i was there live and shit was so hype!!! shadys adaptation is off the wall.
I saw all of those 3 sets. That was a sick Ryu. Awesome air tatsu game. Great use of the jump in mp against sagat. He was all over the place.

I have questions about what seems to be some fundamentals displayed here that I don’t yet understand.

I noticed a lot of high level players move back and forth quite rapidly, I use to think this was a technique to improve parry-ing reaction in sf3 but I see many players doing it on sf4 as well. All I can guess is that its some kind of baiting/zoning technique? Can anyone enlighten me?

Throwing out [whiffed] standing light punches before [long range] fireballs. The Ryu player does this A LOT in the Sagat match. Is he whiffing or trying to bait/fake a reaction or is there another purpose for this? (forced block or something?)
Thanks in advance!
Both are baiting strategies. Players tend to move back and forth because they’re probably hovering around the max range of the other characters pokes. They want their opponent to whiff in order for them to punish. Throwing out light punches can stuff other characters pokes or make it look like Ryu is about to throw a fireball. Players tend to look at your characters animation in order to jump in. Throwing random punches forces your opponent to think a little more.
damn poongko lost?!
noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
nice vids. will be learning a lot from these

did anyone think to record the evo finl match Wong/Daigo? It seems to have been removed from everywhere. HELP!
You didn’t see the sticky saying no EVO posts? Good youtube accounts hosting them have been suspended as well.
Daigo’s MM’s at Evo are here, vs. Marn (Viper), PhillyOne (Cammy), SIN (Rufus), Dr.Chaos (Ken), and Gootecks (Balrog), seems like they get updated as the SIN and Marn ones weren’t up a day or two ago, anyway check them out, really stellar play. I have to say American talent is quickly approaching Japanese talent.
LoL…I ran into DSP last night.

thanks for this. Daigo’s freakin’ amazing.
Np dude, didn’t know if anyone knew about that, oh and about ur vids.
It seems that you don’t have a problem linking lp- shoryu which is good.
Be careful about those sweeps cause I see you throw alot of em out, they work but blocked at a certain range will get punished for.
One little tid bit about playing against chun (since I did main her for a bit) be careful on jumping in at her when she has meter. That usually means your gonna eat EX SBK.
Other than that, not bad and lol at the Dictator’s random ultra from half screen xD
