is 6.67 mpbs and upload is 1.05 mbps.
Not sure why we would need to stay open till midnight but we can if needed.
That are all PS3 with Asus monitors that have hdmi, dvi, vga ports.
I think we can get people to help with the stream. Reading from the forms looks like you will have someone that is willing to talk.

Apparently, staying in Tuskegee nerfed my chances of going anywhere for now… but I can dream.
If GTSouth actually gets a steady stream going every week, i can definitely see myself going out to Gump more often.
Not to mention the serious competition out that way and it’d be great practice.
PS: Also not trying to jump on the bandwagon, but i’d love to try my hand at commentating also.
