Guys I need help from you…I am being defeated by a Blanka just because I don’t know how to punish his moves.

Other than the anti-airs (I am working on that), I am sure am missing LOTS of things, can somebody please enlighten me?

One clue that you’re playing the matchup wrong is that at almost every point in that match Blanka had more meter than you. Which either meant you were playing too defensively, or you were wasting meter. In your case it was a bit of both. You threw EX Fireballs at times when their really wasn’t a good reason to, and when you should have pressured him on wakeup you didn’t, which meant you lost momentum and you didn’t get to build meter. Even though Blanka can reversal you with EX V.Ball, it’s important to test your opponent’s willingness to reversal. Also, your opponent was willing to play footsies but you just sat their waiting for him to do something. This is only a reasonable strategy once you have the lead IMO. Test your opponent’s ability to whiff punish your cr.mk, and don’t be afraid to throw fireballs at footsie range. Blanka won’t have meter for EX Ball, and it’s not that easy to react to especially if you fake him out by whiffing moves. Spamming cr.mk is also a good way to bait a jump if your opponent’s footsie game isn’t very strong. Just learn to see the jump and punish with DP.

SHIMANE029 (Oniku) vs HJMxp Dudley. It was a pretty good match.

good match

Pls Critique my match

Looking for critique. There’s obviously big stuff like teching throws, antiairing, not sweeping as my first impulse, reacting properly, learning how to keep up pressure and other things I need just to dig myself out of the trash. Any specific tips or comments would be appreciated.

Pretty good Ryu on my friend list, did 2 sets I got a random FADC setup (set 1, game 3) when he was across the screen. I don’t like playing Ryus that do nothing but turtle, this guy has defense and offense in his games.

I hate the Gouken matchup. Play perfectly then eat a random b.throw for half your life. Predict air armour but second hit of j.mp whiffs. Jump over FA but grab whiffs because FA moves him forward. So annoying.

Interesting that sekiganryu choose U2 though. I’ll play around with that.
