RAEKWON187 is a fucking beast. I am serious. and he definitely put all of us on the map like he said. Whenever I talk to folks from out of state on irc or some other shit about i’m from bama they say “do you know that guy raekwon he’s cool as fuck i met him at this or that tournament”. Raekwon qualified and went to fucking SBO for guilty gear. SBO. you know, the one in Japan.
Birmingham has some good as fuck players, and they are very nice people.
and rocky he’s hosted plenty of tournaments, but he had various shit going on like he posted about missing most recent final round for surgery which i’m sure made it harder for him to host them, plus guess what i’m sure the fact that none of us showed up to them discouraged it somewhat. But me and raph went up to like 3 of those at least, playing 3rd strike (and raph playing gg). Many of your montgomery friends entered MvC2, I remember that was the first times that I ever saw marvel and even ATLANTA came out, lordiceman and whatnot.

Not once did I say anything negative about anyone who throws/threw tournaments. As far as last night goes, I actually didn’t play that much, was too busy watching all the talented southern Alabama players play. That’s why I asked about the northern part of Alabama, because from the looks of it, we don’t play the radio down here. Hell yea I said “don’t be scare.” why not? What’s wrong with them thinking their skill is second to none?Everybody in Alabama sitting here holding hands singing “kumbaya” is the reason people aren’t showing up for tournaments. Ask your self this, do people wanna go to a tournament where everybody is humming and singing together? Not me… In that case, the tourney might as well be causals.

Thread got amusing for a second. alabama has always never showed up for tourneys, it’s been that way since 97. (yes i’ve been around that long). Then ike showed up and held it down for a long time. but yea the bham folks best in the business when it comes to hospitality, trying to create a scene, and overall skill level in all major games.
mixed: huntsville is a dead zone for games. Lot of casual players, noone wants to get better. Just the way it is there. You going to have to travel, or play online i suppose.
